Nuzej nods, then holds onto Mirica’s shoulder, and casts dimension door to the top of the pedestal, then looking around the chamber in the ethereal and specifically at the pedestal for any sign of a phylactery or forming lich body.
Thyrius sits down and works on attaching the chain and grapple, while Simaal sits off to one side, pulling out a piece of jerky and studiously tying his satchel back up. Xemnez slouches lazily against a wall. Toc turns away from the departing view of his ethereal team mates and seems to take a moment to pick at something in his teeth.
Meanwhile....in the ethereal...
The vortex of cold energy drags Mirica and Jezun towards the waiting giant ghosts, whose eyeless sockets stare malevolently at the two intruders.
(Con save: 30 (Though, if magic works, her immunity to cold is on, tight?) -->. Yes indeed your immunity to cold is on...which is "tight". )
Jezun, places his hand on Mirica's shoulder and the two of them teleport forward in the ethereal, finding themselves standing next to the pedestal. Indeed, a short ways away there appears to be a ratty old couch...upon which a skeletal body is halfway through forming. The two of them can also now confirm that they're very much surrounded by four ghostly undead giants. Before the giant ghosts can react though, Jezun reaches forward and peels back the barrier between the Ethereal and real, and the two of them shift into the room....finding the world in full color around them. A faint crackling sound fills the air as the item on top of the pedestal seems busily at work reforming the skeleton on the couch.
One of the ghosts shimmers forward, fading into existence from the ethereal and moves threateningly towards the pair until it stands over them.
Mirica's turn!

The call for divine protection was almost instinctive with the looming threat advancing on them. One of the holy relics, that Mirica was trying to get on every occasion, dissolved into the soft radian light covering her and Nuzej. (Holy Aura)
"Would the lich able to finish reformation with phylactery destroyed? If so, we need to destroy the skeleton as well. Though we can discuss it later when the phylactery is safe."
She was not going to grab it right away, not before Nuzej will open the door a second time. But the moment he signals they are good to go, it will be done.
Two more of the ghostly giants seem to become more solid and fully formed around Mirica and Nuzej, while one faint and very ghostly one approaches but doesn't phase.
Nuzej blinks, looks around, and uses his cloak (or sleeves, if easier) to grab the box, trying not to actually touch it.
He looks to Mirica, and casts dimension doors them both to just behind the couch. If he can, actually, he'd place them both about three feet above the still-forming skeleton so that when they fall, they break bones.
If he has movement left, he walks in place and stomps more and more on it. He closes his eyes briefly at the indignity of an arcane mastermind such as his stooping to mashing bones. "Don't tell Toc. And get ready to leap back to the others,"he mutters to Mirica.
Nuzej uses the hem of his cloak and sweeps it over the box, plucking it off of the pedestal. As he does so, he recalls stories about treasure hunters grabbing the precious goods from the pedestal, only to set off a catastrophic collapse of the entire structure. Stories abound about ancient magic, massive boulders, trap doors and poison darts sudden fill Nuzej's brain. He reaches summons arcane energy and then pulls himself and Mirica through a magical portal to the still forming undead. He then begins stomping on the skeletal body.....looking to Mirica just slightly embarrassed about his technique despite how effective it is.
The giant ghost swoops after the two of them, swinging a massive spectral Maul at Nuzej...

(Doubt it will help much, but both attack re-rolls are in order plus saves (Con 19) if these undead can be blinded)
If they were about to leap back, undead giants standing about were a nuisance. Mirica raised the shield with the shining symbol of Lathander on it. "Be gone, foul creatures of darkness!"She rarely was that official about Turning Undead but it felt like the right move in this situation. Should there be a few transparent bones left over, she punctuated her order by crashing them with the foot.
(Action - Turn Undead (Wis save19), movement spent on dancing on the bones)
The massive ghosts seem to press against the holy light cascading away from Mirica. The glaring white light seems to wash away from her in waves, while the sound of storming winds fills the room. Nuzej, clutching the box, feels the ghostly weapons pass through him, the spectral weapons smashing at his physical being. Then Mirica raises up Lathanders symbol the shouts through the whirlwinds....and then in an instant the three creatures shudder and begin fading away...fleeing the powerful priestess.
However another of the ghosts, hovering just in the ethereal, seems unaffected by Mirica's shouts, and crosses the threshold between realms, becoming real and very threatening, it moves to stand over the two heros, the waves of light pressing against it.

Thyrius has managed to attach the chain and grapple as he sits crosslegged working on the metal, with his back to the stone wall. Nearby Simaal sits chewing on a bit of dried meat, and pulls out his canteen for a sip of water. Xemnez slouches lazily against a wall. Toc has dislodged something from in his teeth and seems to be chewing it, like a cow would some cud.
A gust of wind accompanies the sudden appearance of their two allies. Mirica and Nuzej appear in the hallway. Glaring holy light pulses from Mirica. Nuzej appears to have something clutched in his hand, his cloaks hem held in between. They seem to have returned successfully, and it takes only a moment for Toc to nod, "That's it. For sure. Great job. Nuzej, do you want to do the honors and figure out how we destroy this one?"
Toc seems eager to have the item's method of destruction identified immediately. He summons one of his temporary magical shelters in case the horde of undead emerge chasing the box, and Nuzej can meanwhile go about using the ritual taught to them by Zendrak, to learn how to destroy this phylactery. The minutes tick by. No undead come chasing, and everything seems calm and quiet. The group tensely awaits the outcome of Nuzej's lightly spoken magic ritual.
"Submersed within the hot liquid blood of Faerun the box will cease to be," says Nuzej.
Toc raises an eyebrow, "Hmmm, anyone here know where to find some lava?"
"Woah!" Thyrius springs up suddenly. "It looks like your recon mission turned out to be the whole mission!"
Minutes late, responding to Toc: "What is Faerun? If this is another name for your world, then I'm afraid my brother and I are not familiar with your geography. That said, it seems close enough to ours that I can offer this: Do any of you know of a famous volcano, perhaps by name, that we could easily teleport to?"
"There are many volcanos in all parts of our world, of course." Mirica was quiet from the moment of their return, suspiciously staring into the darkness of the tunnels and commenting just once that the guardians of the phylactery were many undead that could freely cross the borders of the ethereal plane. "One is no father than in the Sea of Fallen Stars. But what we need, though, is something we can reach fast and relatively safely. Surely, in any big city, we can get a proper map and consultation with a scholar. Let's just leave this place first."

When Nuzej finishes the ritual he looks to Mirica. “Thank you for accompanying me on that endeavor. I don’t believe that would have gone so well without your light. Once this is all done with, I will come back here to rid this place of these things. That was deeply unpleasant. But hopefully we can succeed in eliminating another ally of Larloch’s from the field.”
His mind, pondering the result of the ritual, pores over any mental maps or geographies or histories he has learned to try to recall an active volcano.

He needs a long rest before teleporting anywhere, after teleporting here and then going ethereal.
Nuzej taps his fingers on his chin as he tries to remember any history about volcanos. Well, there is Mount Hotenow. Somewhere near Silverymoon is a very famous volcano. Home to fire giants and red dragons. Then there's that mountain that a magical ring was made in, surrounded by a rocky dead land and home to orcs....wait...no...that was a story book. Hmmm, there's also hill of lost souls....in the Dales, but it's been dormant for years. He supposes the Jungle lands of Chult are also ringed in volcanos apparently.
At this mention Toc nods, "Ahhh, yes...I believe we saw them from the sea, where we teleported to that jungle. I suspected it was Chult, and indeed it was."

Mirica raised a brow skeptically. "Volcanos in Chult? Not sure their description includes "safe for visitors" or "convenient location". But if you know the place, let's try."To her, it was a clear case when an hour in a library could save days in the fields, but if others were set on the traversing Chult, she would not argue.
Without any real expectations of forces being able to chase his fellows, Xemnez stayed fairly relaxed after Nuzej's and Mirica's sudden return. If, however, either expressed any concern of a threat though, then the Leonin would take it upon himself to at least stand more at attenton and with his greatsword well in hand.
Later on, Xemnez simply nodded an affirmation to Thyrius point, only to look misty-eyed a moment later thinking of some past adventure involving lava. Of course the moment anyone inquires into the state, he promptly wipes the expression away and brushes off any questioning. "Mn. Will need to look into ways to disable the field 'fore a return, or-..." He shudders. "If your people -- the people of this word that is, are of a kind to dabble into strange the ways of Purphoros, er... Metals, constructs, and all that sort, perhaps non-magical solution to at least dealing great could be found."Xem shrugs. "Either which way, I am ready to move on whenever the rest of you are."
"Well I guess I'll stop trying to remember if I ever met someone called Faerun. Think there was mention of some kind of volcano up near ten towns as well, but I only have a rough direction to go by... Sadly no real treasure, but being alive shall be the thing we treasure today."
"None of those sound particularly safe."Thyrius pitches in, "but I guess we are at least slightly familiar with this Chult jungle. Perhaps we won't stumble upon large reptiles or carnivorous plants this time."
"Do it!" Mirica kept the Rod on the ready.
