Simaal sets a grappling hook into the cave, then throws rope down, and starts floating down, while having rope within crook of his arm. He tries to get his bearings, but with all the activity he just can't do anything else.

Simaal sets a grappling hook into a crack in the rocks in the passage, and then tosses the rope. It lands with a thud on the top of the layer of bones. Shrugging and still holding the rope, he descends down. His legs press through the bones with little difficult, the rope being dragged down with his body. He is eventually within a press of bones that let his body slip down, while pressing in on him from all sides...until his feet dip into cool water somewhere below. He finally climbs down the last bit into the full water below, trying to make sense of the scene around him. He finds that, as soon as any part of his body descends below the layer of bones, he's entirely unable to pull it back up, and trying to do so feels like he's slicing his limb off. He descends quickly to avoid extreme discomfort.
The last shadow near the light darts away to avoid the holy energy, and tries to slip into the shadows.

(unless Jezun rolls a 1, his staff slams into the shadow twice, along with the fist, and the shadow poofs...then fades away like an ink stain in the water....)
Jezun can see 2 shadows within 30 feet, trying to hide in the darkness (and possible a third if the roll for A6 above is 21 or less).
(OOC: I have been completely forgetting about Thyrius' Among the Dead feature. All attacks by undead were supposed to have disadvantage against him unless they first succeed a WIS save {DC 19}. I'm frustrated at myself.)
Thankful he has secured at least a brief moment of respite, Thyrius focus all of his attention on his brother. He tries to bring Xem back with the tools he has at his disposal.
-> Action: Cast Spare the Dying through the Defy Death feature, which also heals Xem for 8 points.
Whatever the result, Thyrius mentally communicates it to the rest of the party. He also gives them an indication of where he is relative to the the spot immediately below the floor/ceiling of bones. "I teleported some 60ft away from the drop zone, between the gaps in the natural formations." If he can give them a sense of direction, he does so as well.

He darts to A2, (65 move, so with half of that, he can get there easily), trying to leave the others to the wrath of the dawn. A flurry of staff strikes and punches moves more slowly in water but he tries his best.

Jezun finishes off the first shadow he'd seen, his fists moving like thunder strikes even under the water. With ease he sleeps through the water and three more blows smash into the shadow thing. The fists feel like they are striking only cold water, but puffs of shadow explode from the undead that looks considerably less substantial now. (A2 still alive but badly 'hurt').

"Come to the light, Thyrius, with the body of your brother." Mirica meant it literally. In addition to the harmful light, she brought with her, the warhammer in her hand began to emit bright light, like a miniature sun, revealing the features of the cave. Mirica swam as far as she could towards the brothers.
BA: activation of Duskcrusher (The warhammer’s radiant head emits bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. The light is sunlight.)
Action and Action surge - used to swim and dash towards brothers.
Toc swims forward slightly, he points his staff at the space between two of the undead shadows. The water seems to fill with ice, and from all around chunks of ice seem to go racing through the water, crunching through spines of ice forming in the suddenly frigid water.

10 bludgeoning damage and 18 cold damage, save for half.
Meanwhile, Mirica swims down and away from one of the shadows so she can get through the gap and towards the two brothers, spotting Thyrius holding his brothers inert body in the dark shadows, trying to hide...as he frantically attempts to wake his brother.

The blade strikes, thunder washing away much of the shadow, and then in slow motion under the water, stabs out....the staff coming around and as it passes through the shadow, the darkness diffuses into the water and dissolves away into nothing.

Even before the sound of spells wheezing and steel swinging dissolved in the cold water, Mirica darted toward the brothers. "Let me see."The harming light of Dawn died out but the warhammer still shined. Mirica checked the pulse of the golden lion. It seemed, she came too late, the body was as cold as the water around. She put her hand into the bag, producing one of the numerous small bags with sorted diamonds. Small sparkles of light danced inside the precious rocks favoured by all gods. Mirica pressed them slightly into the Xemnez's body and whispered a short passionate prayer.
Jezun looks around and, confirming there are no immediate threats, pauses. "This place is creepy. I'm.... going to take a step back."He shakes his head and blinks, and his eyes open with more clarity.
"That was... needlessly complicated. Allow me to confirm some things..."Nuzej says. His eyes take in the brothers. "Do we need to get him to the surface, Toc? Will the water breathing spell still function if he is brought back from the veil? if it functions, I can confirm the phylactery's location. We should attempt to examine this area for arcane traps."

The fist swings around and smashes into one of the shadows.
