Khurah reverts back into her regular form and looks up at the night sky. The clouds of a rainy day has parted, and the stars and moons are slowly coming to in the heavens.
Krumdak finds the wand, a fish spine, plucked of all its ribs leaving just the head and tail. A thin layer of seaweed and kelp is wrapped around the base of the wand and in the socket of the fishes eye is the eye of some other animal, too large for the socket, but jammed into it, leaving parts of it gushing out. It stares directly at the fish head, no matter how Krumdak moves it. The fish also has a decent sized pearl tucked away in a pocket and the weird pincer staff has released Verrynia now.
The smaller fish have no specific items of value, but trinkets like teeth and odd shells. They all have a small shield made from driftwood and fish shells and coated with some kind of sticky substance and small nets attached to seaweed belts tied around their waists. They also carry a spear each.

Xarprax sheathes (?) his war pick. "Another mystery solved by Xarprax," he boasts. He marches around the boat, holding his hat down on his head with one arm. "Now, who do we see about getting our drips and spits?"
Krumdak takes the wand, the pincer staff and the pearl, and then tries to remove the eye from the socket. Does he recognize what animal it could be from?
The eye looks like it belongs to some sort of goat or sheep with a square pupil. It stares intently at the fish for a few more seconds, but after Krumdak has studied it for a while, it suddenly shifts its gaze to him.

"Ok, that's weird" Krumdak mutters to himself, a bit freaked out by the eye. He tries to speak to the eye, not loud enough so the others can hear him, "hello?"
Is the eye a part of the wand, like the wand is different with the eye/seems more powerful? (Since the eye was fused to the wand). And can Krumdak spend some time studying the wand?
The metal-clad Goliath coughs in Krumdak’s direction, then turns to the rest of the group, “It would be wise to return to those that employed us. This will likely not be the end of this.”

The eye and wand really gives out the same energy as a whole. While you guys wait for the morning to come creeping everyone is free to try and identify the items through an arcana check (throught the length of a short rest).
You use a moment to tidy up the deck of the ship from the mess your brief skirmish made. You head back to the MOUSE tavern, waiting for morning to come with all of its sunny glory. It's a crisp morning, a few degrees over freezing. Autumn is clearly on its way. With fish heads, pincer staff and wand in hand you find your way back to the boat and find the crew readying it for travel. You see the young elf girl on the deck, and probably due to your groups collectively large and tall size she spots you even before you've set your foot on the jetty.
"Hey! How did the stakeout go?!" She yells at you from the boat, while you make your way down towards her and the boat.

Xarprax doesn't shirk work, but he does end up stuffing his new captain's hat in his belt because it keeps falling off his head. He ends up throwing a lot of stuff overboard ... whether it should have been tossed or not.
The next morning, Xarprax marches toward the elf, a big, satisfied grin on his snout. Tied to his head with a long piece of pink ribbon he found in the trash is the captain's hat, which is now squashed in the center where the ribbon goes over it. A pink bow dangles below his scaly chin. "Thrr strkrt wrt wll," he says, not able to open his jaw because of how tight the ribbon is tied. "Wrr fnd rrt rrt wz fsh ppl."

The young lady comes down with an empty crate in her hands, leaving it on the jetty next to a bunch of other empty crates. "Fishpeople? Like triton? They think of it as a slur, don't say that to The Captain." She starts walking up the gangplank waving you along with her, she continues to speak with you while she readies the ship to sail with the rest of the crew. Everyone except Verrynia, who has proper experience on a boat, probably feel kind of in the way and the crew bumps into you with an "excuse me" or "coming through". The elf continues "I see you found The Captains hat. He'll be glad you brought it back! When I'm done with my share of the work I'll take you to his quarters. So he'll be able to pay you. In the meanwhile, tell me about this fish fog. Sounds exciting!" She continues to tie ropes, carry equipment and at one point she even mops the deck for dried fish-man-blood.

Verrynia watches the crew work, silently judging them.
The fog showed up the moment the raiding party finished climbing up the side of the ship. Fairly small cloud, not helping the ones still on the hull, but decent cover for a quick raid.
Her eyes turn towards Xarprax.
As for the captain's hat, the raid leader was wearing it when they boarded. Not sure if it was intentional insult or not, but it's probably best if you get it cleaned.

Xarprax balances the hat on his big head and grins around the boat, moving stiffly. "Looks good, right?"
Gunnar mumbles, “Fits you perfectly.” As he trudges around the boat to make sure no one else is following.

Krumdak looks at Xarprax a bit jealous, wanting the hat for himself. He then starts looking at the bodies, beginning with the captain.

Try as he might, Krumdak can't seem to remove the eye. It seems to be magically fused to the wand to the extent of it being part of the fishes skull.
Nature check for making sure which animal the eye stems from.
