The gravel road stretches on for miles, skirting the misty hills of the Evermoors. You encounter no one on the road after lunchtime.
You're getting a little tired after the travel and it's getting toward night time, but you see a sign that tells you a public house is just 5 miles down the road. Would you like to push on for the inn, or set up camp in the wild?
"I don't mind continuing but I think it best to ask Borris since he has the job of carrying the cart. If he's tired then Ink can make that Hut thing for us to sleep in, right?"
// Does Marav want to use his spell to speak to Boris again? Or are you just gonna make a judgement call? If you push on, I'll need a DC 12 Constitution saving throw from everyone including Boris (I'll roll for him if & when it comes to it). //
//The hut can't fit Boris and the cart inside it can it? I say we go ahead and set up camp and guards. Occurs to me that keeping this ring could very well lead other giants straight to us.//
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Whatever we do, just let me know and I'll perform the ritual to conjure the hut. It will obscure us, but no, it won't obscure Boris or the cart - even if I create another hut. In fact, so long as we're in the radius of the spell, Boris won't be able to see us either. I don't know how he'd react to that. We'd have to tie him up and camouflage both Boris and the cart some to avoid prying eyes. Boris could possibly use some blankets, too, to keep him warm."
// Con Save ( 22 ) in case the group decides to push on, otherwise i'll conjure the hut wherever Marav thinks it best based on his survival skills. //
"Bring up the hut. The dogs can sleep with Boris and keep him company and alert us to anything we might miss. I can take first watch."
Marav begins to tend to Boris and the pups needs, giving them rations and other food. He then makes a perch on the cart where he can see everything to watch.
//During his watch, Marav will watch for game and shoot it if he sees anything that could supplement supplies.//
// I assume we're pulling off the road a bit to find some cover in the brush or trees? //
"Very well," Ink sits down where Marav suggested he place the hut, then calls out to everyone, "Everyone gather close around me - you, too, Marav, and yes, the dogs too."
When everyone (//except those PC's who choose to not stay in the radius, I'll assume everyone is unless you specifically say otherwise//), including Angel's dogs, are within ten feet of Ink, he says, "Okay everyone, don't move beyond ten feet of me until I'm done - the dogs, too."
Ink opens up his spell book and starts reading from it raising his component pouch and making various gestures with his hands - he continues doing so for about eleven minutes or so, and on a final word, anyone still in the spot Ink asked them to stay notices an almost imperceptible shimmer and that the atmosphere around them feels slightly different.
Ink gets up and stretches, saying "And THAT is "Leomund’s Tiny Hut." I can adjust the temperature and brightness within a bit. I'm changing the outer color of the dome to somewhat match the surrounding brush(forest) and it will seem opaque from the outside, but from within you'll be able to see out clearly."
You can see outside the "hut" as if you were looking through a clear glass lens. You can also leave the hut, as can any objects or projectiles on your person.
You can see outside the "hut" as if you were looking through a glass lens. You can also leave the hut, as can any objects or projectiles on your person, but once you leave you cannot re-enter.
// Not quite...... "Creatures and objects within the dome when you cast this spell can move through it freely." As long as you are inside the hut when it's cast you can move in and out of it. That's why I insisted everyone including the dogs be inside the hut when I was casting. //
"Hya Boris! This cart don't pull itself!"
Ink casts message on the knight as he rides off, "From Silverymoon? Is she safe? Is Silverymoon safe?"
