"how much is the doll? would you happen to know what settlements have been attacked?"

Looking down the street that the peddler indicated, Ink sees several iconic blue shields with engraved lions lining the left side of the street, outside of multilevel storefront & warehouse.

"The doll is 50 gold pieces normally, good sirs, but I like you—I can let him go for 45."

"I am not sure what settlements are under attack and which ones just have a bunch of frightened folk trying to escape to a walled city," grunts the old peddler. "But the stories all line up pretty well... there's giants awandering everywheres...up in the Evermoors, down by the Stone Bridge, even s'posed to be floating giant castles in the sky."

"Those stories about the giants are more believable than the price you want for the doll. Thank you for the directions," Ink say with a grin. 

The peddler looks offended. "This is first-rate enchantment!" he says. "You can teach the doll half a dozen phrases, and decide ahead of time what triggers each phrase. It's pretty amazing what this little guy can do!"

"Really? OK - you've piqued my interest... Some. May I take a closer look?" 

Ink will make sure to always keep over an arm's length away to afford him the opportunity to take a better look without giving an opening for any sort of Tom Foolery.

Angel during this time is going to be with the dogs. Allowing any kids he see to pet them. 

Marav keeps an eye on Angel... A little worried that he is gonna accidently get a kid bitten. 

//I can just imagine it now. Dog bites kids, the kid tells parent, parent tells guard, guard come to take away the dog, Angel beats up guard for trying to take away dog, we get ran out of town because Angel knocked out the guards.//

The peddler hands the doll to Ink and backs up as if preparing for a presentation. "Ask him, 'who's the most beautiful creature in the land?' And he'll respond to you."
