The axe beak riding orcs are the first wave. There are about half a dozen of these riders, as far as you can tell.
// They move 100 feet per round, and close in from 999 feet (starting) to 99 feet. So those of you who are only firing ranged weapons or casting long-range spells can make the appropriate amount of attacks for each of those rounds, as per your weapon's range (remember that shooting at long range gives you Disadvantage). //
The giants and the rest of their entourage are still a ways out past the orcs, but will be upon you in a matter of minutes.
//wooo those are some fast birds//

Then Ink uses his bonus action to activate his Bladesong.
- Narth takes aim at the same bird as Ink ( Attack: 18 Damage: 6 ), then uses his bonus action to hide (stealth 6).

The archers and mages in the group rain death upon the approaching riders, dropping two orcs as the monsters close in. They also take out one axe beak, and its rider goes tumbling.
But things really heat up as the orcs close in, and Rip lights up the area in front of him with burning hands, catching two rider/bird units in the cone of flames. One axe beak is killed, and the other burnt instantly to a crisp, and the two riders are thrown.
In the distance, closing in fast behind the axe beak riders, are five plate-armored orogs! And bringing up the rear are the huge fire giants, both of whom seem to be somehow teeming with living fire.
With 4 orcs left and (2 still riding) and one riderless axe beak still charging into town, the brave dwarf Ghelryn Foehammer charges at one of the orcs that Rip unseated and kills him with a double-swing of his greataxe!
//is that a crit fail i see? Mwahahahaha burn orc! BUUUURN!!//
// Huh should have been an Axe Beak...both Axe Beaks failed their saves, throwing the orcs. Not sure how that got mixed up. But it's all good, Foehammer got the orc :) //

The birdless orc, whose partner was just killed by Foehammer, moves in to attack the dwarf, while the two orcs still riding their birds dodge all incoming blows to try and get into the town. The riderless axe beak is following his fellows.
Attacking Ghelryn Foehammer: 24 Damage: 5
The dwarf rebuffs the attack, laughing spitefully in the orc's face and calling it all sorts of names.
The orogs are now about 150 feet out and sprinting towards the action, while the giants are still a long ways off (just within long range of a longbow, but still outside of a crossbow range) and closing.
// Players (and your NPCs) are all up! The two axe-beak riders, birdless orc, and orcless bird are within 30 feet of you, in your midst, and trying to get into town. //

Marav shifts his hunter's mark to the riderless orc. He looks at Urgala, "Ready to ride again.... FOR TRIBOAR" Marav screams as he shifts into Dire Wolf form.
Urgala doesn't hesitate, her instincts kick in and she repeats "FOR TRIBOAR" her morningstar at the ready.
Marav leaps and attacks the riderless orc to start with.
