Lightning crashes down, taking the wizard on the ground by surprise. The skeleton and Zagmira leap to the side of the lightning attack, partially themselves from some of the spell's harmful effect. The skeleton comes forward silently and fires its shortbow at Boosey. The arrow cuts into the bard's shoulder, richoceting off his collar bone (7 damage). The pain is intense, causing the gnome to check the wound quickly. By the time he realizes that his spell is slipping, the clouds are already starting to part.
Seeing how far they are and no areas close for cover, Glimbul hides amongst the boulders while getting a view of the enemies. He waits, bow drawn, for one of the people to move closer for a more accurate shot.
Nenne sees the zombies approaching, but her eyes dart back to the flames enveloping Zagmira and her partner. Raising her shield to cover her face and free hand, she points at Zagmira's partner from behind cover and whispers, "Not in front of me, anathema," casting Dispel Magic on the wizard. Then she shifts over to d5 to cover Boosey better, gritting her teeth and pulling out her mace.
Upon waking up by a recent fall to the ground, lemon looks up groggily. He looks up to see his friends facing battle against the red wizards. He squints as well, unsure if whether he was seeing things or not as he thought usually his friends Boosey wasn't in two places at once. He gives a shrug, or at least manages to, to which he notices he is bound and tied. However, he also takes notice of the lack of guards since they now had other things on their mind.
With a twinkle in his eye and a soft hum, magical energy pools out of Lemon as he begins to change shape. His body shrinks, hairs protruding from every sot along his body. Six more arms grow alongside him as his form begins to shrink, eight eyes also grow alongside his head until finally, once finished within the couple seconds it had lasted, Lemon was now a tiny spider. His restraints falling off of his form, the spider moves to an open spot to where it could potentially grab a club. It looks to Zagmira, then to his friends, and nods his head that he knows what to do.
Zagmira's companion mage shouts in frustration as the magics surrounding him pop out of existence. He runs forward uttering an incantation surely to bring the cleric pain, but is interrupted on his way over by Glimbul. The small gnome releases his shot that he so patiently waited for. The arrow flies through the air to puncture the wizard's gut. A cry of pain escapes his lips and self preservation comes into play before any personal vendetta he has ro settle with the cleric. He turns the spell on the exposed rogue, but is just a bit too late as Glibul slides down behind the rock completely. Shards of stone pop as the lightning comes into contact with the barrier, but Glimbul comes away unscathed.
Zagmira's spell is an interesting one in the fact that her movements become faster and faster until she is a blur of motion entirely. She disappears entirely after that, leaving the rock empty. When she reappears, the effect is deadly. She is very close to the party now and a cone of bitter cold erupts from her hands, covering Boosey, Nenne, and Glimbul. The biting frost is one of utter destruction that steals the three companion's breath away and pains their lungs and bodies. Luckily, the spell is only momentary and not something they have to endure for longer. When the whispy mists of cold clear, Zagmira is surrounded by a ball of translucent, golden energy.
Allister feels like a fool as the hooded figures at the boulder turn out to be zombies that are not even interested in attacking him. He dashes towards the nearer zombie, stabbing with his rapier. His first attack is parried, but his second pierces the zombie´s chest. His cutlass opens a bloodless gash just next to the first wound. As he concentrates on another attack Allister spots the other wizard standing in the open field, and, risking an attack on his open flank, rushes to engage him.
Boosey, having taken the attack by Zagmira, retreats back to the other side of the stump. He peers round, eyes narrowing at the magic surrounding her. Still, he tries again to summon lightning, the storm slowly appearing above the wizard. As he releases the lightning from the storm, he stifles a curse as the strike seems to fizzle out round her causing a harmless light show on her magical forcefield.
Eku and Orvex show up on the road coming from the south. Eku doesn't waste a second and flies straight to Zagmira. She bites down on the mage's hip and Zagmira swats her with her staff to get her off. The red wizard shakes her head as if trying to clear her vision and stumbles a bit. She lets out a roar in frustration and the barrier surrounding her collapses at the same time she does.
The skeleton turns and fires at Allister, but the arrow hits nothing.
Still reeling from the cold glimbul shivers uncontrollably preventing him from hiding. Content seeing the serpent drop Zagmira he aims for the other mage but due to the cold he isnt able to pull back hard enough on his bow having the arrow bounce off a magical shield from one of his rings.
Orvex dashes for a small rock formation just off the side of the road. His quick feet take him to the cover and he lets loose a sling bullet. It cracks against the mage between the scribe and Allister, causing him to jerk in pain. A glare from the mage has Orvex ducking low behind the cover.
The remaining zombie makes its way across the battlefield slowly. Its hood falls back on the way over, revealing the tattooed head of a once mighty red wizard.
Nenne's heart swells at the sight of her celestial friend and rose gold highlights flood into her white curls. She places two delicate fingers on her holy symbol as a crimson shimmer rests on herself, Eku, Boosey, and Glimbul. "Fight bravely, and stay alive for me," she says to her friends. (Bless - 2nd level)
Rolling her eyes at the zombie in front of her, Nenne vanishes from the field. (Fey Step)
The southern side of the battlefield seems to be going well for the moment, but all heads turn as a roar erupts from the north. The same roar that has been heard from the other side of the city for days now comes from a huge reptile covered in feather with teeth as long as shortswords. The creature roars again as it enters the battlefield as its own champion. The color drains from the mage's already pale face.
Lemon, experiencing freedom for the first time in what seemed like forever, shivered in mad glee, and doing other happy spider noises. He was so overwhelmed, that he at first didn't register the arrival of Eku, and when he did, all eight eyes beemed in suprise. He knew it was an ally when the flying beast went straight for Zagmira. The spider then turned his head over once more at then arrival of a greater beast, and smiled, or at least, seemed to.
Lemon knew wild nature was one to be recond with, however, his allies needed all the help they could get, and he always loved these type of beasts. Stepping forward, his form began to pool out energy once more that seeped into the ground. His form shimmered and quake as his real self stood in the place the spider was once in.
Reaching his hands outwards, and stepping forward (J13) he looked to the beast and cast his spell. They needed it tamed first, and in order to do that... he cast Animal Friendship (DC Wisdom 14) on it. He looked to the beast, and spoke softly. "Ye amazin' beast! Please be calm fer but a moment, an' let us helo each oth'er out."
Allister closes in on magic-stripped mage faster than the red wizard would like. He gives a courtesy glance to the fighter, but sizes the massive beast up on the far end of the battlefield. He looks to Zagmira as he flees the fighter and says, "Nope. I'll get promoted if you don't come back," and casts a spell. He folds in on himself until he no longer exists.
Zagmira continues to burn on the ground with her head in the dirt.
Again Allister has to find another target. Running over the battlefield has made him pretty angry, and as the runs to the skeleton to his left the anger blinds him to the remains of the yuan-ti on the ground. He slips on the carcass, waving his arms around to keep his balance and thous missing his attacks with his rapier. The skeleton notices his comical attempts to stay upright it charges him. But Allister regains his footing and swings his cutlass at its head, smashing the skull and ending its unholy existence.
From behind his stump, Boosey watches the exchange between Zagmira and Eku, seeing her fall to the ground. Moving the point of the storm To avoid hitting Eku he sends another blast of lightning into her, three strikes striking in quick succession with loud satisfying cracks.
The massive lizard doesn't react to Lemon's words. The druid knows sometimes patience is required and holds his ground, but the reptile comes on teeth bared. The sharp toothed max clamps down over Lemon, taking him along in the creatures press forward. The teeth puncture Lemon in too many places to count (36 piercing damage) and holds the dwarf fast. The creature barrels towards Allister and the fighter readies himself to get out of the way. Then something happens that no one expects:
The King of Feathers teleports.
The creatures turns into vapor and appears right beside Allister! It is only by sheer luck that the warrior manages to get out of the way of the massive tail that swings over his head. As large as a tree trunk, there is no doubt in the warrior's mind that a few ribs would break under that pressure.
Lemon falls to the ground, bouncing along as he is left behind (3 bludgeoning damage).
Eku tries biting the wizard again, but fails to make contact as the woman rolls to the side.
Orvex comes out from behind his cover only long enough to let the sling bullet fly towards the huge beast. He ducks down before he even sees the projectile soar over the tall creature.
The zombie moans and comes over to Boosey trying to get at him. The gnome kicks the thing away twice, but manages to stay ahead of any of its persistent attacks.
