The knucklebone, as expected, triggers a similar dimension door effect.
On the other side of the gate, is a strange room whose purpose is not clear at first glance, but appears to be some sort of laboratory, as destroyed alchemical apparatuses are spread throughout the room. The room is enormous, nearly 50 feet wide and tall, and extends in darkness past the character's sight. The gate the characters entered from is set at one end of the room, halfway up the wall, with wide stairs leading down to the floor. Four massive tables in the center of the room hold mostly broken, shattered glass and things that have long since rotten or rusted to dust. They are 10 feet high and 15 feet long, and made of a green-tinged metal. Human-sized spiral stairs, clearly built as part of the tables creation, lead up to the top of each table.
The tables are visible from a massive everbright lantern (at least 3 feet to a side) that sits on one, shedding light in a hundred foot diameter. Arcane runes and Abyssal graffiti adorn the visible walls and apparatuses. A tube leads down from the center of each table to the floor, to fall into a pit of darkness.
Sylzet, meanwhile, is going to be eyeing the lantern. "...How much do you think that is worth, and do you think I can use it to decorate my castle when we get out of here?" She asks with a smirk, before stepping through the dimension door and making her way down the stairs... Greatsword at the ready, its light washed out by the lantern.

The devices and tools appear to have no easily discernible function to Mother Lazarus, but she is able to tell that there are large pieces missing, and what is left is simply too damaged to provide any clue as to its purpose.
Zanver seems to take Sylzet at face value and tilts his head while considering. "Hmm... a relatively simple spell, but quite more powerful than normal, allowing for the exponential expenditure of components, adding the the exoticness of its provenance...
...I would estimate between 5,000 to 25,000 gold pieces, by Rosean standard, depending on finding the appropriate buyer."
Torrin makes his way down the stairs to join sylzet "four tables, four of us, should we each take one to search??". he steps towards the closest table.
"25 thousand, hm? I want to bring that lantern back somehow. 3 foot to a side, it should fit into a bag of holding, shouldn't it?" Sylzet murmurs, already plotting on how to get the lantern down safely before being shaken from her focus in regards to Torrin. "Oh, yes. Four tables, one for each of us." She moves to take the furthest table and climbs up the stairs to the top.

As each person moves forward to the tables, those with darkvision can see that the room extends further into darkness, at least another 60 feet, though you can see the beginning of massive stairs just at the edge of your vision. Further on, there is visible the very faint green glow, as though .
(OOC: I'll post a picture of this when I can get the chance to upload it) The tables are arranged almost equidistant from one another. There is 20 feet between each table on all sides, but the tables themselves are 10 feet by 15 feet.

Torrin slowly paces around the top of the table, looking for something of interest, but his thoughts keep returning to the spear he now carries in his hand
The spiral stairs at the end of each green metal table, upon which the remains of broken arcane implements rest. In the center of each table, a large hole, at least 5 foot in diameter, in each table leads down to a pit in the ground that descends beyond sight. It's clear from the marks on the table that something had been bolted onto the table over top of the pits, but none remain now.
Sylzet and Zanver see that there are two further holes and evidence that two more tables were present based on the marks on the ground. Up closer, all the characters have some kind of idea that these devices used transmutation and necromancy magic. There is nothing of value left.
"Whoever decided this was their lab did a good job scrubbing it." Sylzet would say, before pointing up at the lantern since there doesn't seem to be anything worth it to her. "Someone help me get that down."

The halfling wizard blinked. "I could summon a floating disk as a ritual, yes. Do you wish to carry the lantern with us? If your plan is to simply put it in your bag, why not just put it in your bag there?"
(OOC: Maybe I wasn't clear, it's just sitting on the table, as though a giant's hand had set it there and walked away. Please forgive my very poorly drawn picture).

Beyond the edge of the light, Sylzet can see the edge of massive stairs, each at least 5 feet high, leading upwards into the darkness.
In a bit of insight, Torrin recognizes this room from the descriptions in the Warlock's book as "The Pit Room."
