As the bartering takes place and Thodin takes in the smithy, he notices the damage that Mia has sustained to her armor. Motioning to her about it, he takes off his pack and produces a set of chainmail. "It's a bit worn, but still in perfect condition..." he says with honesty, "... my smaller stature will probably mean it'll fit you like a glove, Miss Mia". The Dwarf grins under his white and grey beard, holding the armor up for her to take.
"Ah, our apologies Master Smith. It appears we only require the crossbow, at least at this time. Good day to you." Talinian passes him the gold for the crossbow and bolts and an extra one for the time and confusion of what was being purchased.
As the group steps outside the smithy, he looks up into the late afternoon sky.
"I believe we can either take rooms for the night, rest and recover from our battle with the gray ooze this morning or we can proceed to the graveyard now, which would mean camping at night and, possibly, a night battle with more oozes and ochre jelly and, potentially, other creatures. I believe the best course is to spend the night in the village, wake early and be on our way. Additionally, after a week of travel, my stores of travel rations, at least, are low and will need to be replenished. Whether we choose to spend the night or leave for the graveyard, I will be taking a bit of time to do that. What are your thoughts?"
Bones nods in agreement, "Our last encounter at a graveyard at night was a little harrowing. I say we enjoy some comforts after some time on the road."
"Aye, I agree a fresh start early tomorrow would be wise" the old Dwarf grumbles as they step outside. "We must've passed at least two inns on the way to this smith, a Little Tea Pot and something Draw, both looked cosy enough for me; any of ya have a preference?" Thodin looks around the group.
(ooc: Thodin is happy for either, and doesn't need any other supplies)
From earlier:
“are there any inns?” - there are two- "The Little Tea Pot" ran by a Furbolg named Clayton Deuceel, and "The Long Draw" ran by a Sun Elf named Belmenor
“I wanna try out the little tea pot, firbolgs are nice, and most are Druids, I could try to convince him to getting us free rooms and drinks” fiume says, with some enthusiasm
Mia’s eyes would meet Thodin’s when he’d present her with his chainmail. A hint of a genuine smile of appreciation could be seen tugging at the corner of her lips. She’d give him a respectful bow of her head in thanks. “Thank you Thodin. I appreciate this.” She’ll accept his offer, making note to change into the new mail come the morning. A long rest at an inn is never a bad idea. Mialee will nod in agreement to the others. “Any will do. Though it sounds like it’s the Long Draw then?” She’d be ready and willing to continue along to the inn of their suggestion.
Belmenor is an extremely short sun elf, with exceedingly yellow skin, and long red hair. He is generally friendly.
"Current room price is 6 silver a night, and currently only have 3. There is an open bay on the 2nd floor, each bed is currently 1 silver. With the convention coming you can pay ahead, but if you don't your bed will be rented when it's needed."
"Dinner tonight is deer, potato's and a few veggies, 5 silver per meal, and ale is at 5 coppers each."
Bones considers the offered rooms while he strokes his beard. "I am not bothered by any of those choices," he says to the others, "A bed is a bed, and a nice comfort at that after many a night away in the past. Do we need to secure beds further than this night, do you think?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Doing his best to hide his shock at the prices, looks around, using the movement as an excuse to move close to Bones and farther away from the elf. Whispering to the cleric, he asks, "Can you cast that helping spell on me?"
Talinian turns back to the elf, smiling warmly. "Good evening, good elf. My name is Talinian the Blue. You have a fine establishment, fine indeed. My companions and I," he gestures at the others, "Bones, Mia, Thodin, and Fiume, know of the convention your fine town is hosting, of course, but we are here for another purpose. Doubtless the rooms and meals are worth every silver but for a group that has been hired to rid the town of the current infestation of oozes and jellies, is there any chance those prices can be adjusted in our favor?"
ooc: In the interest of moving things along, I will assume Bones casts Guidance as requested. If not, please don't add in the additional amount. Persuasion: 16 plus Guidance 2
"That is mighty nice, but we are also about to have a convention, one that will see every room here filled, now I could give you a dicount, to our normal rates, or I can tell you to find somewhere else to stay and I can have a cenvention goer pay the fullest price, or you can pay the current rates. If it were not for the convention, I would be happier to deal with you on the prieces."
(OOC - I'm happy for you to assume Guidance when appropriate to keep things moving along.)
Bones grumbles at the prices as he shuffles through his coin pouch. He places the coin down on the counter, "We may not be here long anyways. Besides, our venture may require us to stay away from the town for a time. We did have to spend that night in the graveyard last time, hey Talinian?"

(OCC: Fiume is not proficient in longswords, so I don’t need anything right now)
Isn’t he taking the crossbow so he can return Mia’s? Either that or Mia needs a new one.
also, Mia said her armor was damaged
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Oh yeah he is taking it
(ooc: Yeah; Mia is getting my spare, so I’ll mark it off my equipment?)
Yes if Mia is taking it please do.

"Let us try The Long Draw," Talinian suggests.

“Well then the same with me, let’s go to the long draw then”
