"You know the one thing I regret, Biscuit? Is not getting me bolts silvered too. Not that I had coin for it, mind you, but it would've made at least this part easier." Doozey's jests earns him nothing but silence, as Biscuit's sole focus remained on mutts closing in on them. Realizing this, he sighs and gives him a few comforting pats to the side, before donning his shield. "At least the others should be alright, so long as things are played fairly cool."
Even as Doozey yammered on the mind continued to race and eyes searched for a solution. "No choice," He murmurs, as he settles on going up to the fire-breathers. "Excuse me! Just a moment of your time. I have special request for ya, if'n alright with ya." He'd call to them in between breaks in the performance. If/When he has their attention, he waves them over closer and whisper in their ears, "Mind doin me a favor? There's been these mutts hounding me the past hour, and I can't seem to lose'm. Think you can scare'm off with a bit of your flame? I don't have much beyond two gold pieces to give, but.. if enough..?"
Graxx finally gets a chance to use his new halberd after stepping up to the creatures {AC-17}. It looks like he still needs to get used to its weight, as his swings simply do not carry enough momentum to break through the creature's tough carapace.
Neya accompanies Graxx {AC-18} and launches two punches at the same target. The first one breaks through, but the second is deflected away. (Grick Alpha #2 takes 6 magical bludgeoning damage.) Unlike the barbarian, who remains wide open for retaliatory attacks, the monk assumes a defensive stance.
(OOC: By the way, please ignore the many coffins on the northern wall of the warehouse. Just interpret them as barrels instead.)
The creatures waste no time in attacking their attackers. They both turn to strike with their tails first, following that up with a tentacle attack each.
-> Tail vs. Graxx: Attack: 21 Damage: 13 bludgeoning.
-> Tail vs. Neya: Attack: 11Damage: 8 bludgeoning.
-> Tentacle vs. Graxx: Attack: 19 Damage: 16 slashing.
-> Tentacle vs. Neya: Attack: 14Damage: 21 slashing.
Neya deftly avoids both strikes aimed at her, but Graxx is not as lucky. In fact, with the barbarian now within its reach, the Grick tries to bite a chunk off him using its octopus-like beak:
Graxx holds the beak off with one of his hands, but the earlier attacks still sting. (Graxx take 14 bludgeoning and slashing damage, already halved to account for Rage.)

As Doozey gets himself surrounded, a few people enjoying the street performances notice the mutts' pack-hunting stance and leave. When the fire-breathers are interrupted, even more go away. The stoutling's request falls on unwilling actors, with one of them even calling Doozey cruel for wanting to scare/hurt street dogs. The mutts use this time to close in and prepare their attack. Whether the fiery performers would have reconsidered their stance after seeing this will never be known, as even they are running away now.
17. Doozey & Biscuit - concentration on Hunter's Mark;
17. Weremutts - one out of four is affected by Hunter's Mark;
MAP:
NOTES: Doozey is mounted on Biscuit (double-square symbol on the top right corner of Doozey's token.) Also, street performers and townsfolk are still in the vicinity. I can add them to the map as they become relevant/if needed. And yes, those are the gallows where Rillo was executed.
Caught flat footed by Moneus, Utar spends a moment or two trying to decide which catch up with one of his old comrades went better...
Clutching his amulet he casts spirit guardians calling forth ghostly versions of Ilim, Abet and Grewalt. The firbolg, crossbow welding human and spell slinging dwarf taking up position and following him as he moves forward to AA,17.
Spirit guardians damage - 16. Graxx and Neya are both unaffected.
Utar calls forth three of his fallen companions and they immediately set their ethereal eyes on the two Gricks.
-> Grick Alphas' WIS saving throws {DC 14}: 19, 17.
Abet smacks one of the Gricks with his huge club, while Grewalt nails the other with an ethereal bolt. Ilim launches a small fire mote on each, but misses. (Grick Alpha #1 takes 8 radiant damage; Grick Alpha #2 takes 8 radiant damage.)
Utar takes a few steps to his left {AA-17} so he is closer to his companions.

"This is why I don't like dealing people." Doozey groused as he turned on the mutts. "Well... there are certainly less awkward ways go. Biscuit. Divide and Conquer!" The both move in almost perfect unity in the intervening moments. For without needing further words or gestures, Biscuit rushes off to the north to keep at least two occupied, while the Stoutling ran to the south. To the background sound of Biscuit baying and growling at the duo nearby, Doozey drew his rapier and would strike without mercy upon his chosen prey for the night.
They were warned once. He would not do second chances for those who chose to continue abusing the gift; young or not. So a jab straight for the chest from coldly glaring halfling.
Future Reaction(Biscuit): If any OA is provoked - Rip and Tear. (Lethal)Bite - Attack: 25 Damage: 6 non-magical piercing. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Graxx tightens his grip around the handles of his new weapon and swings it wide. The first attack misses the wiggling creature, but the second one finally slices through its tough yet rubbery carapace and releases a spray of purple blood. Nonetheless, the cut is not as deep as Graxx had hoped, and there is no extra sizzle from the silver in his blade either. (Grick Alpha #2 takes 17 slashing and radiant damage.)
Neya follows that up with another two quick punches, aiming for the spot she had softened earlier. The creature writhes in pain. (Grick Alpha #2 takes 16 magical bludgeoning damage.)
Both adventurers find themselves closer to the monsters' mouth-parts than they wished. The barbarian gets the worst of it (Graxx takes 25 bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage, already halved sue to Rage) but the monk earns quite a deep gash herself. (Neya takes 29 slashing damage.)
(OOC: I'll edit in the Spirit Guardians damage below this note soon.)
Ilim calls some holy light to descend on one of the Gricks, and Abet follows that up with another club strike. (Grick Alpha #1 takes 11 radiant damage.) Grewalt places another phantom bolt on the second Grick after it avoids the club swing that hit its brethren. (Grick Alpha #2 takes 5 radiant damage.)
To the sound of gasps from the few townsfolk that remain, Doozey steps up to the mutt he had established a link to and stabs it in the chest area. The dog looks pained by the sizzle of the thin silver blade, but it still growls defiantly at the stoutling. (Weremutt #2 takes 9 piercing damage.)
Biscuit tries to keep half of the assailants at bay by barking menacingly, but making sure to remain ready to escape if needed.

The street dogs attack, with one of them moving closer to Doozey as necessary {BC-11}. In the eyes of the public, they are certainly just defending themselves.
-> Bite vs. Biscuit: Attack: 16 Damage: 6 piercing. (This attack roll is supposed to be a 20; see edit below.)
-> Bite vs. Doozey: Attack: 10 Damage: 3 piercing. (This attack roll is supposed to be a 20; see edit below.)
-> Bite vs. Doozey: Attack: 18 Damage: 6 piercing.
Edit: I forgot to account for the mutts' advantage there. For Biscuit, it means we only consider the first rolls. For Doozey, I'm rolling two additional attack rolls here, in order: 10, 24.
Two of the mutts try to bite Biscuit, but one of the attempts is luckily stopped by the mastiff's hide barding. (Biscuit takes 5 piercing damage.) Doozey, is less fortuitous, getting bit once in each leg. (Doozey takes 7 piercing damage.)

But my patience an end with you if you don't. STOP!" He flicks feints a jab at a face, baiting a lunge to try and bite and yank the weapon free, before going in again for the kill.
"Thrice the fool you be biting a Grey Hunter at that! For every drop is a poison to your ilk." He taunts, drawing the blooding notch over a recent arm wound, and letting the blood coat the blade in tainted blood.
Future Reaction(Biscuit): If any OA is provoked - Rip and Tear.
