Tilting his head, Havel said to Boosey, "Year? It is 1340. I came here on account that hundreds of Chult citizens disappeared all in one night. I came apon a compound and discovered that the lich was holding a slave compound to build some....thing. I was captured when the lich himself discovered of my process. He put me in a stasis, and now we are here. In some... 'tomb' as you've put it. So I'm guessing it is 1350. We must stop him so that he does not make anymore... monstrosities."
"OK, no time for history lessons. You have missed more than a century of different turmoils. But that is irrelevant for our situation. You are in a tomb that sealed itself after we entered. So there is no way out unless we defeat the evil bastard who built this place. Antagonizing the people who freed you is pretty dumb. So unless you want to journey through this hell on your own I think you owe some people an explanation and an apology."
"I already gave you an explanation, an explanation to everything in fact. Am I now to explain the explanation?" He looks to the group, and once more attempts to brush gently past everyone. "I see that I was in there longer than I thought. To my guessing, it was the stasis that made me think so."
"There will be no apologies on my end, however I shall watch the words that form on my tongue so I don't... offend anyone." He also gives a point to Glimbul and his nocked arrow, saying out lound just in case, "and please refrain from shooting that at me. We wouldn't want the arrow deciding a new target now would we?"
"130 years in a bottle," Boosey says in wonder. "Work with us to destroy this Lich. I think it is safe to say that your original mission here has failed, in fact you may now be standing deep inside the result of that failure. You would not want to travel this place alone, as I have said already Havel. Do not tempt us to leave you to fend for yourself, we would all come to regret that."
He approaches Harvel and says, "Your time in that bottle may have addled your brain and your manners. Whether it has or hasn't, I care not. Do. Not. Cross. Us," and he punctuates this by prodding the elf in the midriff. "You will find us loyal and steadfast companions, If you manage to find some courtesy somewhere." Boosey shrugs, "or return to your bottle and wait for another hundred and thirty years. Perchance your saviours then will dispose of you out of hand."
"Do not bring manners into this again. Though it may not seem like it, and I am thankful for being taken out of the bottle. However, it seems all of us here have failed in manners. One for the nocked arrow, two for what I reason is the way I came off, three the constant message of 'no crossing'- and I have yet to say that I will, and lastly four. For the constant bickering"
"I also understand that my task has failed, that is why I must travel with you. However, I do not plan to stay afterwards. I was sent to deal with the lich, not any other worldly affairs. Now, can we please continue onwards? I would help you wherever possible, but it seems that won't be the case for a short while until I get my bearings of what this place actually is."
"You may still have patience, Boosey, but I don´t. You", he points at the elf, "be on your way. Don´t interfere with us, listen to the gnome. And good luck with the guardian." Turning towards Nenne, Glimbul and Boosey "Come, my friends, we have to continue." Suddenly Allister speaks and speaks without really saying anything...
@Glimbul in Thieves´ Cant
"We better watch out for this freak. Nobody stays alone in the back."
Nenne looks at her friends, valiantly reining in her outrage, and says, "Let him pass. This tomb will be his teacher, and should his goddess look favorably upon him, he may even absorb some of its lessons before it is too late. But I will not put my life, let alone yours, in the hands of a man who does not seem to acknowledge their value. And I will not stand for the sacrifices of the dead-" she jabs a finger at Orvex and Lemon, tears brimming in her eyes "-and the sacrifices we made to save them be so disrespected. Not by some lich who mocks order from his cowardly throne, and certainly not by an arrogant fool who cannot bring himself to listen when he knows he lacks knowledge."
To Havel she says, "Watch where you step. There are deadly traps and creatures here. Kelemvor judge you fairly." And with that, she turns away and begins to cry silently.
Glimbul nods to Allister, “It seems we agree that you should be on your own. Personally I wouldn’t want to be around someone I can’t trust in a place like this” He lowers his bow and arrow. “You best leave, and we can help see to it that you do”
Obviously unable to lift the exit door on his own, the party helps Havel open it and lets it fall between them with a resounding thud. The heavy door closes as a definite physical manifestation of a wedge between personalities. The monk doesn't waste any time lingerimg at the door, leaving the party alone in Papazotl's tomb once more.
"There is no good to be found here," Nenne mourns quietly. She sits down next to Lemon's remains and carefully picks up the magical jar of salve he left behind. "And it is our lot and our duty to keep discovering that." She cradles the jar in her hand as more silent tears slide down her cheeks.
Glimbul nods, “You’re right. We need to keep moving forward to avenge them.” He moves to the secret passage and begins to look along the floors and walls.
Carefully stowing the salve in her pack, the cleric rises and walks to Boosey. She bends down and kisses him lightly on the forehead, her amulet glowing a deep ruby as she does. "You are a kind and patient soul, friend storyteller," she says as she straightens. "Always extending favor to those who do not deserve it. Thank you for being a tireless picture of grace. Kelemvor's blessing upon you."
Glimbul and Allister check the cobweb-filled passage further, but are unable to find any sort of mechanism or release for any other doors. Glimbul does believe the wall at the end of the corridor sounds different than the rest of the hallway when he taps his dagger against it though.
If it doesn’t move he says „Maybe it’s like on the first floor and we can access this tunnel from another room. We have other places to visit, let’s move on.“
Just before the party leaves the passage, Boosey pulls out his Tinker's Tools and prods the area around which was making the hollow noise, to see if some sort of mechanism is triggered
While Boosey is prodding, He notes a couple areas on the side wall lacking mortar. Sticking a slender object from his kit inside makes a hollow click. The door doesn't open, but the gnome keeps trying until he's got several pieces of his kit all stuck in the wall. Scratching his head for a moment, a though occurs to him. He tries inserting each one in a different order until Pop! The door into the next room bounces open, giving the bard a scare.
The air in the small hallway quickly fills with the pungent odor of sulfur and brimstone. When no danger presents itself immediately, Boosey steals a look inside the room, making sure to stay in the hallway. On the floor of the next chamber, a pentagram traced in salt surrounds an ornate sarcophagus, its lid covered with figurines of prancing frog-like humanoids. A two foot diameter hole is cut into the north wall at a height of about three feet.
Allister puts his hand over his mouth as nose as the unpleasant smell assaults him. He takes a step into the the room and looks around. „Could this be Nangnangˋs tomb? That evil grung god?“
Boosey enters the chamber slowly, being meticulously careful not to touch any of the salt on the ground. Creeping round the edge of the room he makes his way to the hole in the wall, looking for anything that might trigger a trap from the floor or wall.
