Seeing the normally stoic Wendigo uncharacteristically run away in terror, Vera takes it as her cue to do the same "Everyone! We're leaving...Now!!!" she roars to the group as she quickly turns and scans the area for the first available escape path.

With the massive demon looming up out of the water, Jhazaal swallows hard, sweat breaking out on his bald head. Then the others of his group begin to turn and run, and he decides they are right. He turns tail and runs as fast as he can away from the demon.
He takes the move and dash action, then will do a bonus-action hide.

Brio's crossbow begins to hum as it winds up to begin firing. "I'll cover our rear!" She steps between the party and the demon and begins backing away and the repeating crossbow fires off it's first bolt. Attack: 9 Damage: 6
Demogorgon's eyes slowly lock onto Brio as she fires. The huge demon snorts in amusment, then his eyes seem to light up and spin.
(Brio, make a Wisdom saving throw (with advantage).)
Demogorgon then turns his attention to the kuo-toa running all around him, and lashes out with his tentacles.
Attack: 26 Damage: 23
Attack: 31 Damage: 39
Two kuo-toa fall, gurgling.
You all hear a loud, inhuman voice in your mind, speaking in a garbled, madness inducing version of Common.
"BOW BEFORE ME, MORTALS! THE PRINCE OF DEMONS IS COME AMONG YOU! I AM AAMEUL, LEFT HEAD OF DEMOGORGON!"
Another voice similar to the first sounds next.
"NO, NO, NO! AAMEUL, YOU IDIOT. I'M THE LEFT HEAD. BOW BEFORE ME, MORTALS! THE PRINCE OF DEMONS IS COME AMONG YOU! I AM HATHRADIAH, RIGHT HEAD OF DEMOGORGON!"
The first rings out again.
"NO, YOU IDIOT! YOU JUST CONTRADICTED YOURSELF! WHAT WILL THE MORTALS THINK? WE HAVE TO BE THREATENING."
Hathradiah chuckles.
"RIGHT, RIGHT MY FELLOW HEAD! WE SHALL FEAST ON THIS WORLD TOGETHER!"
Both heads unleash another terrifying roar, causing the roof of the cavern to shake and several of the toa huts to collapse.
(There are two ways you can try to escape—over land, or over water. Water will take you closer to Gracklstugh, whereas land will be more roundabout.)

Vera clamps her hands over her ears as she hears the Demogorgons' voices ring in her head. Somehow wanting to escape this place even more than before, she steels herself and quickly scans for the escape path that will get them out of the Kuo-Toa home the fastest, and more importantly, as far away from that monster as possible.
Investigation (add 3 if perception instead): 19
Not noticing an easy escape path at first glance, Vera sees Wendigo up ahead and decides to sprint to try and catch up to him so that they can regroup with the others who had fallen behind.
Wendigo knows it's big and scary, and probably a demon.

Knox watches as the gigantic creature rises from the water.
"Fascinating."
"I think I've seen this one in a book before, Demogorgon was it's name."
"It's much larger in person, and louder."
"The glow is much more impressive than in the picture, the darkness really makes it stand out."
Knox looks around at everyone, including the rest of the town.
"I'm not sure we have the necessary numbers and power to deal with such a creature."

Knox considers the Demon and his companions various reactions to it.
"Interesting..."
Knox stands beside Brio, holding his shield at the ready.
"Lets not get left behind."
Knox moves with Brio, keeping himself between the Demon and the group, but definitely moving to keep up with the retreat.
If Brio fails to follow, Knox will attempt to take hold of her and pull her along, so she doest get left behind.
