Sthara is taken aback by the response of the woman to her greeting. She mulls over what has been said and finally responds.
"I have no connection to my kind, as my brood left me to die. And though the yuan-ti have the watchful eye of Sseth in flight above them, the god never came for me – but Ubtao did. I have not encountered many of my race since childhood, nor do I hold feelings one way or the other about them, save for their desire to exercise Sseth's will. Ras Nsi, however, betrayer of Mezro is not someone I would ever associate with save to decorate the earth with his scales. If he is alive and you know where he is, I would gladly kill him. However, igqwirha elimhlophe, you are an interloper in a foreign land and I would urge you to be prepared and careful when stirring Chult's residents, as the one thing I know to be true of yuan-ti, as with the raptors, is that they are bestial and ruthless."
She pauses and adds a final thought. "Your compatriot Valindra seems to understand this, as she's hidden herself away up in the clouds away from near all living things, save the birds and bats."
Zagmira give Sthara a nod of deference at the mention of Valindra. Still thoughtful, she replies, "Valindra seems to understand many things. It is why her station is so elevated. What if you were to be associated with Ras Nsi? - at least in theory. You could easily gain access to their tunnels under the palace and pose as the captor of these people." She gestures to the rest of the party. Eku scowls at the woman, but she fails to notice and continues, "I have a spy that infiltrated their nest some time back and have not heard from them..." She goes back to pondering and lets the sentence die away.
"Listen, why don´t you just tell us what you know? Do you think we make a decision on what we have heard so far? Because it is nothing so far. And what is in it for us if we agree? We also need some insurance you don´t leave us there to rot and swoop in to claim whatever you want when we have been sacrificed or eaten by the snakes. If you wanna make a deal, we need to know the term first."
Lemon stood there perplexed after the words Sthara had said and everyones comments henceforth. He learned to the side, almost like some character butting into something and said, "Ye all be mentionin' this 'er Valindra. Who be 'er? Some being in the sky?" He looked to the sky perplexed. "She watchin' us now?" Absent-mindedly he waved upwards, then went back to the groups.
Zagmira nods slowly and says, "Perhaps if we meet again and our goals align further, we can work together." She then proceeds to make a 'wrap it up' sign with her hand and they all turn to leave. Over Zagmira's shoulder she says, "Orvex! I assume your master is among the dead in the compound? Come."
Orvex doesn't look surprised by the command, but he stands clearly torn with the decision.
Grimacing some from her injuries, Nenne pushes herself up to a standing position and walks over to Orvex. She clasps him on the shoulder and says quietly, "Do what you must. We will not fault you."
Boosey turns to Orvex. "You should go with them, for your own safety. I fear for you if you decide to stay with us and we are in no fit state for a fight, besides as Allister says, you know where we are and we can always try to find you. Stay safe, friend!"
"Wait, before you go," Nenne says, catching up to him. She fishes something from her pack and hands it to him, grinning somewhat. "A gift to remember how we met you - under a pile of rubble. May it bring you luck." And she passes him the Sending Stone.
"Goodbye human. That good ol' shot ye made back against those tin cans? Ye did well." Lemon smiled and gave him a thumbs up as Ovrex left, giving him one of his crazy smiles as well.
After some time Lemon looks back to the group and, "So! Who be this darlin' of a lady named Valindra?"
Some time after the Thayan party have departed, the six companions feel rested and ready to move again. Eku makes the comment, "I do not trust those wizards. We should keep an eye out for them. I do not think this is the last we've seen of them. What was she talking about? A spy under the palace?"
"Great, now we have another threat to deal with. The dangers inside the tombs, random monsters, this Ras Nsi lunatic, and now a group of at least four Red Wizards. We really need to hurry up and finish our business here, or else we will have to deal with more than we can handle. And we also don´t know what she was talking about. I wonder why of the the wizards didn´t shave his head..."
The cleric scowls. "Encountering them was an inevitability. What concerns me is why they parted ways with us so casually. Orvex told us they were investigating shrines before we arrived, and Zagmira clearly knows this place is one. They could have easily looked inside or done what they pleased while we were too weary to resist. The fact that they did not makes me think their agenda is more pressing - and that they intend to use us."
She sighs. "I gave Orvex the speaking stone. Perhaps we can continue gathering intelligence on the wizards through that. He's a canny enough fellow; I trust him with it. And as to your question, beastspeaker..." Her skin turns a shade of mulberry as her anger rises. "Valindra is a walking sin, a selfish undead mage who sent us to Omu. We had to enter an agreement to survive our encounter with her, and she promised to retrieve the Soulmonger from us upon our finding it." She glances at Allister. "So don't forget to add her to the list of dangers awaiting us in this wretched place. We will surely meet her again soon."
Eku gestures to the shrine and says, "That cube in there...Do you think the red wizards know what to do with them? If that is the case, and they unlock the soulmonger, I strongly suggest we keep them very far from their kind."
"Orvex said they are looking for an artifact called the Ring of Winter. They had visited some of the shrines but he doesn´t know what they did there because he was not allowed to follow them. But we got the cubes from some of the shrines they have already visited so they didn´t know they held any significance. That might change if they start torturing Orvex." Allister balls his fists. "Damn, we shoudn´t have let him go."
Ooc: a bit late but it would be good for Orvex to keep a weapon
As Orvex hands back Boosey's sling he says, "there's no need. You should keep it, to be unarmed in this city is to invite death. I'm sure you'll get the chance to return it to me sooner or later," and he gives the scribe an encouraging smile.
Once the Wizards have departed he plays a soft and gentle melody for a while as the party rests. "I don't believe this Zagmira has any idea why we are here. She made a lot of assumptions about us, very few were even close to the truth. We have to trust Orvex, and I believe he will try to return to us," the gnome looks worried, "though that may come with a rekoning! It looks like Zagmira treats him as a fool. That could work to our advantage, he is anything but" He pulls out his pipe and starts to smoke, sending small smoke rings into the air above the pond. Looking thoughtful he says, "they certainly know of Valindra, though what their relationship is with her we cannot say for certain."
"As for the Yuan-ti, we have a problem there too. I said before that on my flight with Lemon there were many of them attacking two of the northernmost shrines, the ones that seem to be swamped with water. We will have to deal with them, one way or another if we are to recover the cubes from those places." He gives a nod to Eku, "I agree, we should keep the Wizards away from the cubes at all costs, but if they believe that they can manipulate us to their will, that could be to our advantage. For a while at least."

The woman puts a hand out and asks, "Have you gone into any of the shrines? Is that one there?" She points to the structure behind the party.

"We were attacked before we could explore the building, I'm afraid," Nenne says.
Zagmira nods slowly and says, "Perhaps if we meet again and our goals align further, we can work together." She then proceeds to make a 'wrap it up' sign with her hand and they all turn to leave. Boosey turns to Orvex. "You should go with them, for your own safety. I fear for you if you decide to stay with us and we are in no fit state for a fight, besides as Allister says, you know where we are and we can always try to find you. Stay safe, friend!"
Orvex nods in understanding and hands the sling back to Boosey before saying, "Farewell. Be safe." Then he goes after the group of evil mages.
"Wait, before you go," Nenne says, catching up to him. She fishes something from her pack and hands it to him, grinning somewhat. "A gift to remember how we met you - under a pile of rubble. May it bring you luck." And she passes him the Sending Stone.

Orvex shakes Nennes hand and pockets the stone quietly. On his way by Allister, he gives him a wink and says, "It's all about misdirection."
