Ander smiles, "Glad to hear whatever you've got. More information, the better. Hopin' things go better this time 'round," he looks over to Mardon and his daughter, "So you're the famous daughter? We've heard plenty 'bout you. We'll look after you out there," he nods towards the door as he says this with a smile, then turns back to their contact, X.
“Agreed,” Mardon says, eyeing the contact. “This is about all the bodies dropping around town, right? What can you tell us about this killer?”
He gives Esme - a half elf in her mid teens, a sidelong glance. “You’re of age to learn about your dads work, see if adventuring is something you’re interested in. But your safety is my responsibility. You’re very nearly an adult, but you’re still my little girl. I tell you to hang back, to stay safe, you listen. Otherwise I’m dropping you off to work on your studies and I’ll get you when all this mess is sorted. You’re good with that?”
"Pleasure ta meet you, miss," Ander nods to the girl with a smile, "We'll take care of you, but take care ta stay outta trouble." He then turns back to their contact, waiting for the contract information to catch a killer.
" Well sirs, in the inconvenient time of the lamp lighters guild going on strike, crime rates have sprung up recently. There are reports of bodies being stuck on the doors of residents in the sea ward. There has been a report stating the killer is half-orc, but that is still under investigation."
“Damn. That’s pretty freaky. These people, are they getting pinned to their own homes, or other people’s? Any obvious pattern in all this?” Mardon asks, reaching for his cigarettes and then noticing the movement of his hands, and putting them back in his coat.
"Well, looks like we have someone in the sea ward with an over supply of knives an' a penchant for killin'. It's a start at least. I don't think we should get stuck on the half-orc thing though, just in case."
Mardon shifts the tooth pick to the other side of his mouth. “A witness could point us in the right direction. Might be this killer don’t leave any, of course. What’s the word on that?”
"Greetings, I come with instructions for your quest."
"Hope the intel is better prepared this time around..." Rubin comments as he takes a seat.
“Agreed,” Mardon says, eyeing the contact. “This is about all the bodies dropping around town, right? What can you tell us about this killer?”

Mardon gives Ander a grateful look, then goes back to his stony faced “all business” demeanor, as he also awaits intel on the killer.
" Well sirs, in the inconvenient time of the lamp lighters guild going on strike, crime rates have sprung up recently. There are reports of bodies being stuck on the doors of residents in the sea ward. There has been a report stating the killer is half-orc, but that is still under investigation."
"I'm sorry, bodies STUCK on the doors?" Ander says as he makes some notes. "How exactly are they being stuck there?"
" Ahh, pinned by knifes on the shoulder, it;'s a wonder he has knifes to spare."
“Damn. That’s pretty freaky. These people, are they getting pinned to their own homes, or other people’s? Any obvious pattern in all this?” Mardon asks, reaching for his cigarettes and then noticing the movement of his hands, and putting them back in his coat.
" Strangers, people they don't know."
"Do they also think there's a link 'tween the strikes an' the killin's?" Ander follows up.
" We're not sure, but we don't see one."
"Well, looks like we have someone in the sea ward with an over supply of knives an' a penchant for killin'. It's a start at least. I don't think we should get stuck on the half-orc thing though, just in case."
“Any witnesses to the killings turn up yet?” Mardon gets a toothpick from the bar and settled for chewing on that instead of having a smoke, for now.
Rubin has just been sitting back, letting the others do the questioning.
Mardon shifts the tooth pick to the other side of his mouth. “A witness could point us in the right direction. Might be this killer don’t leave any, of course. What’s the word on that?”
"An' are these poor souls being hoisted up off the ground before bein' pinned to the doors?" Anders chimes in, "Or they still on the ground?"
" Hoisted up, their feet are at chin level.
He flattens a map. " Here is a map of waterdeep, the red points mark the killings."
On the map are several points spread out across the sea ward that indicate killings, anyone who studies the map makes a investigation check.
