Flint spits in his hand and extends it. "A fair price by me estimation. Mind ye smelt it soon, there's some who yet value it intact. Can ye show me some o' yer wares?" Flint extends his holy symbol and blesses the forge, and the smith if he allows. "Know ye Master Foehammer outta Triboar?"
Crownsguard leans down to Ink as Flint spits into his hand, “That is a strange custom. Are such practices common in today’s age?”

Crownsguard leans down to Ink as Flint spits into his hand, “That is a strange custom. Are such practices common in today’s age?”
Ink whispers, "I confess that I do not know its origin, but I've seen it when individuals, typically male merchants and practical artisans, come to an agreement."
The dwarf smith reciprocates Flint’s gesture, spitting into his own palm and grasping Flint’s proffered hand. “Done,” says he, and gives you several small silk bags full of gems.
“And many thanks for the blessings. Gods know I could use it! I’d be happy to sell ye arms or armor. Everything I make is to order—just put yer request in, and I’ll get it done.” The dwarf begins to affix chains to the adamantine ring and setting up a pulley system to run towards his forge.
Ink sees many religious symbols relating to the Morndinsamman, and especially Moradin, adoring the walls in the workshop, but nothing relating specifically to the Harpers or Zhentarim.
Ink, looking around the shop, smiles, finally saying, "I tend to use a pair of blades, like these..." Ink unsheaths the well worn, but still sharp, scimitars, "... unfortunately, we keep finding trouble that tends to - resist - their edges. Seems like I need something sharper or enhanced, if you know what I mean. Also, we have a couple of our friends who stayed in the tavern. A halfling in need of a better rapier and a druidic ranger who could use some upgraded blades for close up fighting. Perhaps Flint and Crownsguard here would be interested in weapons and armor. You see, the halfling and I can only wear the lightest of armor, and the druid, well, outside of his weapons he tends to go without metal." Ink curiously observes the smith to see how'd he react to the metal aversion comment.
"Oh, Flint, given the iconography here - you think we should show him that hammer we're carrying? Maybe he can cleanse it while still keeping some of its magical strengths and properties?"
“A halfling, a Druidic ranger, a construct, a cleric of Moradin, and an elf. Quite the composition of a group!” The smith seems amused. “Don’t have much use for druids myself, but I can imagine he’s handy to have around in a pinch:
“I can silver your blades, if that’s what you’re looking for!” The dwarf gestures towards his forge. “I’m a quick work with silversmithing. 100 gold pieces per weapon, and I can easily have it ready for you in a tenday or sooner.”
The dwarf sizes up Flint and Crownsguard. “Never made armor for a construct before, but I would imagine the concept isn’t much different. Depending on the armor, you’re looking at a tenday or longer. I have also just come into a fair bit of adamantium,” he says with a wink, “so that can of course be added to new pieces, for some added hardness.”
"An what would yer turnaround be if ah was ta help ye build it? Wit' Moradin's help ah can turn out a day's work in an hour. Fer meself, ah got in mind a set o' full plate, hardened by adamantium. What would th' cost be fer that?"
Ink pipes in, "What about an adamantium rapier for the halfling, some adamantium gilding to support Crownsguard's 'natural' armor, and a pair of adamantium scimitars for myself both with silvered edges. If you have anything, err, magical, I'd be interested in that, too."
He then comments to Flint, "I'm not sure how long we can stay, Flint. Neither Rip nor Marav came after us which means they likely received that message Rip was waiting for... and you know we can't leave those two alone because they will assuredly get into trouble. Remember the stone giants? Them just riding in? A halfling on a dire wolf? Perhaps best we leave our orders here with Mr.... Actually, I don't think we were properly introduced. I'm Ink, Crownsguard is our resident knight in mechanical armor, and this, of course, is Master Flint."
“Very well, I can get right to work on those. A delicate blade of adamantine for a halfling, and two silvered adamantine scimitars for yerself. I’ll have to measure the construct, and I believe I will be able to fashion some plating for him. I don’t trade much in magical items. I heard tell of a brigand who did come through here recently, had a magical hammer on his person that I’d wager he pilfered from a dwarf king’s burial chamber. Heard there was a bounty put on his head, too! Long gone by now, I s’pose.”
When making introductions, the dwarf smiles and says “Tyrek Smithammer, of the Fireforge clan. At your service.”
"An what would yer turnaround be if ah was ta help ye build it? Wit' Moradin's help ah can turn out a day's work in an hour. Fer meself, ah got in mind a set o' full plate, hardened by adamantium. What would th' cost be fer that?"
“Ah! A cleric of Moradin himself. A pleasure to be sure, brother,” says Tyrek. “If ye were to help me, I s’pose we could at least double or triple the output. Cut a tenday’s work into half a week or less. And the cost would be rated accordingly, of course. 1,600 gold pieces, minus yer workload.”
"A true pleasure to meet you Master Tyrek Smithammer of the Fire Forge. Like before, I'll let you and Flint talk and I'm sure you need to measure Crownsguard, but regarding this" brigand," does he have a name? And who might we speak to hear in Mirabar to learn more about this thief?" interjects Ink.
After a bit of small talk, Ink turns to Flint and Crownsguard and says, "You two are welcome to stay, but I'm really worried our friends will take off alone. Now that we have a deal basically structured here, I'm going to head back to our tavern. I'll even take their shares of the sale, less whatever gems we need to leave to cover Tyrek's quote of 1,600 gold pieces."
"Whul as Ink says, ah got a task ta take care o' first. Journey inta th' mountains somewhere an ah dunno how long ah'll be. Ah'll leave ye me sizes, if ye get started ah'll help ye finish when ah get back. Half now, half on receipt?" // away, would that count as adamantine armor? //
Crownsguard has been quietly observing the dealings, slowly learning. He does seem to perk up at the mention of a brigand. He strokes Cat’s head and looks to the group, “Agreed. Rip’s family is also a concern. I do not believe it would be good to leave him.”

Tyrek agrees to the terms of half now and half on completion. "If that's all, I'll take my leave! It's been a long day, and I'll get to work on your orders first thing in the morning."
"Brilliant, we'll be seeing you soon!" exclaims Ink. He heads back to the cart outside with Bronzefire, saying to him and the others, "We should get back to the stable, so that we can get back to the inn..." then in a whisper, "...in Everlund."
On their way back, he'll ask permission to ride the cart as he needs to check something. Ink will take out the adamantine rod and cast locate object with it seeking other rods like it. Other than that, Ink simply mentions he's eager to return to the tavern to both rest and read.
Zaspar, the Harper agent, obliges and drives you back to the stables, and gets to work on the sigil sequence to send you back to Everlund. Meanwhile, Ink is able to use the oversized rod to cast the divination spell, but senses no such objects in the vicinity.
Once Zaspar is done casting the spell, he steps back and allows you to go through the briefly open portal.
