Brocc will start casting identify on the magical stones, seeing if he can learn anything more about them by doing so. He will start with the diamond, then work back through the list from there.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zeltheris will pool the valuables with those Brocc found to be divided up later, the quartz he attempts to cross reference with the shelves to find details on it.
Investigation: 19
As he apparently has little understanding of the dwarven filing system, he will ask for help from the rest of the group...
Banzo will take a closer look at the two constructs but without touching them. Do either look capable of mobility?
Perception: 9
"Maybe something here can help defeat the demon or at least imprison it again."
They are both strongly affixed to the floor, one has a dizzying array of lenses and polished crystal and glass panels...though what it does he is unable to determine. The other has a number of rotary grinding surfaces suspended over a circular wok-type vestibule.....probably something to do with shaping ore or crystals? Maybe?
Garet his interest piqued now that there might actually be something that can help destroy the foul demon.
Garet goes to help Zeltheris hoping his knowledge of Dwarven may help with his search.
Looking to Banzo "Perhaps if those devices you are studying can't be moved, then perhaps we can lure the creature here instead." His mind span with the thought if actually baiting the foul creature.
OOC Dndpro100 in my head the 1st machine with the lenses etc is some sort of laser which could be used against the demon, the second is something that could grind bits up. These are affixed to the floor and don't look like moving anytime soon, so if we can't remove them then instead we should get the demon here.
"Garet, I don't know where to start or how to handle this but if you really think we can use it, we better test it before getting that demon here, I am up to help even if I don't think I am able"
(How about the identify of the various substances from the chamber? I don't know if identify will tell us much about them, but am hopeful to get something from it...)
Brocc will start casting identify on the magical stones, seeing if he can learn anything more about them by doing so. He will start with the diamond, then work back through the list from there.
- Another is sealed in a similar lead container. The rocks within have a greenish tinge and are slightly warm to the touch.
Identify is unable to tell him too much more about this or the other similar material. Make a Medicine Check.
- Within another he finds a yellow diamond that glows with power, its surface has a chalky feel.
The gem appears to contain a seed of elemental energy aspected to earth....it is likely if broken an elemental being would be summoned.
Every time Brocc handles the minerals that were in the lead containers he gets a foreboding feeling, he recalls suddenly an engineering book on various metals and alloys and their properties for building there was mention of certain minerals that were extremely dangerous to be in proximity to and especially deadly if ingested as they were highly poisonous. The book postulated that the heat emitted by these stones could damage living things and cause diseases of the blood and bones. He gets the very strong feeling that he and banzo should wash their hands immediately and place these minerals back in their cannisters post-haste.
( OOC: The two minerals are respectively Uranium and Thorium ores with high levels of radium and radon.)
Brocc puts the minerals of concern away and quickly washes his hands. "Anyone who has touched those wash quick, that stuff is dangerous if touched for too long..." He glances over when the idea of using it as a weapon comes up. "I think the danger from those minerals is more long-term than short-term, but it is worth considering using it as a weapon, if we could find a way to make it lethal faster." He finishes washing up and nods to the diamond stone. "That one though holds the essence of an earth elemental inside of it. If broken open it will summon that being to do the summoner's bidding for a time."
Banzo pushes the door open and finds himself in a rather odd room with a domed ceiling studded with bright glowing crystals, the room is packed floor to ceiling with tiered garden beds containing many different varieties of plants. A large pool of clear water lies in the centre of the room bubbling up gently in the centre and crystalline cables connect the tiers to the pool water transferring along them through some unknown means.
At the rear of the room is a large overhang containing a profusion of subterranean fungi and other flora. A set of steps leads to the top of the overhang where a heavy vault door is set into the wall.
Either side of the door are an assortment of hatches and moving slowly about the room are three spider-like constructs somewhat similar to Broccs steed, though these are armed with delicate shears, tillers, and other small gardening tools.

Zeltheris finds a drawer of quartz crystal that definitely resembles the demon.
During his search he also finds:
- Opals- 3000 gp worth.
- Emeralds- 2000 gp worth
- Topaz- 400 gp worth
- Rubies- 1000 gp worth
- Jade- 600 gp worth.

Zeltheris looks to Brocc, "Unless you think they could help us fight that thing?"
Zeltheris reaches for the indicated stone, "I could take that, the rest of you are far more useful things to do in combat than I do."
( Are we finished in here? Heading across the corridor or further down?)
