Thom would come down the stairs and do a few stretches. "Top of the mornin' lads! And lasses!"
He would bid a pleasant farewell to Torinn, and then join Connar for some sausages. He laughs at him when he mentions that we are heros "Bah! Heros we are not! Although it's nice to think so I suppose."Tom grins at Connar then sees Hatch come down, being his quiet self. Tom was sure glad the tiefling was on our side.
Then responds to Litty: "Pleased to meet you Litty. The name's Tom. Ay, we were able to luckily stifle the undeads plans, and you know, stop the dungeon from landing on the city. No big deal." Tom laughs and hopes that Connar does too.
Tom notices Litty standing behind Hatch. Obviously he doesn't see the pickpocket happen because of that roll... but nonetheless he can see the halfling just standing behind Hatch, and he thinks it's creepy. "Have you never seen a tiefling or something, friend? Are you looking at his tail? It's quite interesting, isn't it?" this would get Hatch's attention and ensure no other pickpockets occur I would think.
OOC: Dude... what are you doing?
Connar suddenly grabbed the halfling by the arm and twisted its arm viciously dropping five gold pieces onto the ground he carried it to the door of the inn and threw it outside.
" Man can't even have breakfast in peace."
" Tom, how are you feeling this morning? Sad to see Torinn go."
"Ay... can't say I'm surprised though. I didn't like the look of him since I came down for breakfast. Thanks for taking care of him!"
"Now then... shall we go spend some money boys?!" Tom would vigorously pat Hatch on the back in an awkward and perhaps annoying way, trying to rouse the quiet tiefling a bit.
Rufus comes scampering down the stairs. He throws himself into a chair as he helps himself to sausages, onions, and bread. He looks around at Tom, Connar, and Hatch. He sees they are irritated about something; but he is unsure what. He says to the three of them between bites, "What should we be about today then lads? We be in port with all manner of riches to be spent. After a nights rest I be ready to stroll about this town to see what we can find. Surely there be adventure in such a place as this for the bold." Rufus tucks into his second plate as he finishes speaking.
Brocc would be a little later to get down this morning. His spear and shield would have some new magical runes on them and detect as magical to anyone detecting such with magic.
Catching the last bit of a halfling getting tossed out on his ear, Brocc shrugs and moves over to eat.
"Yes, it would be nice to do some buying at the market." Brocc agrees as he eats. "Sell off some of that stuff we don't need as well, then see if there is any work to be done around here."
Litty will then try to get out of connar’s grasp then look at him and say
“Connar you have real good eyesight good thing you can spot pickpockets that well, most people can’t I was just testing you guys, I was going to give the money back afterward”
he will then scratch his hair “though I dont want you to get the wrong idea but, in my current position it’s impossible not to”
"Mornin' Rufus, Brocc! Yep sounds good about splitting up the loot. Maybe we sell it all in one spot and then we divide up the result. Looks like most of the lot is gems and jewelry... maybe we hit up the finest jeweler in town as a starting point, then go from there? I know myself I'm lookin' to get a new bow... perhaps a blade as well."
Rufus nods at the suggestion of selling their treasures removed from the dungeon. He says, "I be interested in the ring. Perhaps it be enchanted somewhat. The rest be such as it may, be for selling for gold to be sure." Rufus let's out a contented belch as he finishes his third helping.
Hatch retrieves his coins and thanks Connar for dealing with the pickpocket. It seems the near-theft has thoroughly awoken him.
"I agree to selling up the loot and splitting the result fairly between us, and getting the ring check out like Rufus suggests. And then I'd like to look into getting some magic equipment if they have any to sell around here. Otherwise I can't think of much I need as long as I have my armor and my axes."
Emerging from the inn the city square was a hive of activity with dozens of stalls set up and merchants hawking their wares. The square was dominated by a stone dragon fountain.
To the left was a street marked ' Silver Street' which seemed dominated by a large number of jewellery stores, silver-smiths and the like.
Across from them barely visible through the crowded stalls was another street signed as ' Armoury Lane', and to their right was the unsigned ' Beggars Alley' that they had come down last night from 'Lion Street'.
The stalls and tents that crowded the market seemed to sell everything from weapons, armor, potions, lotions, herbs, spices, grain, livestock, semi-precious stones, jewellery, silk, furs, fine textiles to exotic foodstuffs.
OOC:
You can find pretty much anything from the Equipment lists at listed prices amongst these stalls ( though magical items are limited to potions and the like. And there are no firearms.).
Hatch suggests they sell the gems and jewellery before shopping proper, heading off towards Silver Street.
Looking off towards Silver Street, which runs west from the square, the companions see a narrow cobbled street lined with small houses and shops, mainly belonging to jewellers and silversmiths. Jethro's Jewels is the second closest to the market square.
Hatch leads the way down Silver Street heading towards Jethros, opening the door he sees a white haired old man with a tray of gold rings placing them on shelves. A large Man-Orc....possibly a Half-Orc...stands beside the counter.
"Jethro huh? Looks as good as anywhere else," Hatch said, agreeing with Rufus while grabbing the loot sack, fishing out the gems and jewellery, and walking in and up to the counter.
Rufus eyes the shopkeeper as he reviews the goods for sale. He says to him, "Be ye Jethro then? Nay, not ill gotten to be sure. They be liberated from the skeletal clutches of the ancient evil wizard we defeated just outside the gates of this here fair city yester evening. We be looking to sell the spoils of our daring venture. Surely tis the talk of the town and ye good sir be getting first look at the treasures. Ye could market them as such truthfully mind ye. Might their fame be warranting an increase to purchased by your clients. To say I be wearing treasures from yon flying dungeon, might appeal to some. Be ye interested? If ye be not, we be taking them down yon street to find a more adventurous merchant to be dealing with to be sure." Rufus flashes a large grin, conveying without words he understands the benefit of selling and buying at the height of the gossip and curiousity regarding their feat and the ruins of the dungeon so close to Chalice. Also conveying that the shopkeeper can capitalize on it as well or see a competitor do so.

The guard looked impressed and the old man grinned widely.
" Oh....your a sharp one aren't you little man."
" I'll give you forty gold for the citrine and jasper, fifty for the quartz. The ancient jewellry.....two hundred and fifty?"

Brocc would cast detect magic to see if anything they have is actually magical, prior to heading out.
The ring appears to be magical...if not overly powerful.
(Is there a shop where we can get the magic ring identified? And I think we should sell the gems first in case identifying the ring will cost gold)
Hatch walks into whatever looks to be the most promising establishment to sell their treasure.

Rufus eyes Jethro's Jewels as they approach. He looks at the others and says, "This be a likely shop for all our gems and jewelry no doubt."
"Jethro huh? Looks as good as anywhere else," Hatch said, agreeing with Rufus while grabbing the loot sack, fishing out the gems and jewellery, and walking in and up to the counter.
" Oh! Straight to business then.", said the old man.
The Man-Orc Guard raised an eyebrow at their weapons and armour but remained silent.
" Some nice stones here....nice stones. Some of these settings are a bit gauche......", he waggled his white eyebrows.
" Not ill-gotten gains are they?"
Rufus eyes the shopkeeper as he reviews the goods for sale. He says to him, "Be ye Jethro then? Nay, not ill gotten to be sure.
