Vor look at the two, Davril and Logar, "Probly be a good idea t' slit all their throats, save folks a lot of trouble, not t' mention the loot we might be able t' collect." He grins at Logar, "Betcha that'd pay for a lot of spears."

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
"After a very long chat with those two as to where they accquired their "trade goods", yes. If we should chance upon some other group it might be slightly different. Those miscreants might have deserved death as a just punishment for their wicked ways, but putting a farmer to the stake for smuggling a few pigs to avoid fees and taxes is wicked in its own way, and has nothing to do with justice"
"aye, if it's any other fella, I'd shake them up and turn them in, but those two......oh, that's a grudgin', as dwarfs would say."
(ooc: if dwarfs exist, then lukas would learn rudimentary knowledge on travels, if dwarfs don't exist, he'd read fairy tales involving dwarfs and their culture.)
"We have time to take a side trip." Vothrolo responds. "But, are you ready to take on another adversary after this morning's adventures? Is it going to be the two gentlemen you are acquainted with, or do they have more accomplices on this side of the border?"
"Oh we need to go to Mercers for sure. We could all use a rest. Not to mention we should taje some time with those maps. Could be we can get two toads with one spear." Responds Quin.
Lorgar shrugs his shoulders as he admits defeat: "Well, you might be right. They likely have some backup, seeing as they were tight with the commander at the border guard - it could end up with us bitting off more than we can chew. Besides, they might not even be there and the whole endevour could turn out to be wasted time. We can go to Mercers and perhaps deal with this later, should the opportunity present itself."
The trip back to Mercer's is very uneventful. The guards at the border are much more disinterested this time around. One guard does notice some blood stains on a few pieces of clothing and asks about that, but, seem satisfied (and somewhat pleased), with Vothrolo's explanation that the party killed a few goblins they encountered on their journey.
Once back at the tavern, Vothrolo leads the party into the front room, where the individual manning the desk clearly knows her. "They are my companions and work for the Association. We'll take the normal rooms." The half-elf hands over some coins, and takes several keys back from the clerk. But, rather than leading the party through the door into the tavern, she turns around and goes back outside, leading the party around the side of the building to a small wing of the larger structure. Using one of the keys, Vothrolo opens the door and enters a short hallway with several doors leading off of it. Going to the first door, the half-elf enters a key into the door and opens it. She heads in and motions for the party to follow her in.
The room contains a large table, about half a dozen comfortable chairs and several bookcases stocked with books. Four doors lead off of this room. Vothrolo points to one and says "That is my room. The other three rooms are yours. Split up however you want."
Behind the doors that she points to you, the rooms are nearly identical. Each contains four beds, with a chest at the foot of each bed. The beds are larger and have mattresses stuffed with feathers rather than the straw mattresses in your prior rooms.
Once everyone is settled in, Vothrolo calls the group back out into the main room. "We can use this area for discussing our plans for the adventures ahead. No need to worry about people overhearing our conversations in here. You can stash your weapons in here, rather than at the front desk. But, don't take them into the bar. Mercer will confiscate any weapons that you take into the bar."
Quin looks about and can't help but grin. "Long way from the alley behind Bartoks." He muses to himself. He takes a bed in the room across from Vothrolo. He stashes all his weapons but a dagger that he conceals. Back in the meeting room he helps spread out all the materials they gathered from the basement. He compares all the maps looking for some correlations or any thing that might give a clue as to what their next moves should be.
Davril moves to take one of the yet unclaimed room, preferring someone else make a choice about roommates and stashing his weapons and armor in the chest at the foot of the bed. He rejoins the others in the main room, "Do you have a plan ready for the next step, or do we have some downtime while you research future sites?"
(Sorry, little hazy on geography, is the town we're now in large enough to have good markets to sell our loot and purchase new items?)
Once the party is gathered back in the common room, Vothrolo says "The next cache I have on my list is located at the southern end of the Belgrund Mountains. The information in my little book indicates that we will need to visit the area on the equinox, which is three days away. That gives us some time to look over what we found in Springholde and take care of any other tasks that you may wish to accomplish."
When Lorgar mentions the statue that the party found in the wagon, and Davril asks about merchants, Vothrolo thinks for a couple seconds before stating "Ooh, I'd forgotten about the statue, and I'll ask Mercer about merchants. I'll be right back." With that the half-elf leaves the room, returning about 15 minutes later.
"Well, the statue is not from Kwalmendi. It is only about 200 years old, rather than more than 1,000 year old artifacts were looking for. That is somewhat disappointing, but, we'll find more treasure soon. And, Mercer said that he is expecting a merchant caravan to pass through here tomorrow or the next day. That should give you opportunities to sell what you want, and, we'll be able to purchase supplies. Mercer said that one of the individuals in the caravan does trade in gems, so you should be able to get those gems appraised."
OOC The party is staying at Mercer's Tavern, which is located in at a crossroads. There aren't many other buildings in the vicinity, but, as, noted above, merchants do pass through here frequently as this area sits on the major overland routes connecting Sanbeyonne, Kardagen and the Free Cities.
OOC Also, sorry about the delay in posting. I have not getting any notifications from D&D Beyond, so I wasn't aware that people were posting.
OOC - fast forward to trade and leaving for the new objective, or does someone have other wishes? By the way, how many potions did we find again, and who has them?
Vor comes out of one of the rooms after stashing his weapons, he will keep his crowbar handy as an impromptu weapon. “So, what’s the take from our wee romp look like? I need t’ get a dagger, or two. Be real handy fighting’ in close.”
He looks at Vothrolo, “How long d’ ye think it’ll take us t’ get where we need to be next? I hope the’r’s enough time for a drink.”

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Davril will pass over his pair of daggers to Vor, "I prefer my spear anyway, you're welcome to them."
(I'm good to fast forward through the actual trading and distribute coin for what we sell and deduct cost of purchases. I'm assuming just basic PHB items available? Persuasion roll for better deals purchasing or selling items: 8)

"aye. Mercer's first, revenge second. We still need to sort the loot anyway."
Davril nods and starts to head out, "Coin is as split as we can, have to wait until we're somewhere a little bigger to sell the rest and split it."
