As Lo connects with the tile a swarm of locusts manifest out of all four sphinx mouths. The locusts cover Lo before he has any time to react. The tiny creatures bite down visciously (54 piercing damage).
Before he has a chance to stop him, Lo jumps and is swarmed by locusts. With a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach, Boosey moves onto the vulture square at the entrance and casts Aura of Vitality on the Goliath, hoping that it might just do enough to keep him alive.
Upon getting bitten by the swarm, Lo roars in pain and in anger. Grabbing his greatsword, Lo looks to the swarm and twists his body to swing with all of his might (35 damage).
Lo's greatsword swathes through the locusts, and some of them pop out of existence, but more importantly, as soon as Boosey's foot connects with the vulture, more locusts pour out of the sphinx mouths and surround the gnome (55 piercing damage). Boosey's cries of pain echo through the small tunnel as he retreats back into the passage whence he came.
Nenne's mind is somewhere else, so when Boosey's cries reach her ears, it effortlessly fades into the montage of what she's reliving such that she only recognizes it's him right now when he darts back into the hallway. Adrenaline floods her system and she moves before she can fully understand what is happening.
Magic and shouted prayers bursts out of her on instinct. (Spare the Dying and then Cure Wounds - 2nd level for 10 healing)
Boosey, chased out of the room and suffering badly from the locust attack he casts aura of vitality on himself to cure some of his ills. Feeling some of the deep bites ease he turns back to the room, but doesn't step any closer. He takes a couple of calming breaths before shouting to the Goliath.
"Lo, if you can hear me and you are not being attack, do not move an inch from where you are. Do not touch anything and do not say anything lest these things decide to come back and attack again. If they do come back, move to the platform but do not touch anything or move from there, even then it is likely something else might attack you. You could be there for some time because we have to wait for this room to reset before we can safely reach you." He repeats again for good measure. "Don't move or touch anything."
Once he's finished, Boosey mutters something inaudible to himself.
The party heads back to Kubazan's tomb for a rest so Lo can tend to his wounds. Allister scouts ahead stealthily, waving the party forward all the way to the tomb. On a hunch, Boosey asks the others to help him search the hallway just outside the god's tomb. When nothing is revealed there, they retire for an hour. The dungeon is suspiciously quiet save the rumbling under the floor suring this rest.
After taking in a long talk from Boosey, and many times apologizing, the party made their way to the mirror where the crystals may be placed. Pulling the one he had from his pockets, The barbarian told the group, "I have one, and there are slots to put these in correct? I believe we have all ten, so if everyone is willing to, I can start by putting mine in first."
"The placement of the stones is likely critical," Nenne speaks up quietly. It's the first time she's done so in an hour. "I'm certain their colors are not random. A gradient, perhaps. Rainbow."
As the first few orbs are placed into their sockets, they seem to hold themselves in place. With each eye that is inserted, the reflections of the characters in the mirror become progressively unhealthier — losing weight, hair, and teeth as they come to resemble undead. These changes are quite noticeable after the first five orbs have been inserted. The party does not see these changes on each other physically.
Upon Glimbul's request, the group pauses and allows Nenne time to cast Detect Magic. Her eyes momentarily flash crimson and she looks around the room. She nods weakly toward the mirror, avoiding looking at it.
"Illusion magic," she says. After a pause she adds, "As if that were a surprise."
Allister rummages through his backpack and pulls a blanket out. He tries to pry the eyeballs from the indentations but fails. „Shit, they are stuck. I’ll cover the mirror with the blanket, then we can put the other orbs in. I have a feeling this is already off to a bad start, let’s not make it worse.“
To minimize any infortunate events, the party agrees to place the remaining orbs in with Boosey's mage hand. Everyone else waits in the corridor behind him as he directs the orbs into place. The vault door grinds upward as the last orb is placed, revealing a domed, candlelit room fifty feet high. The polished marble floor is so perfectly reflective that it creates the illusion of standing at the entrance to a sphere. Nine alcoves filled with glittering treasure open up along the walls. In the middle of the chamber, a large spherical object hovers under a black silk drape twenty feet above the floor.
"Anything you see cleric? I do not know what may be behind the door, and I have not a clue on how we should precede. Should I be the first to step in?"
Glimbul slowly makes his way forward to help with looking for traps. After thoroughly checking the doorway and the room from outside the room, “I don’t see any traps, unless they are magical in nature, i think it is safe. Although the floor looks slippery, best to be careful when walking on it” He then backs away to the rear of the party.

"I see nothing," she replies. "Not from here."
She glances down at the floor and remembers what happened at I'Jin's tomb an hour ago. "Could be traps. Cannot say."
