Niall stares a moment as the smoking, gutted hulk of the Jackanape falls to the ground and then nods once at Erik. "Get the next set of doors. I will cover you." He steps more fully into the foyer, looking for traps or signs of an ambush, trying to read what happened here after the doors closed.

Erik returns Niall's nod with one of his own and moves to the next set of doors, the emerald flames of his anger leaping from his staff to the doors. Erik was out for blood and not worried about stealth, hoping brute Force would take them by surprise.

Neither of the adventurers notice the man pull the dagger from his belt and plunges it into Erik's left thigh.
Damage: 1
Erik recoiled instantly as pain shot up his leg and looked down to see the gash in his leg. It wasn't deep, but it only fueled his anger.
He muttered words and waved his staff and an emerald bolt of fire shot towards the Jackanape.
