Pietersite nods towards where he hears Bones, showing his agreement with his chosen action. But these skeletons weren't the type to listen to reason, so he kept smashing them to pieces.
Attack 1: 12 Damage: 24 on the damaged bear skeleton
Attack 2: 18 Damage: 22 on the damaged bear skeleton
Using Precision Attack on Attack 1: + 4 to hit
Using Menacing Attack on Attack 2: + 8 damage, DC 16 Wis save or Frightened until the end of my next turn.
Great Weapon Fighting; rerolling the 1 from Attack 1: 2 . rerolling the 2 from attack 2: 4 .
So in the end Attack 1 is an auto miss, and Attack 2 is 12 to hit, 20 damage.
Realized nat 1 is an auto miss, so decided not to use the superiority die.
Here is the updated map with where I am under the impression everyone is at. The bear with the X on it is the dead bear, the other bear is going to move to Pietersite and take a bite attack. Attack: 17 Damage: 8. The bear will also use their "Ghostmaul" A ghostly image of the bear in its full form appears behind Pietersite, stands on its hind legs and with it's front paws rakes at Pietersite's back, Dex save DC 14 7 on a fail, half as much on a success.
There is a rug on the wall next to Bones, it comes to life with a ghostly shimmer and drops onto you Bones. 6

The rug manages to rap all the way around you Bones, it then manages a small squeeze Attack: 11 Damage: 5, I forgot to add advantage, 12
Bones you are Smothered, DC 14 to escape, you are grappled, restrained, and blind, if you do not get out with in 2 minutes you will drop to 0 hit points. Any damage the rug takes is split in half and you take the less half.

Pietersite catches the skeletons bite with the armor around his arm, but the ghastly apparition appearing behind him catches him with surprise, and manages to scratch him along his unarmored neck. He decides to try and deal with the remaining bear as fast as possible, and focuses on attacking it as fast as he can.
I'll let you save your action surge, you hit with your first hit and cleave into him, then he starts to turn back into a live bear but you cut through it again and the bones fall apart.
You can attack, (Pietersite might not know that it would hurt Bones) or you can try and break him from the grapple I would say yes a Athletic check, DC is 14.

I feel it would be pretty clear that hitting a rug would hurt whoever is wrapped in it, especially with a bludgeoning weapon. It's not like it's a suit of armor or something.
Athletics: 13
Having downed the last skeleton, Pietersite rushes to Bones and pulls the rug smothering him off.
(I agree, I played a Barb once with a super LOW int, and one of the other players got caught in one, she was pissed at me over it, that being said I did crit, and put everything into the hit, and she almost died, but what ever.)
Pietersite grabs the rug and with a mighty yank it comes free.

(OOC - I'll add this action in, but just tack it onto the end of everyone else's actions as I've already gone.)
Bones will follow the ghost upstairs, but if the last bear is still alive, he'll quickly flick a fire bolt at it as he does so.
Fire Bolt Attack: 26 Damage: 15
Bones half your movement to get up, you manage to get to the stairs and hit the remaining bear with your fire bolt.

Talinian moves to the doorway to check on Bones. Seeing him wrapped up in a shimmering rug, he casts Dispel Magic carefully aimed at the rug.

Then, can I move to Bones and use the action surge to try and get the rug off him? Would that be an Athletics roll. or what?
