Xanranzan cocks his head once then scratches it. "Uh... why again? I mean, apart from the general dangers this place is filled with, weren't you folk here to find some ambassadors or some such?" He then crossed his arms, and gives Tyde a wary look. "You ain't planning to just leave'm to their fate, are ya? Again, not that I don't 'preciate the gravity of the situation. But, that seems awfully cold."

"We have wandered away from the keep we believed them to be in. Maybe they're down here but if they were why not keep them locked up here. We may be close to finding them or getting further away if they're back in the keep. There's no way to know for sure."

Tyde looks from the room to the bridge and then back over his shoulder in the direction they came from by boat.

"Well, we have a lot of directions to choose from and no way to know for sure which is the right way to go."

Rubin comes back to the group after scouting the room and the bridge.  “I’ve been saying that for a bit now.” Rubin says with a nod back to the path they took in.  “We left half of the keep unchecked,a nd are down here, without any reason to even believe those we seek are down here.  I say find the gear this one lost, and backtrack to see what we can learn in the keep.”

Rubin, you hear the sound of faint talking from inside the room.  You don’t notice anything about the bridge, or the corridor.

Returning to the others... "Some people in the room there." Rubin says, nodding to the room. "Might be where our new friend's gear is..."

"We should try to capture them and question them."

Tyde gets ready to follow the group's lead.

"Wait, so you guys didn't -- Well... shoot, that make more sense." Xanranzan said and grew less tense. Whenever Rubin follows up about the voices, the earth genasi gripped what borrowed weapons he had tighter, and grinned. "I can get behind all that. Let's see if we can get the drop on these punks, and get some answers." At that, Xanranzan would follow whoever takes point.

To Xanranzan and Sorak

During the long rest, the white haired girl had busied herself with recovering the armor of the shark riding knight, then taking that and the reavers armors to hobble together some kind of chitin armor for Xanranzan and knight armor that's ok to use in water for Sorak using her Smith's tools.

(I've sent a message with the DM ahead of time and he said it was okay. What type of armor would they be, LordShadowthorn?)

To Mr. Tyde and Rubin

Also before they set off, Kethra will hold a meeting with Mr. Tyde, Rubin...as well as Jairus and Davian.

Kethra hands Old Mr. Tyde her old cloak, one of the non-tattered ones we found underneath Red Larch, folded and freshly washed, "I give you...the mantle of leadership!"

She laughs quietly, then shyly looks away. "Well..um that was a lot less corny when I said it in my head. Anyways! It's groundwater fresh, so it's the cleanest it's ever been! Unless you've got magic for that, too."

"I think it's better on your shoulders, and you're a lot better at telling him what to do, anyways." She shoots Rubin a smile.

You find 2 spare sets of scale mail lying around (the cultists are actually unarmored, that’s my bad).  You also find serviceable shark tooth long swords, as well as several shields.

You all are planning on raiding the room, then?  How do you plan on doing so?

Is there light coming from the room, or is it dark?

"If they're just talking in there we might be able to get the jump on them."

Tyde let's the others think this plan over a bit before adding, "Unless they're talking about us."

He also offers her the name of his dad's smithee back in Phandalin if ever in need of replacement tools or advice from someone with considerable experience of otherworldly techniques in the art of smithing.

Present:

"Would'n that be funny. Funnier still if they had the same idea as I had 'bout just bum rushing them. See if we catch'm off guard in a sudden blitz." Xanranzan whispered back. "But honestly, I got nuthin' fancier than that. So if that's fine, let's do this. Could also try knock'n 'nd beat up whoever opens the door before rush'n the rest. But that might be considerably more risky."

(Waiting also for confirmation about the light situation from the other side. If there doesn't seem to be any, Xan would've covered his Light, which is currently tied to a dagger, before getting too close with it.)

There is a faint light coming from under the door, probably a torch of some sort.

"Agreed." Rubin says. "Let us just attack and see if we can catch them by surprise." He moves to the door and will throw it open when the bgroup is ready.

Xanranzan takes up position just behind everyone else. In one hand he held the javelin, but in the other another weapon. He looks ready to run in as soon as the door open for plan shock and awe. Or so he called it in his head.

Tyde stands ready to follow the others into the room and strike first if possible.

(If you want surprise, roll stealth to approach the door quietly.)

"I know we just met but thanks so much Xanranzan. I'm still an apprentice when my master was killed...I still am.......but first, I need to retrieve my master's sword!" Kethra straps one of the shields to her arm and holds a javelin in the other in anticipation of what's up next.

Nodding at Mr. Tyde's orders, Kethra nods with her pale blue eyes gleaming in the cave's scattered light and volunteers to go try to sneakily go in first through the door Rubin is holding up.
