"We fought off the de facto leaders of this town last night - you think Filroy went off to warn them of us?" Ink says as he approaches the table, casting mage armor on himself before sitting down.
Anyone looking would notice on his waist are two "new" scabbards - what was left of the wight's scabbards, Ink had taken along with the swords, but used some extra clothing he had to make strips with which to wrap around the scabbards disguising their origin.
//Don't think I ever named him officially, but I was thinking Steele since when I found him he was still fighting even though he had steel inside him. Tough little bird. BTW I used most of my HD and got back all my hp and 2 level 1 spell slots if my short rest was allowed.//
"Marav - you look really tired. Will you be up for our delivery this morning? Oh - I see that your blood hawk is an 'inside pet' now."
"Just a thought - but perhaps we ought to overthrow the remaining hunt lords and take the title and keep for ourselves. We already have a relationship, although still in its infancy, with some of the Tree Ghost tribe. And when we find Rip's family, I hold onto the hope that we shall, they will need a place to stay."
"The shaman mentioned that the wights were a stabilizing force in the area - we may have to fill that void so that the townsfolk here maintain a modicum of safety.... Thinking aloud here, that's all."
"Steele has decided to join us. Since I was the one who killed his flock and in turn rescued him, we have an... interesting bond." He feeds Steele some food.
"As for the hunt lords... how many did we kill anyway? I think we can do that, but in truth, I am not interested in them. Nor am I really interested in the delivery right now. I want to find the giant and Rips kids." Marav sighs. "After, we find them I will be happy to kill anything that moves if you want. Though it occurs to me that we could be better prepared for wights than we were."
"Perhaps, but they are most interested in us now, and I'd rather clear that keep out before moving on.... last thing I want is a trio of wights coming after us in the middle of the night. We were told that the hunt lords might also know the location of the Red Tiger tribe - we interrogate one, before sending it to the great beyond, and if not, perhaps this Harshnag could point us in the right direction - but we'd have to find him first which we are not sure if or when we would. And I disagree, I think we are much more prepared today than last night - they caught us completely off guard last night... at least now we have a better idea of what we're dealing with - so do they of course, and we'd be taking it to their home where they'd have the advantage, but I really do think we can cleanse this town of their blight."
"Rip - you have the most at risk here - what did you want to do?"

A long breakfast can count as a short rest :)
If you are taking the short rest, then everyone else has an extra hour to do what they want to do.
"I figure the wights keep others from attacking this place, thus the stabilizing the old druid mentioned. Let's ask about town and see if the people here want to be rid of the hunt lords in the first place? take about an hour meet here then decide?"

// Flint and Marav are staying behind, is anyone going with Rip? //
“I’m game for taking out the Hunt Lords. Wights don’t offer anything good. If we could lead them out into the sunlight we’d have the upper hand.” Angel says and then answers Rips question with “I think I’ll do some light training if you don’t mind. I think I’ve figuered out how to more effectively dodge their fireballs but I’d still like to train on it a little more.”

"Alright Steele, lets check out the town!" Rip will ask random Villagers their opinions on the hunt lords and if they could be rid of them would they want to be, and if there's a butcher or person who sells meat Rip will buy some scraps for his feathered friend and some bones for the dogs... and a carrot or apple for Boris.

As they walk out the front door, Ink asks that he and Rip take a slower pace as they walk about so that they can be actively vigilant of their surroundings. Then comments, "You know, given how last night went down, I kind of like we're tempting fate just the two of us walking about."
Then with a smile, "Let's see what she brings us today!"
// Ink dropped "flaming sphere" and "pyrotechnics," swapping in "thunderwave" and "counterspell," and adding "slow" to his prepared spells for the day (the other spell added to his spell book on leveling up was "haste"). //
