Seeing his companion disappear into the crowd, Leto nods, saying to the group “It appears I am not alone in feeling something I want here in this town. Perhaps it is finally time we truly reclaim our old titles.” He then starts to walk into the city, as his imp changes shape into a raven perched on his shoulder. “Our work here is not done though. Let us collect what is ours, and meet back here when ready to depart.”
Not wanting to take his gloomstalker through town, he commands it to wait on the ship. Leto then starts heading through town towards where he can feel the dragon, almost hungry for the chance to finally control one of these beasts again.
Main group - (Kierro, Honor, Naivara, Latrius, Leto, and Kyrian):
Upon reaching the docks you all sense the dragons that I posted in the OOC PM. Leto and Latrius immediately head off on their own to find their specific dragon. (I will move you two to your individual PMs.) What is everyone else doing?
New people - (Ing, Sinder, and Nadariel):
As you each enter Neverwinter, assuming you are each traveling by yourself, you sense a dragon you know you can control. What do you do?
Nadariel would start to move towards the dragon he senses. He would move casually and stop at stalls to examine merchandise or stop and listen to street artists. While he does that he would tune his bandore. After maybe an hour he would set up close to where he senses the dragon and start playing his now attuned instrument (ritual casting unseen servant) and after ten or eleven minutes his drums would suddenly start to play by them self. The smell of a fresh spring meadow would faintly hang in the air around him (prestidigitation). He would play patiently for quite some time and see if he can attract someone.
I decided to keep everything in here after all. Leto and Latrius see below..
Leto
yrsaintinth, the Quiet...
As you walk away from the docks you are glad to feel that the dragon you seek is not underground. As you know, stone dragons can walk through earth and stone as easily as you walk down the street here. If this dragon had been underground, there would be little to no way you could reach it... As it is though, you sense the dragon ahead of you, seemingly above ground.
After a bit of walking you come up closer to the sense of the dragon. As you round a corner you see a bulky man, wearing a workman's britches and tunic, trudging down the road. He recieves a few nods and waves from those people on the street, clearly this is a path the dragon has walked many times before, and is well-known, at least in this human form, in the area. He responds to a few of the raised hands, but keeps moving along. From some you hear his name being called, yrsaintinth.
Latrius...
piazet, the Eternal One
Latrius, you follow the sensation of the dragon and come up to the Halls of Justice itself. Knowing what you do about Axial dragons, you sigh, knowing the dragon is likely inside trying to persuade the people of the city to reform or fix something to do with the place. You realize the dragon must be fairly recently arived to the city if it is still working through diplomacy, as you know that, once diplomatic options are done, the dragon would move to more aggressive means to get what it sees as unorderly fixed.
Entering the Halls of Justice you find the dragon in conversation with several official-looking individuals. The dragon wears an impeckible surcoat, with an embroidered tunic and other clothings that are easily equal to any a noble would wear. It is all pristine and without a single wrinkle to be seen. One of the officials calls the dragon by name, piazet.
Naivara looks around, not really sure what to do since people seem more interested in find dragons. "What should we do?" she asks no one in particular.
As you follow the sense of the dragon you seek, you are glad to not feel it from above the city. Knowing what you do of Cloud dragons, you wonder what could have brought such a reclusive being to a city of all places. They normally stay as far from any other thinking being as they can manage. Glancing up you don't even see any clouds in the skies overhead, so you know its lair cannot be close by.
It takes a bit to catch up to where the sense of the dragon is, as it seems to be moving fairly quickly through the city. Eventually the sense of it seems to stop in one place, and you are able to get close to where the dragon seems to be.
As you come into sight of the dragon, in human form, you find a beautiful woman wearing a gauzy dress and with hair the white of a cloud. She stands off to one side of a courtyard, appearing to be listening to some music another performer is playing. As you set up your own performance, she moves in your direction. Please give me a performance check, with expertise and advantage on it.
"Mistress?" Palvin asks as Naivara asks her question. "What would you have us do?" He looks to you for direction. "What is going on that you seem so concerned about?"
Performance: the first roll earlier was with proficiency so another 3 for expertise for a total of 22. Second roll for advantage: 27
The dragon-in-human-form moves even closer, seeming enthralled by your performance. She begins to sway with the tune. While she had looke dinpatient as she listened to the other performer, she doesn't seem to be aware of anything but your music.
Assuming Persus is heading back to the Halls of Justice, Kierro bows to him and thanks him for his assistance as he leaves.
He turns to Naivara, saying quietly. "I suppose, since they've sensed a dragon, they're heading off to meet them, perhaps request their assistance. I suppose we're to do the same. Should we meet back here in the evening, or at the inn, perhaps?"
(If the answer is yes, he'll nod to those gathered as he heads off to find the gold dragon. I'll assume it is to save time, but if not I can pull back)
I am going to weave some more magic into my music and cast enhance ability to increase my charisma. I keep playing for some more time after wich i slow down and stop the music. I bow to the dragon and ask her what she wishes to hear, maybe she can describe me a picture or feeling and i turn it into music. After i fulfil her wish, or if if she has no request, i will ask how else i may help her?
Naivara takes a deep breath, "There's someone I need to talk to Palvin. You can return to your home or come with me if you wish."After making up her mind, Naivara goes to look for the Song Dragon.
Ing cocks his head to the side as he passively monitors the thoughts of the people walking through the market. Not seeing anything interesting he mutters under his breath, "I don't know why I expected these people to be interesting." Stepping into a back alleyway, there is a pause, before an old dwarven woman hobbles out of the alley looking both ways to make sure that nobody was looking before walking out onto the mainstreet. She is wearing tattered clothing with a thick black robe covering her body. As she hobbles along the main street, she is seemingly going in her own direction paying no mind to other stalls. She casts a curious eye at the crowd gathering around the music-maker, and she is even more curious when she uses a bit of magic to sense the surface thoughts of the bard and notices that one of the figures in the crowd is apparently a dragon! Quietly approaching the music-maker, the woman is enthralled by the music, but she manages to maintain concentration on her spell and continues to read the surface thoughts of this oddly powerful musician. When the bard stops the music, the woman slips into the shadows of a nearby stall and continues to focus on the surface thoughts of the musician as they begin to speak to the supposed dragon.
(OOC: Mechanics in Spoiler for DM)
Using Changeling Shapechanger Feature with Glamoured Studded Leather to create the new form.
Using Detect Thoughts to read the surface thoughts of Nadariel
Stealth Roll to Hide once the performance is over: 17 Psi-Bolstered Knack: 4 This should make the check succeed as Nadariel's Passive Perception is 18 so the Psi-Dice is Expended.
The dragon stares at Nadariel, seeming dazed. She kneels before you. "What is your wish of me master..." She speaks in a voice filled with wind and music.
Ing
You are able to read the bard's surface thoughts. You can speak with the player in the OOC thread if you wish to know anything specific they are thinking. For the dragon, as soon as the bard spoke to her, her mind went blank, with nothing in it but thinking about the bard and how she can serve him.
Leaving the docks behind, you head off into the city. Palvin chooses to stay with the ship, letting you know he has work to do if you wish to leave in the near future. Does your drake stay on the ship or go with you?
Following the pull you enter a shopping district in the town. A bit off, down the square a bit, you hear the sounds of a bard playing. There seems to be a crowd gathering in that direction as well, drawn together to listen to the fabulous music.
Your quarry though is just stepping out of a shop, with several servants carrying her shoppings for the day. She is a young blond elf, wearing a dress that looks to be just a cut below nobility.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The old woman is shocked when they realize that this bard must be some kind of Dragon Lord as well and quickly moves to make a distance between them, at least for now. Before slipping back into the main street, the form of the old woman shifts again, and a young dwarven boy steps out of the stall's shadow, wearing common clothes that aren't particularly fancy, but not as tattered as the old woman, as he sprints down the lane making his way to some unknown destination. Slipping into another alley, Ing comes out again in his prefered form with and muttering a pair of command words, his clothing shifts into the brightly colored shifting pattern that he is used to, and he tosses a cape over his shoulder that immediately ripples as it shifts from a plain gray piece of cloth into a long, slim, translucent pink cape. Stepping out back into the thoroughfare again, Ing makes his way towards the place where he sensed the Cobalt Dragon. As he walks, he ponders the presence of another Dragon Lord in the city and ruminates on the possible ramifications of there being another powerful being nearby. He also continues to peer into the minds of the people around him on the off chance that he finds someone of political standing or power. If he senses nobody, before he gets anywhere closer than 100 feet of the dragon, he waves his hand over himself twice as his form first splits into four identical duplicates that are all walking in mirror movements as well as slipping into the shadows with the aid of some of his newfound divine powers.
Using Shapechanger and Glamoured Studded Leather to turn into Adam before hopping out from behind the stall and running down the main street. Once there is about 100 feet distance between me and Nadariel, Shapechanger and Glamoured Studded Leather again (in an alleyway) to transform back into Ing.
Once he arrives near where the Cobalt Dragon may be, he uses Mirror Image to duplicate his form and then drops Detect Thoughts to instead cast Pass Without Trace and attempt to sneak into the area that the dragon is first.
As you move away from the bard, you pass by a shop where a woman in clothes a cut below nobility, is exiting with servants in tow. It is clear instantly that this is a dragon, as you can sense the dragon with it this close. It is not one you can control, a Song dragon. Moving along you continue towards the dragon you can actually control...
remyntys, the Swift...
Ing follows the sense of the dragon and soon finds himself at the mouth of a dark alley. Staying out of sight with ease, he watches those who enter and leave the alley, quickly determining the alley is far busier than it should otherwise be. it doesn't take much thought to figure out there is some sort of Thieve's Guild working out of the alley.
Taking a closer look, Ing finds there is an entrance to an underground location, the sense of the dragon confirming that there is indeed some sort of complex under the streets here. The dragon, after all, feels as if it is down from here, but it is getting closer.
After only a few minutes the sense of the dragon gets even stronger, and Ing sees a lythe figure climb up out of the entrance to the underground complex. The figure starts towards the end of the alley, moving towards Ing. He wears the form of a slender man, but one that looks dangerous. A rapier is at his hip, and he wears studded leather. The man has hair a strange metallic blue, his eyes matching them in color. He wears a black cloak and black leather britches. He is also the Cobalt dragon Ing has been sensing.
