The sock puppet moves its head back and forth, looking to Keth and then to Val. "Whoa," it says. "That guy has a face only a mother could love," he says to Val as it bobs its head towards Keth.
"I BIG CHIEF," the sock puppet says to Keth.
There is a pause then it says: "No, seriously," it says laughing. "I'm called Little Hans."
Just as the sock puppet finishes his sentence the party hears a faint voice coming from down the hallway somewhere: "Is anyone there?" it asks. The voice does sound like it comes form a small girl.
The half-orc looks shocked as the sock throws the comment at him but it is quickly forgotten as Keth spins quickly his hands resting on his tomahawk, "Hello? Who is there?"
Rictor quietly seethes as the thing-that-should-not-be dared to insult his intelligence. He who had entreated with beings far more powerful than a... a talking sock!
"I have seen some truly crooked, strange things in my time, but this might the crookedest, strangest one yet."
Hearing that same voice again he turns toward where the sound came from and immediately runs in that direction, the new magical boots on his feet propelling him swiftly forward.
The party remains quiet for a moment. All each of you hear are the breaths of the others with you. For a few moments, there is no sound but a distant dripping of water and the occasional sound from the cattle outside. Abruptly you hear the girl's voice again: "Can you help me?"she asks, her voice echoing through the hallways.
Rictor you come out of the room where all of you were resting and race to the intersection. Ahead of you is the set of double doors and to your right is the hallway that leads to where you fought the rats and goblins. To the left is a place you have not been as of yet. Jimmy follows you out and down the hallway.
Turning left you travel down the hallway. The bioluminous moss lighting your way. You travel 25 ft. and find another hallway to your right. Another 10 ft. and you see 2 doors one on the north side ( Door 1) and one on the south side (Door 2) of the hall. Another 10 ft. down the hall you see it dead ends to another door (Door 3).
Rictor slaps his hat against his knee in frustration at yet another branching path, stopped in his tracks by the dead end. He mumbles wildly to himself, "the left-hand path, the left-hand path," again and again before finally making up his mind. He puts his hand on the northern door and pushes.
The north door (door #1) has what appears to be a small barred window at eye level. Rictor grabs the latch, turning the handle, and first then pulls the door open.
The door opens to another hallway that leads north, approximately 25 ft. There is a set of steps just inside the doorway and goes down into the hallway. There is water everywhere. The entire hallway is flooded with waist high water. The water is a bit stagnant and has a foul odor.
There are two alcoves along the west wall of the hallway, both appear to have doors. The 1st alcover is at 15 ft. the second is at 20 ft.
The hallway ends in a door 25 ft. away, through the water.
"Rictor! Rictor my friend you must slow down," Keth calls out as he moves steadily behind the man. Easily keeping pace with the city slicker but nervously loking back at the way they had come. "If we rush forward with too much haste we could get lost or much much worse." The half-orc was unsure if his hesitation was truly for their well being or the nagging feeling he still had from being underground so long. Being in caves was not necessarily new to the native, he was a free spirit, his heart given to the openness of the sky.
Rictortries to open the distant door with his magical hand but the handle refuses to budge. it is locked.
In response to Keth's inquiry, the party hears the voice of a young girl coming from one of the doors down the flooded hallway. "I'm over here. Help me please!" the young girl's voice seems frantic.
Rictorsighs in frustration but pauses before simply wading into the foul water. He hears the voice and it only agitates him further, rounding on Keth with an imploring look. "Damn it all to hell and back, Keth! I can hear her, but... I'm never gonna get these clothes clean again."
Resigned to his fate he starts to wade into the water. Unless hindered in some way he tries to open one of the doors the his Mage Hand didn't try already.
"At least let me lead the way friend. Your skills and abilities are quite grande but I am more adept at leading the way," Keth states as he lays a hand on Rictor's shoulder. He draws his new knife and wades into the water toward the door, trying the handle if the mage hand does not open it.
As you make your way through the muck and stale water you make it to the first door. The door seems to be elevated above the hall floor and there are steps leading to each one.
You hear: "Is someone out there?" in the girl's voice coming out of the second door.
Abruptly the water starts to bubble and boil a bit. Water and muck are scattered as bursting to the surface are 3zombies. Each is bloated and waterlogged wearing tattered clothing.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rictor holds his nose up as high as he can in the baseless hope that he might spare his nasal passages the same foul fate that befell his sodden clothing, but still the stench of stale rot assaulted him. Wait... rot?
"That is both startling and amusing," Keth states as he stands and gathers his things. "I am Keth," he says as he shoulders his satchel pack.

“Time to be quiet, Little Hans.” Val pulls the sock off and tucks it away to go check out where the voice came from

Rictor is off running toward the sound of the voice.
(Any checks I need to make to pinpoint where the voice is coming from?)
Val is attempting to discern if it’s a trick

Val: You don't believe it is a trick, it did sound like the voice of a girl.
