"There is an amulet here, in amongst the treasure. A heart in a cage of what looks like Platinum! Badger, is this one of the things you might be looking for? If we need to move anything off this, let me use mage hand from a safe distance."
The eladrin points around the room. "The amulet is magical. I cannot identify what kind. The cauldrons and shield all carry conjuration magic. I would hazard a guess that they animate, as the warriors did in the kamadan's shrine, if my hypothesis is correct."
Suddenly Glimbul’s eyes widen and then looks to the 6 cauldron before saying, “Everyone, Obo’laka tells me this is Papazotl’s tomb and that the cauldrons are filled with his most devout believers. And that they may even protect him in death. We should be careful not to invoke their wrath!”
Distracted for a moment by the callout for the potential destined relic Glimbul looks at it with curiosity before looking away. “Its looks do not match the description of any items I am looking for, but it could be of some use still. Although we should be careful not to touch too much without know how to undo the trap.”
The cleric tosses him a hesitant glance. "That could be, as well," she says mildly. "It seems unlikely we'll avoid triggering this trap, but we shall endeavor to be careful. How...kind of your guest to be so unexpectedly helpful."
She eyes him a moment longer before looking back at the closed door. "Perhaps we should have more strength on standby if we need to make an expeditious egress. Or a defense against magical dangers." She places her staff on the ground and hisses, "Release!" Immediately, the giant serpent appears, awaiting its master's instructions. "Stand guard, Aoda, and be ready to defend us against attackers."
Boosey takes stock of what Glimbul said about the cauldrons. “It may well be that the bones will animate too then,” and he looks to see how many skulls are in the room
He doesn’t bother finishing the count. He gets to twenty and stops, with seemingly hundreds of skulls still littering the room and the cauldrons. His face pales and he says, “there will be a lot. Hundreds. We had better hope these don’t come to life!”
Orvex lights a torch so he can keep light on the sarcophagus. He busies himself sketching everything as it sits now and writing small passages on the following pages. He thumbs through the few pages left and sighs at the amount of room left. The scribe says to Boosey, "I cannot tell you how terrified I am right now, but there is a healthy mix of excitement here! I would have traveled across the Calimshan Desert shoe-less for a chance at this!"
The gnome smiles at Orvex. “There are treasures here beyond gold and trinkets.” His face darkens. “I just hope we will survive to be able to tell the tale.”
“Sorry Nenne. You mentioned Glimbul. I have been watching him, and he seems to be acting a little differently. It may be Obo’laka having an influence on him. I seem to have taken on some of Moa’s traits.”
Allister walks past the chariot and takes a closer look at the statues. „There’s some damage on them, looks like they were attacked. So they will probably start moving when we do what we are not supposed to do... or supposed to do.“
Lemon looked to the party and gave a nod. "We be havin' to take this 'ere amulet?" He gives a glance to the amulet and asks, "I be willin' to take it. Howev'er, I be needin' to know if ye all agree or not."
Lemon rubs his hands together and reaches for the amulet. It comes off the chariot without any issues. Nothing seems to happen at first, and everyone is relieved and suspicious all at once. Shadows begin to dance in the corners of your eyes. Everyone tenses as they become more and more prevalent. Shadows of long legged birds running along the walls capture everyone's attention. Suddenly, the shadowy form of an eblis leaps up out of the floor, pouncing onto Lemon, seeming to stick onto his person the shadow pecks its long beak down onto the dwarf's head.
If this scene wasn't bad enough, the bones around the cauldrons assimilate into skeletal forms of varying sizes, pieced together. There are twelve in total, and they move in aggressively to attack.
Allister meets the first skeleton with a flurry of blades, leaving a blackened pile of bones in his wake. He parries an attack by another skeleton, the riposte hits the skull and breaks most of the lower jaw off. As more enemies rush in his direction Allister takes a defensive stance.
The skeletons swarm in mass attacking whoever is closest. Three swarm the giant serpent, only two of which actually his the large beast (5 and 8 bludgeoning damage).
Three more swarm Lemon as he fights against the shadow pecking at his head. The first skeleton gets kicked to the side by Lemon's wild fit, but the other two manage to harm him. The dwarf gets whacked with a femur bone on his sternum (4 bludgeoning damage) and bonked on his bald spot, splitting the skin there (6 bludgeoning damage). With the threat of the skeletons so readily apparent, Papazotl seizes the moment and violently pecks his way inside the dwarf. With each peck, he becomes more and more a part of Lemon until the shadow is just gone. Cursing in some language that no one can even hope to understand, the dwarf's eyes alight with fury upon the skeletons.
Orvex tries hard to defend against his two attackers, but his fear is almost palpable. He scrambles more than defends and it costs him a black eye and a bloody forearm.
Allister completely shuts down the skeleton that tries to pay him vengeance, but is beat by another from his flank (4 bludgeoning damage).
Nenne gives the skeleton approaching her a sour look and raises her shield behind an eye roll to block the sloppy attack coming her way.
Seeing the skeleton in front of him cleared away he gos to support the fighter and fires an arrow into the skull of the skeleton behind him. The skull goes flying across the room before shattering on the floor.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Veins thick as vines show themselves as Lemon tenses in anger and anticipation. "SHOW YE?! Ye be bowin' to me bird! I be bowin' to no creature!"
Slamming his hands on his chest Lemon roared in rage. His features began to change once more into that of an Allosaurus (with of course, the bald spot on it's head). The Allosaurus glared angrily at one of the undead a lunged it's head at the skeleton. Attempting to tear it's head from its undead body.
Lemon fails to gauge the distance properly and ends up punching his large mouth down into the skeleton further than expected. The creature's bones go shattering across the chamber.

Allister still looks at the statues. „Go ahead.“

The skeleton that approaches Boosey, Neene and Glimbul is hit by a bout of sound that rattles around in its empty skull.
The creature just collapses in a heap of bones and Boosey quickly move forwards to support Allister
