Grykham yells up the stairs as he follows Aubree up.
"Stop being so damned official Krivnaar. Yea we own this joint. And we don't need no ghost wrecking it. Its in bad enough shape and all the caskets in the cellar are wrecked. Its gonna take a good chunk of change to fix this place up and make it liveable. Its a mess and you ain't helping by throwing stuff around. Why don't you just scat!"
The ghost frowns at Grykham. "This place is in shambles because of burglars and squatters. Thankfully, the entry to the upstairs level has been sealed and hasn't been tampered with; the taproom is obviously less fortunate." The ghost hovers around, inspecting each individual person of the party.
"My name was Lif. I was a staff member here many years ago, before I was slain here. Ruffians took a brawl too far, and I was obviously the less fortunate." Lif frowns once more. He then hovers higher into the air.
"With new owners, that means we can get this place booming again. We can make this place presentable, and make it a sight worth seeing!" he then starts floating around, quite giddy at the prospect of getting this place back in business.
Morgan isn't sure what to make of the spirit, but, as long as it is not hostile, he is ok with it. After it finishes speaking, and is clearly in a good mood, he turns back to the others. "Well, unless we wish no payment for our work, I suggest we agree to take this place, and, after an inspection, we can decide next steps." He nods to the spirit. "As our new friend says, we can get the place fixed up, and earn some extra coin ongoing from it. Not bad overall as far as I am concerned."
Aubree makes it up to freeze at the sight of Lif. Her posture erect and limbs still, she'd stand and listen to the ghost, nodding along with what he says and finally bows to him. "My name is Aubree Fallenguard, you can call me Bree if you wish, like the cheese." She says, being friendly and smiling.
Krivnaar is a little surprised at how quickly the paladin Aubree warms up to the undead, but notes it's been a strange day. "You must really love this place to stick around through your, er, early retirement, as it were," Krivnaar says to the ghost, before turning his eyes upwards. "You say the upper levels were sealed off - any reason why? And how could we get in to inspect?"
"Delighted to meet you, Bree. I do apologize for my antics earlier. I normally have to resort to scare tactics to protect the manor." Lif replies to Aubree, and looks onto Krivnaar.
"I stay here because the manor is my tether - I'm unable to leave. It's my undying wish to see this manor full restored and returned to its former glory." he says, as he floats near the exit. "The upper level was sealed, as the entrance is on the side of the building, people were unaware of its accessibility - I was able to keep the upper levels in tact, for the most part."
Rashar smiles as he listens to the excitable ghost. "A pleasure to meet you, Lif. You say the upper rooms are intact? Please, give us a tour of the house."

Interesting, Jarret thinks as he looks at the ghost making everyday conversation with his party members. “Shall we continue upstairs then?” he asks, not directed at anyone in particular.
"Yes, let's. It sounds like, we need to go out first to get into the upper levels via this side entrance..." Krivnaar heads towards the exit indicated by the Ghost.
Grykham climbs up out of the cellar. "Well its a pity the caskets down in the cellar are all smashed. That would have been a nice start. We'll have to figure out a way to earn some money so we can afford to fix the place up."
Per the map above, the stairway to the first floor is North of the taproom, but can't be accessed from the taproom. The side entrance has a door that's been boarded up. Lif isn't able to follow you outside, so you'll need to manually pry the boards off the door so that you may step inside.
"I'm also free for any helping hands if you wish, I'm used to hard labor." She claps her hands twice, her gauntlets clanking as she readies herself if need be.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We have a deed, that is not yet official." Morgan points out. He takes the crowbar and moves around to the side of the house and attempts to pry loose the boards there.
While Morgan works the door, Krivnaar can't help but chime in with legal commentary. "I would point out, the current owner of this property - Volothamp Geddarm - has given us express permission to thoroughly inspect the site before transfer, so we are well within our rights to force the door. I'll be sure to give any guard not familiar with property law a talking-to!"
The door comes undone fairly easy, revealing a door that leads up to the second floor of Trollskull Manor. Unlike the taproom, the furniture in the common room hasn't been tampered with. Everything's located where it should be, albeit the furniture has collected large amounts of dust. The other rooms, such as the Den, has shattered glasses across the floor, from burglar attempts. Bricks and various stones can be seen spread among the glass, which is what was used to shatter the glass.
The third floor is perfectly in tact. Nothing's broken or shattered, just dusty. The attic is empty.
"I did what I could to keep this place together. I have limits." Lif adds in, after showing them around the whole place.
"I'd say you did a good job over all." Morgan says with a nod of approval. "Let's get that door nailed back into place, and see about meeting with that majister to sign the deed."
"Agreed. But maybe let's have a closer look around before turning back?" Krivnaar heads to peruse the library curious as to the sort of collection the prior occupant would have maintained, and interested if there were any items of particular note.
"Wonderful job, Lif." She gives a smile to the ghost. "Though I am curious, you are the only spirit in this manor?" She asks, examining the state of the dusty rooms.
