Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
Upon activating the controls there is a faint sound, just at the edge of your hearing, that is really only noticeable because of how quiet it's been so far. After a few minutes the sound becomes loud enough to realize its the faint sound of air being displaced, like a faint wind. A few minutes after that, there is a faint glowing in the shaft and a large floating disk comes into view, glowing runes engraved upon its surface. It rises until it is flush with the floor, and fits the shaft with geometric perfection, such that it would be hard to fit a parchment piece along its edge.
Sylzet looks around for a stone or something and yeets the stone into the 'stargate.'
"I'm not a fan of any of this. But, please, our platinum shield... do go first." She says drily, watching what happens to the stone.

Anyone standing near the control panel notices that the lever has returned to the "hover" position after the disk rose into view and stopped.
Sylzet's stone bounces and skips across the disk, exactly as it would across a stone floor. It comes to rest on the disk and sits there, with no discernible reaction.
The disk itself appears almost identical to a wizard's summoned Floating Disk except that it's 30 feet across, and is edged by glowing blue-green runes.
"...Damn." The woman steps onto the disk. "I don't like any of this, I hope you know that." She says, looking pointedly at Torrin. A small smirk comes to her face. "...but I will admit, you're not that bad."
Odd, considering she has whiffed most of her attacks when the fighting started...

The lever reset itself to hover after moving to the top of the shaft. Pulling the lever to "descend" causes the disk to drop, slowly at first then with increasing speed. It drops down for what seems like an eternity. It's near impossible to tell how deep the shaft runs. But eventually, several minutes later, the platform drops out of the shaft, and settles upon a dais, nearly 50 feet across, and ten feet tall in the center of another, oversized room--around 50 feet tall--faintly illuminated by the glowing runes on the platform, and a control panel identical to the one you saw above.
(Everyone please roll a perception check)
In one direction, that Zanver decides arbitrarily to call "west," you can all see a faint glow coming from behind what looks like a fallen chunk of the roof, about 40 feet from where you're standing. To the "east" the room is cast into darkness, extending beyond the sight of even those with darkvision. The room extends to the "north" and "south" away from the pedastal another 10 feet each, making the room 70 feet wide.

"...I guess it is just a lift. That seems to simple..." She kicks the rock she threw on the disc previously off it in *a* direction. It doesn't matter which.

The stone here is a dark blue-gray color and seems reflective of the light from the control panel. The control panel here is the same as the one above, except that the Abyssal labels read "Ascend," "Hover," and "Summon." It currently points to "Hover." The raised dais has wide descending human-sized stairs that spiral out starting at the north and south to end on the floor at the east and west. The stairs are carved in geometric patterns and designs that appear purely decorative. Where the stairs end to the east and west, there are a pair of short, squat pillars, about 4 feet high, upon which sit stone heads, carved with grinning teeth and sinister eyes. The heads are hollow, and are reminiscent of the carved pumpkins and gourds that children might make for Hallow's End to ward off dead spirits.
The floor beyond the stairs appears as simple stone, compared to the previous room, it appears rough and seems older, somehow.
The entire place has the feel of something sleeping.
(Sorry, I totally missed your reply here. There is a kind of constant feedback of fiendish presence, as the very rock itself here is infused with the energy of the Abyss.)
For Torrin:
The most powerful source you can sense, comes directly from your spear. Outside of that, nothing seems to overpower the general background "noise" so to speak, of the Abyss.
"I can't wait to be free of this accursed place" says Torrin, followed by a quick sign of prayer to Bahumut as he starts down the stairs heading to the west, where the partially obscured light is.
