Rip launches into an abbreviated retelling with himself in the forfront, how they talked Beedo into joining them (with less coercion than what they really used) short telling of the battle to clear the Goblins and Beedo's assistance, then about the Zhentarim trying to usurp the village/town and Solace's cry of "you will not have these peoples homes!" and that challenging fight and Beedo's fighting despite being wounded. not overselling him but making sure to note his involvement. Then of the Orc horde and claiming "the Compensater" as well as his sick burn. Mentioning how we were going to wait another day to find the villagers when Beedo told us the goblins had them. the fight in the cave "I gave Beedo a choice when he and I were surrounded, stay with us or return to Hark, without hesitation Beedo ran to free you all!" when detailing the battle against Hark i put emphasis his viciousness and Beedo's almost deadly wounds. using minor illusion to add visuals

After Rip's passionate performance, Ink will provide an anecdote about a goblin-human reconciliation that occurred some time ago... providing emphasis that if it could happen once, it could happen again - perhaps offering that friendship is not necessarily the goal, but peace and stability for all people is. Ink will also elaborate on the moment when after defeating the vile Hark and the mindless ooze that was poisoning the goblin's only source of clean water, the party rested, completely asleep, and I observed, while on watch that the goblins, came to fetch water and although we were essentially exhausted and defenseless by this point and all but I were asleep, they took care to fetch the water without disturbing us - even though they had the opportunity to be hostile, they chose the more peaceful path.
Both in older and recent history we see possibilities of peace. Although prudent to be guarded, there's no reason not to be peaceful and respectful to each other, because in the end, most people, despite differences in manners, let's say, prefer their existence to continue in peace.
//sorry i had to interrupt and interject, but i have to go on a long drive and won't be able to access my phone for a bit. Away, i think you can access my character sheet, feel free to roll whatever you think is most appropriate, if necessary... thanks AND good luck!!//
Rip launches into an abbreviated retelling ... using minor illusion to add visuals
// No roll necessary! This was great. //
You notice several villagers nodding at various times during the story, and they are all engaged due to your brief manner and tasteful use of bardic magic.
The children (three humans and four halflings, in total) are all especially enraptured, and the widowed Mrs. Summerhawk looks immensely grateful for the reprieve.
// Will move things forward in a few hours, using Ink's narrative as a way to kick off the arguments for coexistence. Let me know if there's anything else the rest of you wanted to do before the meeting starts in earnest, besides Rip (who has given you just a bit more time to rub elbows). //
"Thank you Ink" Rip turns to the crowd "that's the point of this meeting, to set boundaries for both parties at the very least. I know many of you suffered loss at the command of Hark" at this he acknowledges the villagers he met with earlier "but do not forget, while you suffered at the hands of Hark for days the goblins that were not fighters suffered under his rule for months, maybe even years. Now Hark is dead, and our comrade in arms Beedo is their new boss. I feel he has at least earned a chance at peaceful relations with Nightstone"
Flint will continue to monitor the ring leaders and try to read their emotions as the talk continues. He will hold his own comments until those three start weighing in.
Angel, worried that things might turn bad, ie the villagers attacking the goblins, feels a little more at ease after Rip’s speech. He thinks this might actually work.
"Have you forgotten what those goblins have done to these people?" Solace spoke up. "They ran for refuge to a cave, and instead of mercy they were shown savagery. They were killed, eaten, and tormented! They were taken advantage of in their moment of greatest need. And how are we to know which goblins are to blame and which are innocent? For all we know, they all partook in this heinous treatment of our poor neighbors. Just because one of them has shown himself to be friendly for the time being, doesn't mean that he will always be so or that he can cause his people to change their evil ways, nor does it make up for the sins of many!
"This isn't the time to leave the vermin alone to repopulate. We should go there now and wipe these things out while they are still weakened! That way they will never again rob or kill the people of Nightstone."
Several of the villagers nodded in agreement with this. Mrs. Summerhawk tried to shield her kids' ears. A few other villagers broke into tears as they remembered the loved ones they recent lost to the goblins.
Hiral looked moved by this, as if he were working himself up to say something against the goblins.
But there were a good few who looked taken aback by Solace's harsh words. One of them, a Tiefling herself (you remember her name as Destiny Agganor), was shaking her head.
// Someone else is going to have to speak up for Rip, Beedo, and the goblins. //

Marav stands up, "I am not good with words, but those goblins are mostly dead. Those that fought us died. Beedo leads what is left. This world is not what it was a week or two ago. Giants are on the move, you think you alone were attacked? If you hadn't been held captive by the goblins you'd be dead by the hand of the orcs we killed."
"You don't have the luxury of not working with them. You really want another enemy? The orcs would have moved on from here and killed the goblins after this. You have shared problems now. Also, YOU are the ones who invaded their home, YOU are the trespassers. They didn't invade YOUR home you invaded theirs."
"Also know this, if you take up arms against Beedo you take arms up against me."

No, Angel is shocked to hear this. At seeing the tensions rise will interject hoping to ease the tensions and cause peace.
“Let’s just calm down everyone. It’s in time like these that we must remember Lathanders teaching. That the night is darkest before the dawn. We are almost at dawn now. We are almost at peace here. There is a bigger threat out there right now; Giants. None of us are going to survive if they come back. So let’s all just get along now until we solve the bigger problem. The enemy of my enemy is my friend yes.”
Hiral speaks after Angel, "I'm not sure, friend. I can't condone a course of action that puts out people at risk."
"I think we'd be a lot safer with the goblins eradicated!" Said Renarra Delfryndel, a middle-aged human widow. Her son was among those eaten by the goblins.
"And what?" asked Destiny Agganor, the Tiefling. "Murder them in their beds? How does that make us any better than them? You heard the half-orc. Their soldiers are all gone, and they're open to changing."
"All the more reason we should march on them now, take them out while we can!" piped up one of the guards who had been kept prisoner in the caves.
"Have any of you stopped to realize that you'd all be there still, waiting to be eaten if it weren't for their new leader? He didn't have to tell us where you were, he could have sit back and done nothing. Instead he led an armed band to fight his own people to do what is right."
Even as he speaks, Hiral the priest looks at the imposing figure of Marav. "Umm, however, it might be best to consider other options. I mean, of the goblins aren't going to hurt anyone any more?"
"So to avenge their deaths you intend to go into their home and slaughter women and children? Do you intend to kill them in their sleep as well? how then, are you any different from Hark?" Rip looks directly at Solace "There was a time not so long ago, that your kind was considered vermin for no other reason then you looked different. Here you are now because someone took the chance that you could be more then what society dubbed you. If one Goblin can learn to be good, then others can be as well. Killing everything you disagree with has never been an effective strategy. The Lords Alliance says to eliminate threats by any means necessary, why is it that we the civilized always immediately go to kill kill kill, and never peace or understanding? I'm not fool enough to think all threats can be talked down, but we have a chance to prove we are the better here. We have an opportunity to show these goblins a better way."
Rip pauses to take a breath, and continues solemnly "Hasn't there been enough death here? I for one am tired of it..."
“Hiral, there are no goblin combatants left. They couldn’t hurt you if they wanted to and they don’t want to. I think it’s time to spread Lathanders Light to that dark cave.”
Even as he speaks, Hiral the priest looks at the imposing figure of Marav. "Umm, however, it might be best to consider other options. I mean, of the goblins aren't going to hurt anyone any more?"

Morak strides up to stand with Marav. "You know he's right," he said, looking at the villagers. "Now, I'm just the Innkeeper, but I've around a time or two and I like to think I know when a battle is worth fighting. And this just isn't one of those times.
"True, that blasted Hark did some terrible things. And now he's dead thanks to these fellas here, including Beedo."
