The Firbolg butcher looks up for the first time and sees the Flaming Fist banner on Ourick’s spear. Some nervousness seems to overtake him. “Oh, for the Flaming Fist it is on the house! Um, I usually make my monthly…uh…donation to Gilfort. Was there some kind of problem this month?”
As far as you can tell, the butcher is telling the truth about Tarina. However, he becomes visibly nervous when he realizes Ourick is with the Flaming Fist. You think he seems unusually nervous, even if he was worried that you and Ourick were here for a shakedown.
Macawi walks up to Journey and says, " well there is nothing in the alleyways except for a big window. I even tapped a few planks of wood to make sure they weren't hollow."
The butcher says to Ourick, "Um...OK...Well, it's three silver then. This ...Tarina...is that right?...you are looking for. Did she do something wrong?"
As you knock boards, you kick some pallets in the alley which reveals cellar doors for the butcher’s shop that are locked with a rusty lock. You think the pallets were placed there to purposefully conceal the doors.
“She owed us a favor but we need help finding her. We heard she met a friend of ours in front of your store, so we hoped you knew where she lived. But if you don’t, it’s fine.” Ourick hands him 3 silver.
While talking to Journey, she adds, " This butcher is hiding something in the basement though. He put some wood over the door. Lets see what the others find out. I'll show you after they are done."
The butcher takes the silver and wraps the jerky tightly in butcher paper. Handing the neat package to Ourick he says, “Alright, I lied. I know Tarina. I don’t know what you two are really after, but I suspect you are not trying to kill her, like the others. Some pirates came in here yesterday. Started asking me questions, a lot like you two are doing right now.” He points to his badly swollen eye. “They gave me this, said they would burn my shop down if I didn’t talk. I told them that she would be at the Elfsong tavern. But, I tried to get a message to her beforehand, to warn her. I don’t know if she got it.” He sighs seemingly disappointed with himself. “If she survived the night, my money’s on her finding a way out of the city. She could be half way to Candlekeep by now.”

You don't see anything else of interest. But, you can see Filvendor, Ourick and the butcher talking through the window.

“That is very kind of you, sir, but this is for personal use. I’ll gladly pay for it, I insist.”
Macawi walks up to Journey and says, " well there is nothing in the alleyways except for a big window. I even tapped a few planks of wood to make sure they weren't hollow."
Journey nods and says, “Nothing out of the ordinary here.”

((Macawi, go ahead and roll investigation, since you are physically investigating the building.))

For Filvendor:
You think the butcher is telling the truth. However, the way he is choosing his words carefully makes you think he is not telling you the whole story.
