Leann and Riavor arrive in the scene and start dealing damage to the huge monster. As it is facing Huarache, they find themselves at its back. One head quickly notices Leann and, releasing Echo, fails its pincered tail about rhe northern part of the room.
The creature continues to snap at the nimble tabaxi (no attack), as it turns completely around, tail arched over its back, scorpion-like, to face Leann and Riavor and lobs a stream of acid saliva at the pair.
(The above precedes PCs actions as determined by initiative dice)
The combined efforts of Riavor and Leann drop the creature as it howls in pain, shaking the walls of the temple.
Clawed footsteps can be heard coming from the hall to the north where Leann just was.
ICYMI: there's a secret passage opened on the south wall of the room. Two released prisoners are headed that way. The existence of the passage is marked on a map PCs found on a skeleton to the West of this room, but the map ends with the hallway.
This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Ooc: Yes, please. Spit is an area of effect attack, so looking for Dex saves from Leann and Riavor; with 3 PCs, an iron defender and a huge monster in the room, you would be in the area (per my theater if the mind map*.)
*(There is an actual.map, but it's a dungeon map, doesn't translate well as a battle map usually, it's a few days back if you want ro see it.)

There are clawed footsteps heading your way from the north. Let's just say we establish first names and an at least non hostile attitude.
You guys want to follow these rescued prisoners to the south, explore the east halls where you were headed before the creature showed up or stand here and meet the clawfooted things? First to post has it, if anyone wants to do otherwise you can individually.

"I found a kid, that I need to retrieve before we move along." Leann informs the others. If the clawed footsteps are truly coming from the direction she was just in, then she is likely to move to attack, needing to get back there to save the one she aided just before coming to finish off the many-headed thing.
From the hall to the north comes at least 12 more lizardfolk. At the back of the column is a 2-headed crocodile and the lizardfolk Shaman. They run past the closed door behind which a surprisingly alive young man waits.
Ooc: Sam, (also a lizardfolk, but with different coloration and markings): tell us if you are moving with them or somehow standing to one side or entering the door opposite the one you exit.
You probably won't see the Shaman, but if you want to try attacking him at range he's got total cover. This will erode ad rhe number of guards between you and him decrease: 3/4 at 8, 1/2 at 4. The hallway they're coming through is narrow and they're basically single file. Some are armed with longbow, and exit last as they have in many drills.
(Ooc: FYI, this isn't due to timeshift shenanigans, this place actually has over a dozen guards near the entrance - which you should all be aware you are presently very close to)
@Riavor, @Leann, @Huarace/Echo, @Sam? and @Cormac can post combat or other actions. Reminders: the guards come from the north, the escaped prisoners went south, you came from the east, (a presently open path) and there's a subterranean river (running south) to the west.

Continuing on the hydra, Huarache slams into it again with his flaming hammer, as Echo attempts again to extricate herself from the grapple (DEX check 20).

It lays dead on the floor. do you want to direct that attack at some lizardmen, then?

Apologies; I missed that it's dead. Sure, at the lizardmen.
The lizardmen are approaching through the narrow hallway, so 30ft would be 6 lizardmen, but the beauty of not using a battlements map means we can squeeze them in there and we've got 12, so that's what we're going with. This still puts the shaman and his pet crocodile beyond that. No word yet from Sam.
The hypnotic pattern filling the room confounds the first pair of lizardmen, halting them in their tracks.

im assuming they are all in a 30´ cube so
riavor worried about the amount of large lizardfolk, blows on his trumpet summoning hundreds of tiny fae who disappear quickly dazing the lizardfolk.
Only kill the moving ones
(cast hypnotic pattern on lizardfolk and crocodile all make a DC-17 wisdom save or be charmed (incapacitated and speed of 0 while charmed))

Leann lands a solid blow to the first guard she sees, but he retaliates with force.
Riavor finishes him off with an eldritch blast, then targets another, before Huarache takes him down.
Huaraches weapon manages to find another guard, but thus one fights on.
(FYI, I'm fudging initiative in PCs favor here)
(12-2-2=8 guards active, right?)
