There is a slight disturbance in the water where the head of the dino is under the surface. The neck of the dead beast then starts to elongate as something is apparently pulling it into the river by the head. As you look in that direction then two eyes are reflecting what little light there is. They are poking out of the murky water several feet behind where the head of the dino is and are at least three feet apart, looking in your direction.
Poole realizes all of a sudden she's not near camp and begins to pick her way very quietly through the branches back to the tree above camp that she first climbed. But she stays in the branches, finding a place to rest in.
Out of the bushes near Koris’ remains comes a Phantasmal hand, which grabs hold of Koris’s belt and pack and gradually pulls it loose and into the bushes.
On hands and knees, a humanoid in dark clothing with a black mask and hood comes out the opposite side of the bush.
He looks towards all of you, holds up a finger in a shushing motion and keeps crawling away. He stops briefly to wave you all to follow him, and another time to wipe something wet and sticky off Koris’s belt.
Qawasha waves everyone to follow the figure. Even if they may turn out to be dangerous then this current surrounding area is provenly so.
Following them through the dark and wet forest and up to the branches of a couple of huge trees nearby the party dares breathe a sigh of relief. Qawasha shows them quietly how to secure oneself to the nooks between the trunk and the branches. Even though the positions are unusual then the physical and emotional toll of the day help everyone doze off.

... is H O T. And parts of the sky are visible at times due to gusts of wind almost bending the trees out of the way.
A quick trek back to the previous camp finds your canoes undisturbed and Koris' body is not laying exactly where you remember it. Possibly some animals were trying to move it during the night.
The figure clad in dark and black has been quiet so far, but non-threatening and follows you at a distance.
Once you make sure the rest of your party is alive and your possessions still there, it's time to see what this is about...
The figure holds up a hand in a shushing gesture and looks around several times before tilting his head to listen. Then in a whisper:
”The dinosaurs are happy to find and eat the loud ones. In fact, it seems like most things are happy to eat everything. So it’s best not to attract attention if you can help it.”
”My name is Aurok. I’m out here looking for something called the Soulmonger. It’s an artifact that’s preventing resurrection. Have you heard of it?” He seems to be hanging on an answer from you.

“A wizard. Lady Valindra. Why so suspicious? Is it the mask?” He pulls it down, revealing a tan line straight across his face. “It’s to keep the bugs out of my mouth.”
He glances around. “So what are you doing out here if not looking for it with everyone else?”
The canoes clank against each other as the wind is making proper waves even in the river. A large dark front seems to be moving across the sky, but it doesn't look like it's coming directly at you.
Aurok looks up towards Poole. “Long enough to know that a standard search pattern won’t work in this jungle. And I can’t do this alone.” He starts to look glum. “I was hoping to head back to the port and look for some like minded folks.”
Poole stays up in the tree, looking for a comfortable place to spend the rest of the night. "That was bad. Very very bad."

“We should leave. Now.” Lorahana says in a hushed tone.

"Yes, let's leave that thing to its meal," Anzir says and backs his way toward camp.

Poole looks at the figure, curious, but still shell-shocked. She looks at the rest of the party, and if they follow, she will too. Still in the trees.

"Hey, whats your deal?" Hana asks the quiet guy. "Why are you out here by yourself?"

Anzir grunts. In a low grumble, he says, "If the entire continent is looking for this thing, someone is bound to find it."
Aurok nods and whispers “Agreed. And if the wrong person finds it, it will go badly for everyone. So... you’ve heard of it then.”

"It seems to me that the wrong person already has it," Anzir says. "What do you want it for?"
“I believe there are some few persons who can seal it away from our world. My master may be one of them. If I can just find it.”

Melanthios scowls suspiciously.
"And who's your master?"
