Paquinal looks the dwarf over, not answering his question as he has just recently stumbled upon this group and still knows very little.

Wendigo says nothing, just whips out an axe and gets ready to send it sailing into the dwarf's skull if it becomes aggressive.

Knox gets his shield on and holds his fiery hand in the air to get a better view.

"State your name and intentions, are you hostile or friendly?"

Jhazaal stays behind some of his bigger companions, and watches the dwarf carefully.  He waits to see what the dwarf says in response to the others.

The dwarf raises his hands in a nonthreatening manner.

"Whoa, whoa, watch where yer pointin' those.  I'm friendly, as long as yer drow friends aren't gonna kill me.  I was just scoutin' a cavern and suddenly it opened up, got lost in it."

(He's a mountain dwarf.)

Vera steps forward, and though her sword isn't drawn, she's on guard and ready for any kind of trickery.  She'll take a moment to size-up the dwarf and his sincerity before responding.

Knox, standing besides Vera, also assesses the dwarf.

The dwarf seems a bit tired, but genuine.  He's obviously and understandably nervous of Sarith, Wendigo and somewhat of Vera.

Sensing his sincerity, Vera puts her hands up in front of her comrades and says, "Easy everyone.  It seems that he's in a similar situation as the rest of us."  Turning towards the dwarf, "The drow are no friends of ours at the moment.  What's your name?"

The dwarf eyes Vera suspiciously.

"Ironbeard.  Durk Ironbeard."

"I'm Vera."  she replies to the dwarf.  "We're currently looking for safe refuge in the Underdark.  If my friends have no issue, you are welcome to join us.  It's dangerous to travel in the Underdark alone." 

"Nice to meet you Durk, my name is Knox."

Knox nods to Vera,

"As Vera says you can come with us if you like."

Knox turns to looks around the group,

"We have collected an eclectic group so far."

Durk chuckles.

"Thank ye for the offer, but I'm supposed to be heading the other direction.  Maybe our paths will cross some other time, eh?"

"Up to you whether to join us or not but how do you know where you're going if you accidentally ended up down here (in the Underdark)?"  Vera asks the dwarf.

Knox nods agreement with Vera's question, wait to see how Durk responds.

Jhazall continues watching, and being silent.

Durk flushes slightly.

"Well I don't precisely, but quite frankly I'd feel safer not travelin' with him."

He nods to Sarith.

Jhazaal ran a hand over his bald head as he had to admit the dwarf had a point.  If Jhazaal had a choice he wouldn't be traveling with the drow either.  He remained silent though, as he figured the same could be said about goblins.

Paquinal shares the dwarf's concerns, though he makes no action to let that be known. "I wish you well, sir dwarf. Perhaps our paths will cross again."

Vera looks at Durk for a few long moments before responding, "So be it.  Our lot is all the same and I trust him so that's good enough for me; though I understand your trepidation in traveling with a full or half-drow." she replies to the dwarf a little pointedly.  "I wish you luck down here."  And with nothing left to say to the dwarf, Vera will then begin to continue on her way unless stopped.
