You cannot attack as a bonus action unless you're doing two-weapon fighting (so you need to attack with your action, then you can perform a bonus action attack with your second weapon). But go ahead and hang onto the roll, it might be handy in a minute.
The worg covered its face with its paws as Rip shouted it down. Solace reached out her hands and restored the rest of Rip's wounds, leaving him as good as new, saved by divine magic. As the worg cowered, Seviari's arrow found its mark, and the beast cried out and keeled over, the final arrow protruding from its neck. In a matter of seconds, the battle was over and the heroes had defeated two huge worgs.
// Rip is now at 9/9 hp, healed 2 more points from Solace's Paladin healing pool (Solace, feel free to specify something different if you wish). We're out of initiative order now, so act as you will! //
The worg's breathing is shallow as Rip stands over its hulking body. It is eying him with a distinct animosity, even as it lays bleeding out. The bell in the tower next to you is still clanging vigorously. In the moonlight, you can make out the farm house which lies just across the small field next to you, and the northern half of the farmhouse has been smashed to pieces, with another rock, this one well over 3' in diameter, resting in the midst of the wreckage.
// Check out the map for general layout and let me know where you want to go. You are inside the gate, in the vicinity of those first two large rocks. The temple is to your immediate north, and the farmhouse is to the southeast, but you are free to head anywhere you'd like, or split up. There are enough of you that have good reason to be familiar with nightstone that you should be able to navigate to where you want to go. //
In any case, you aren't sure if the worg's howls were heard by any nearby goblins, but you get the impression that making yourselves scarce would be wise. It's too open out here, and the moon is out.
Glancing around at his companions for injuries and scanning the perimeter, Flint starts walking towards the temple. "Good work! Now let's see who's ringin' that dad-gum bell!"
Seviari will run from his spot in the watchtower and join Flint, slinging his bow over his shoulder and drawing his rapier. "I agree, let's see what's causing that annoying noise. Who's with us?"
"You made one simple mistake mutt, you thought you were better than Rip Dangerfield!" As he finishes his one liner Rip stabs the beast in the heart, granting it a swift end. "but worry not my furry foe, you will be immortalized as a grand and giant beast who almost bested me... almost" Rip then uses his dagger (roony) to collect 2 of the wargs large incisors before rejoining the group
Seviari leans over towards Rip and whispers "I say you make it a small dragon. That way it sounds absolutely amazing that you survived at all, and even more amazing that you killed it."
"If the rumors are true," Jorji says as he rejoins the group, "you might not have to exaggerate about meeting a dragon." Jorji also nods in agreement as to checking out the bell.
As you follow the sound of the incessant bell inside the large wooden temple, you see moonlight pouring into the high-vaulted chamber through four stained glass windows. The moon beautifully highlights the illustrations on the windows. Beneath the windows are long benches to sit on, but the room is otherwise mostly empty. Standing against the back wall is a wooden pulpit with steps leading up to it. Behind the pulpit, set into the west wall, is a half-opened door, which must be where the bell room is.
Rip and Seviari peer in from the shadows of the room larger room, and see a sight:
This is a bedroom, but its lone bed has been destroyed, its straw mattress ripped open and its wooden frame bent. Priestly vestments and various personal effects litter the dirt floor. two goblins are in an alcove set into the westernmost wall, chortling and gleefully swinging on the knotted rope that runs up into the belltower. A single torch lies on the dirt floor, the only source of light in the room.
"Got to keep that bell a'ringin'" Flint drops his shield and charges into the room. Plan is to keep the bell ringing with his left hand and fight the goblins with his right.
"Well, so much for a stealthy approach" Seviari mutters as he runs after Flint to help protect him, rapier drawn and ready. If he runs past one of the goblins, Seviari is going to swing, hoping to surprise them
//Any chance we caught them by surprise and get advantage on the attack or anything?//
