„I start to feel as useless as nipples on my halfplate.“ Allister picks up another lighted stone and approaches the snail, looking for carvings, holes etc.
"The keys are thin?" Sthara muses as she makes her way over to retrieve them. With them in hand, she stacks the keys on top of one another, weighing them in her hand.

Do the teeth line up to look more like a normal / "floor" key?
"The keyhole seems designed for a complex key rather than a simple one," Nenne says, stepping away from the wall and continuing her investigation of the walls.
Seeing that the stacked keys now resemble the others that were in the other building, Sthara rushes to the pedestal with them, holding them tightly so that they're aligned.
"On guard, all. I am going to try the stacked keys in the keyhole here. Hopefully this will be less alarming than Shagambi's temple..." She curses a few times under her breath and sticks the keys in, and turns them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the keys are turned in the mechanism, sthara has to pull her hand away quickly as they are ejected forcefully. The snail statue glows intensely and then brilliant rays of light blast out from the statue at everyone in the room.
"Is anyone injured?" Nenne cries out, blinking the spots from her eyes. She sees Sthara on the ground and rushes to her, helping her stand. "You do not look well, my friend. Perhaps you should rest outside." Her eyes drop to the combined key in the yuan-ti's hand and a sudden thought strikes her. She takes the key from Sthara and rushes over to the pile of keys on the floor. She locates a match and grasps it triumphantly.
"I believe I might have found the correct one," she says, showing it to the others.
Nenne is on her way to assist the fighter when she pivots and runs toward the scribe. "Stay still! Stay still! You will be fine." (Healing word for 5 HP) Her eyes dart to the other mages, silently asking for their help in restoring Orvex to health.
"That was...painful. Endure." Sthara speaks her healing word to mend her wounds. Looking around, it appears as though Boosey is in worse straights. Orvex doesn't look well either. Taking a minute to whisper into the pearl around her neck, it begins to glow and send droplets that shine down her chest, which are quickly absorbed into her skin.
Tapping into the Pearl of Power to get a level three slot back.
"Boosey, endure. You too Orvex." (twincasting healing word at third level for 8 and 15 for healing – empowered healing on the former to reroll those ones: 5).
Lemon, amazed by the light, takes into account its dangers a little too late. Multiple rays of light impale his sides as he takes it all in. As he grunts through the pain, Lemon places his hand on his sides and it begins to mend itself (Healing Word second level: 8).
"Ever'one all right?" He stands up a looks at the statue. "Humf."
He looks around to the group, "I believe that to happen when that is the wrong key. Or at least, if it be right, all six must be turned at once."
Boosey, after the flash of light in the room, somehow finds himself on his hands and knees, struggling to breathe. It takes a few moments to get his breath back, and he stays in that position breathing deeply. Standing up he says, "well, that was a bit of a shock. If that happened every time someone used the wrong key, there would be no bards left in the world."
Nenne proposes the group rest a while to care for their injuries. She attends to Orvex and Boosey, whose wounds were the most severe, and moves onto Sthara and Lemon as the bard begins playing a restorative tune. After everyone is ready, she asks that they stand back as she takes the key and turns it in the lock.
With a soft click, the pedestal grinds around on the spot. As it turns, an ornate three inch stone cube corkscrews up from a concealed hatch in its surface. Dust fluffs out from the spinning pedestal as if it has not moved for quite some time.
Boosey takes a close look at it (without touching it), to see if it is sitting on a pressure pad. Noticing the carving of the snail, he'll look round the room that the party is in to try and find similar symbols.
orvex squeals in excitement and runs over grabbing at his writing tools. He says, "No, but I am going to document ALL of it!" He squeals excitedly again as he starts furiously scibbling.
The carving on the cube looks incredibly similar to the large statue in the center of the room. There are no other symbols to speak of.
Boosey comes back to the cube and examines it carefully, being sure not to touch it. He spends a bit of time looking between the carving and the statue, looking for anything that might resemble some kind of key hole or pit for the cube. The statue has two more antenna than the carving, and he looks there as well to see if any might be levers of some kind, but on inspection they seem to be well attached with no means of movement. As a last resort he gives the snail a push to see if it might move, but it is as solid as a rock and doesn't budge when he applies pressure to it.
All other avenues explored he returns to the cube. "Here wo go then," he says to the world at large, and pushes down on it, very gently at first then with increasing pressure.

The keys line up in such a way that together resemble the rest of the keys on the floor.

„I could use some help with the doors. Nenne, would you come and help me?“
Orvex screams out in pain as the lance of light hits him in the gut. Burnt flesh smell singes the air to accommodate his sobs.

The cube doesn't push down, but it does slide a bit on the surface of the pedestal. It seems to be free moving and weighs about half a pound.
