The leprechaun noticing he is being pursued, dashes at 240ft/rd, reaching the temple well ahead of his victim. When Huarache's and the others arrive, the little green clad abomination is nowhere to be seen.
Leann follows at a much slower pace, not bout to rush into a probable trap. She pauses as she gets closer and looks around to see where the little guy got off to. Perception: 23
Huarache stops running when he reaches the temple to catch his breath. He hasn't had reason to run that fast in a few years. Panting, he turns to the others and says, "Do any of you have Divination spells that would be helpful here?"
"I could send him a message -- offer a trade,"Dorian suggests. "If he's still close enough. Otherwise I'd need 10 minutes to search for any magic."
(Did Huarache have the spyglass on his person or in the bag of holding? The bag of holding takes an action to open and one must already know what they're retrieving.)

* I didn't see it in the bag of holding on the character sheet with a bag's contents listed. I may have missed it. In fact this is a McGuffen, you'll get it back before you leave the temple. If its a problem, we can just say he took the whole bag. Purse snatching works better narratively, anyhow.
**If you use a 1st level spell slot, you can cast it as an action
Leann would see a rustling in the branches of the huge tree growing within the temple, bouncing from branch to branch at such speed thst jt would be unlikely anything other than the little thief you followed here. It seems to be moving towards the head of the statue.
(DDB doesn't have a way to mark something as being in a container like a Bag of Holding unless you manually add notes to everything and change the weight to 0. I don't really know anyone who actually bothers to do this. Re: detect magic, Dorian doesn't have it prepared, he can only cast it as a ritual. Someone else might have it prepared, though.)
And now where is the golem coming from? Or are you saying the thing we thought was a statue, that the tree was growing out or/around, is actually a golem? Does Dorian recognize the symbols?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
A below average arcana roll would still be enough to tell you that they are Infernal characters/letters.
I am saying the statue around which the temple was built is in fact a golem. That was a slip on my part. I guess you succeeded on an off-screen investigation or arcana check to learn that. honestly, the Infernal text was the very clue that could have led you to the realization, I just spoiled it a bit (if i meant to do it, I would have said stone golem. Note that I'm changing the size of these things from 5e stats, but leaving the rest, area shouldn't change much tactically in this theater of the mind encounter and I just think some things read better with the change (like, the Tarrasque is only 50ft! what is that?!
(OOC: Under other possessions section of equipment, Shutorn has listed: "In a bag of holding: X,Y,Z.." I found it an elegant solution. I forgot the group had more than one BoH; better not put one inside the other!)
The leprechaun hops onto the Golem's back and taunts you with obscene gestures and fiendish cackling. The fey moves with such speed that it appears blurry, as it reaches in its jacket to withdraw three dagger. In a blink it launches one at Huarache, another at Lean and the final blade he hurls at Dorian.
The whole temple is about 50ft in diameter. The stone figure is about 25ft (modified from official 5e 9ft), with the Leprechaun standing about 20ft above ground on the thing's back (all rolls will be at disadvantage)
Huarache: 15 for 8 piercing
Leann: 17 for 9 piercing
Dorian: 15 for 9 piercing
You're chasing the thing and Leann has pointed it out, so nobody is mechanically 'surprised'
Initiative:
Leann: 10
Dorian: 11
Shutorn: 12
Huarache: 13
Samogri: 11
Leprechaun: 16
Players are up: Post in any order you like. You're all on the same side. if something works better in a different order, just do that, even if RAW hold action wouldn't allow it (such as a bonus action)

(Huh. The 'other possessions' section isn't visible to others. I'd thought it was only the Description and Notes tabs that weren't visible. Good to know.)
Dorian casts Shield so that the attack on him misses. He'll pick it up as a free action, and then cast magnify gravity at the leprechaun (DC 15 CON save or take 9 force damage and speed is halved. On save half damage only).
Dorian will look around for cover, and if he can spot any with his passive 19 perception, he'll move to be under cover as well.
The leprechaun strains against sn unseen force that weighs him down, but he manages to overcome it, not much worse for wear.
He manages to avoid Huarache's first shot, the Tabaxi's weapon jamming with the second.
The floor of the temple is covered in moss, littered with small boulders of about 2 to 3 ft in height. A few kf these are large enough to provide half cover. The tree trunk would provide 3/4 cover. In reference to the leprechaun, a creature behind the tree would also be on the opposite side if the statue, which faces the tree. The tiny fey on its back would have total cover from someone behind the tree, and vice versa, but the statue would provide that cover.
Huarache will dash after the leprechaun with Feline Agility (120 feet per round), with Echo moving 80 feet in the same direction.

You may notice this set of symbols carved into the golems back.

For narrative purposes, Huarache had the spyglass on his belt. And can Huarache make an Arcana or Intelligence check to decipher the symbols?

When Leann spots the creature she would point it out to the others.
Huarache's hand moves to his belt, which is followed by a Gnomish curse.

Leann throws two javelens at the little sprite... To hit: 13 damage: 7 and to hit: 13 damage: 7
Shutorn casts protection from evil and good on himself.
Leann's attacks narrowly miss the slippery creature.
Shutorn's spell is effective
*To make it explicit, the Leprechaun has a natural ability that mimicks the effect of the blur spell, giving disadvantage to attackers.
Huarache, Sam and Dorian are up (in no particular order)

Sam is up, then back to our tiny friend
