Kyrian frowns. He starts speaking in a guttural tongue that you all recognize as draconic "Greetings. We were sent here by the people who live above the ice. They said you may be inclined to help us."

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Leto leans back and crosses his arms watching the toads as Kyrian attempts to speak with them. He's looking to see if any appear to be leading the others at all ((insight 20)), as well as to see if they appear to understand what was just said to them (even if they do not respond).
Kierro, following Kyrian's lead, replies in draconic:
"There's several pieces of treasure deeper in the caverns - frozen within the ice. They happen to belong to us, and we're here to retrieve them. Is there any way you could help us get through?"
The toads speak together in their own language for a moment. The speaker then turns back to Kierro. "Dragon strong." It says. "No aid can do. My people suffer if do."
Kyrian speaks again "What if you don't? Does the dragon here not affect your lives? Seeing as you are holed up underground, I would assume you are at least cautious of the dragons wrath. Would you not like to be rid of him?"

"Dragon let work." The toad speaker says, turning its head towards the many strange words written over the chamber. "Do as will, we no aid." The creature then turns its back on you, clearly indicating the discussion is over.
Leto checks in with his imp, who should still be floating around the treasure room, one more time just to be sure nothing has changed, as he walks along with the group.

Though this chamber is deeper than the adjacent caverns, no mist hangs in the air here.
Three shelves stand in this otherwise empty cavern, cobbled together out of salvaged wood, whale bone, pieces of giants’ armor, and even the frozen limbs of yetis. A number of scrolls, books, parchments, and folios are carefully arranged on the shelves, all bearing the markings of magical writing.
Near the western end of the scriptorium, a 15-foot-wide chute leads down to Arauthator’s lair.
Leto pops his imp back into the room with him, since he’s clearly useless at spotting things in the dragons chamber, and then points to the tallest shelf, directing his imp to grab a book at random to bring to him. He has the imp open the book and then hold it for him to scan through the pages seeing if any of it is intelligible.

Kierro asks Kyrian and the others with them: "Do we have a way of talking to them? I doubt they speak common."

No one would recognize the writings. It is all in the toad's unique language.
"Speak yes..." One of the toads answers in strangely accented draconnic. "What aid need you?"

Kierro nods, taking the lead as the group moves back to the divide in the tunnel, then down the other way toward the treasure hoard.
