While walking over to Wolfsong and starting to bind and gag the unconscious mage, Cinnaess says to Robwin in Elven, "Ask questions later after we have the prisoners free. I don't want this one awake while in his terrain. There are scrolls on that counter."
To Wolfsong she says, in common, "Good work hunter."
Behind the door is an apparent bedchamber. It is about twenty feet long west to east and fifteen feet long north to south. The door you are at is in the middle of the west wall.
The walls of this bedchamber are covered with drapes of scarlet cloth. The furnishings include a small writing desk with matching chair, a comfortable-looking bed, and a wooden chest at the foot of the bed.
As Wolfsong speaks, Robwin looks up from the unconscious mage, “Unconscious? Oh?!... Indeed!.. Well jolly good!”, he says nodding and brushing his hands off.
He looks, where Cinnaess is indicating, and picks up the scrolls “Excellent!.. Thank you...”. He takes a quick look at them all. ((Anything he recognises?))

Most of the materials in this room have no value, but three small bottles hold rare reagents: mercury, dragon bile, and powdered nightshade. These are easily worth 25 gp each to an apothecary or alchemist.
It looks like the mage was working on a potion of invisibility; currently brewing in the alembec. There is a corked potion of invisibility next to it.
The paperwork, books and texts are rudimentary alchemist’s instructions. There is a potion of invisibility formula, a Potion of Necrotic Resistance formula and a vile of Potion of Necrotic Resistance.
The mage had one arcane focus, a amethyst like crystal roughly the size of a large goose egg, on his person.

Also, as Rinn checks out the chest, Robwin investigates the rest of the wizard’s bedchamber and writing desk...
((would he get advantage as a wizard checking out another wizard’s room? I’ll roll advantage but, if not, please just use the first roll))
At the foot of the mage's bed is the sturdy, unlocked wooden chest. Inside among various robes, leggings and shoes, you find a pouch containing 180 sp, 130 gp, There is also a separate silk pouch containing five carnelians (10 gp each), two peridots (15 gp each), and one pearl (100 gp).
Checking the writing desk you find various papers and notes are stacked neatly on the desk, mostly consisting of written orders to apothecaries and alchemists in nearby settlements for more materials for the mage's workshop.
You find two magic scrolls; a scroll of charm person and a scroll of fireball. They have a signature slant to the writing and mechanics that you are certain they were made in Neverwinter. They must have been scribed by your scroll master or one of his acolytes; you're certain.
Also you find a letter signed with the Black Spider’s symbol.
Lord Albrek,
My spies in Neverwinter tell me that strangers are due to arrive in Phandalin. They could be working for the dwarves. Capture them if you can, kill them if you must, but don’t allow them to upset our plans. See that any dwarven maps in their possession are delivered to me with haste. I’m counting on you, Iarno. Don’t disappoint me.
Rinn stuffs the coin and gems into his pack, "Well, this will help us out," he says to himself. He then looks at the metal staff suspiciously, then clicks his fingers to bring out his mage hand to pick up the metal staff.
Robwin says to Rinn, “Great, nice find!... I can help you check that out when we’re out of this place! Maybe stuff it in your pack for now?... I found these two scrolls... and this letter”.
”Hmmm.... it looks like these scrolls were made in Neverwinter. I recognise the iconography and the slant of the script”.
”Let’s see now... there’s charm person and... and... oh my!... ... I don’t believe it... It looks like fire bolt... but the concentration of weave from this recipe would be off the charts... This is currently beyond my powers to contain!! ...It would cause an enormous fireball !!!...“.
”.....maybe if I study I’ll be able to control the magics here... hmmm”.
Robwin looks concerned, but hopefull, and in awe of the scroll he holds! He’s lost in thought completely...
While you initially assumed the staff to be metal, you now realize the seven foot long slender object appears to be hollow and made of some type of glass yet seems sturdy. You estimate it weighs 3 pounds.

The scrolls Cinnaess noticed were in fact alchemical formula described.

Rinn: Make an investigation check on the staff.
Rinn's Investigation on the staff: 24
"They've been gone quite a while, I am actually a bit concerned with both Blaire and myself here." TT says with a bit of surprise in her voice
Endure nods and they begin following you, TT, toward the mansion as a strange entourage.
It's less than 530 ft (about 161 m) from the tap house to what used to be the mansion front door.
The wolves and goblins rush ahead promising to "sniff it out" which leaves Blaire in a fit of giggles and Endure chuckling slightly.
"I think that Gaatbort did that on purpose.", observes Endure.
During the short walk, Endure asks TT, "You are dedicated to the Crystal Spire; are you?"
