As the wind seems to wait for the first one to act a faint conversation in a strange sing song voice takes place inside. A few creature are having a quick argument.
The light of a single torch flares brighter for a second casting long shadows on the wooden walls.
Ducan takes a step back and gives a hard kick in the door, splintering the lock and sending shards inwards.
He sees four short, avian creatures with long beaks and black feathers in the middle of the warehouse? each have hooded cloaks and are wielding a shortsword.
It seems that main business here is recruiting, training, and equipping sellswords. Crates packed with weapons, rations, boots, black uniforms, and other gear fill the warehouse.
Tables and chairs have been carelessly tossed across the floor. The corpses of a dozen men lie along the walls, their rapier and daggers lying nearby. On the north side of the area, stairs rise to an open level above.
For a second the Kenku are stunned but they act swiftly and while the first two come to stop you from entering one goes to the back of the building and the stair leading up ( going toward Jorah ), the last one goes and hide behind a row of boxes.
A rush of adrenaline grips the group as they frenetically enter the room.
Duncan, not being sure if these Kenku need to be put down or not, runs up to one, pokes at him with his glaive, and says "Where's Floon?!" He readies himself to swing should the scene turn violent.
Ready action. Attack with glaive if the kenku turn violent.

On his turn, Davik will step into the doorway, and after briefly surveying the scene, he'll fire a warning shot of eldritch blast, to hit a step or two ahead of the Kenku running towards the upper floor (hoping to stop him in his tracks). He reaches out his hand, and a crackle of green energy wreathed in black shadow whips out with a crack, leaving the stairs charred, and slightly smoking....
And in his most intimidating, pit-fighting voice, he commands, "Stop right there! No body move... You're outnumbered and surrounded!... And if you value your lives you'll cooperate...".

Rubin steps up into the doorway and sends two crossbow bolts into the nearest bird-man. He then steps back out of the doorway and off to one side, staying outside of the building as the others enter.

Ser Knewt scampers into the room. He immediately makes for the bodies along the wall to check for any possible survivors in need of aid. He keeps an eye on the avian folk and his peers as the confrontation ensues.
Jorah, not wanting to alert the enemies up here, quickly moves along to the next room, trying to find the way down stairs, so to block off potential reinforcements.
The room burst in violence as the kenku ms move to intercept the first one coming in.
The feist one moves to Duncan swinging is sword hard then moving back with his large wings shielding his vital points. Duncan's glaive flashes in reaction and send the creature flying back farther then it intended with blood and black feathers explofing in the air. (Duncan takes 6 dam)
The second one goes to intercept Sir Knewt but Davik blast stops it. With a furious cry it moves toward Davik position. His words have clearly have had no effect on the assassin. Safe for the moment the goblin quickly checks the bodies and his expert eye tells him they are all dead. A longer survey may reveal more.
The one going up takes a bolt in the thigh, effectively stopping its ascention has it crumbles into itself. When it gets up Jorah is sending at the top of the stairs.
Of the last one there is no movement.
Jade make a Perception check please since you are outside and not being in combat.

Davik sees all the Kenku leaping into action (despite his warning), and actually feels a little bit sorry for them. He knows that some of his new acquaintances may not be quite as merciful as he is. That said, and although his Spring-heart bleeds a little for the bird-men, he can already feel his Fey-nature beginning to bubble, and boil, inside him. He senses that he may be beginning to crest out of the celebrations of Spring, towards the passions and fury or Summer.... "You fools..." he mutters at the Kenku, as The Fight begins....
Rubin's crossbow firing is like the ringside-bell has rung, and Davik's mind is only in the fight. He gave them a chance.... Nothing else matters now besides the exquisite ballet that is combat...
Everything now happens in a fraction of a second and time seems to slow around him. In the light from Even's coin, he sees one of the Kenku slash Duncan and retreat, but not before the man takes his own swing. He sees Ser Knewt dash towards the dying in an attempt to aid them, and his heart cracks a little more towards Summer as he's reminded again - in a fraction of an instant - about his old friend Fiddnot...
He blinks and before he even has his eyes open again, he's drawn his rapier and his body has dropped in to a full tilt towards the nearest Kenku that had changed course towards him from Knewt. He roars as he begins forward "Aaahhggg!....". But as he moves the dark tendrils of shadow and smoke begin to rise, this time from all over his body, flailing out behind him as he accelerates towards his attacker.
He thinks he sees something resembling fear in the Kenku's eyes. Perhaps he wasn't expecting such a direct attack from the small elf. Or perhaps the sight of him coming wreathed in shadow fills him with dread. But as Davik draws closer, his blade held back ready to thrust, mist and shadows envelop his entire body..... and he is gone...! The Kenku opens his eyes after bracing himself for the attack, and the elf has vanished...
Davik appears directly behind a different Kenku! The one stumbling on the stairs near Jorah. And at the same instant finishes his thrust from behind, unseen and unexpected. The Kenku is sheathed in some kind of green crackling energy.
Davik uses his move, then also uses his bonus action to cast his racial ability Misty Step to close the distance to the Kenku on the stairs. I assume that he'll get advantage for attacking out of misty step from behind, and being an 'unseen attacker'? And I hope he will give Jorah sneak attack for being in melee with his nearest foe.
I think he can also cast the cantrip booming blade as his action: Attack: 24 Damage: 5
If this hits, and if the target willingly moves before the start of Davik's next turn, it immediately takes 4 thunder damage.
(all of Davik's attacks at the moment will attempt to be 'non-lethal').
Seeing some of the bird-men go down, but others still up, Rubin steps back into the doorway, ready to send another bolt in at one of the bird-men that is still up. He shoots twice, his hands a blur as they reload the weapon faster than the eye can follow. Once done he steps aside, staying outside of the room, but out of the doorway again now.
Getting hit only helps Duncan to focus on battle, the pain sharpening his senses. This is what he's trained for. Since they clearly don't want to talk he keeps swinging.

Ser Knewt
Having ascertained that there was nothing to be done for the bodies, Ser Knewt turned his attention to his comrades and the confrontation with the crow men.
Ser Knewt admires the fighting fury of Duncan as he exchanges a series of blows with the lead crow man. The speed and precision of Rubin's barrage of bolts as he darts into and out of the doorway. The amazing display as Davik disappears and reappears at the top of the stairs to engage the fleeing crow man. An arrow flying down from the shadows announces that Jorah has joined the fray. Jade stands at the entrance clutching the coin with Lathander's blessing observing the confrontation.
Ser Knewt singles out the one that was set to engage Davik before the shadows spirited Davik up the stairs as his target.
Ser Knewt points a clawed finger in judgement at the crow man. Ser Knewt calls to him, "The light always banishes the darkness. Repent! Surrender! Cast down your weapons and you shall be shown mercy. Continue this ceaseless resistance and you shall gaze upon the face of the gods this night."
Ser Knewt readies to cast Sacred Flame on the crow man for 4 pts of fire damage, should he persist in his defiance. Dex Save of 12 to avoid the pillar of divine flames.
The tumult of the fight catches everyone except Jade who keeps an eye for anything out of place. Maybe it's his training or his natural caution but he caches a furtive movement on the rooves opposite the warehouse. Someone was watching.
Trusting in his allies Jorah scans the lower area searching for a target. Sure enough he sees hidden behind the boxes one of the kenku moving stealthily toward Sir Knewt two short swords out ready to strike. He lets the arrow loose and it flies true, hitting the creature in the throat eliciting a strangle scream. The creature clutches at the protruding shaft trying in vain to dislodge it. It falls to the ground struggling to breath.
On the stair seeing the kobold's attention drawn away the kenku moves forward. Suddenly he jerks once then a second time. It stops and looks at the arrow that has appeared in his chest then at the blade protruding from his back just as the booming echo reaches the rest of the group. Startled but unable to move the creature falls down the stair dismay plain in tis eyes.
Duncan moves forward intent on the kenku facing him and swing his weapon dealing a massive blow to the creature. it struggles to stand, more stubborn then anything else it starts to move forward before being engulfed in a pillard of radiant fire. The screams are as sort as the fire is intense.
All of a sudden the rooms are quiet.
