The tracks are already a day or two old, but because of the dust they are easy to follow. They lead towards the right side of the room, away from the large hole and the falling water that you can see to the west. But suddenly just at the beginning of the ramp that leads up, they stop. You check all around, everything is dusty so there is no way to hide ones trck on stone or something. It is also unlikely that he backtracked unless he was extremely skillfull.
Hifu is sufficiently freaked out by this floating brain and tentacles, it is good that he has already relieved himself or he would be doing so currently. He says "floating brain and tentacles, floating brain and tentacles!" to everyone and whips out a dart and flings it at the brain. After that he back pedals and gets back, behind Kravek and tries to seek cover from the tentacles whipping around, crouching behind a stalagmite.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Hifus dart misses its mark and clatters uselessly against the stone wall.
The creature flies above Gilgin and tentacles try to hit him from 10 ft above while he was studding the kobald tracks.
Attack: 11 Damage: 8
Gilgin quickly rolls to the side and the tentacles miss their target. The creature then flies to the tunnel leading west towards the sound of the waterfall. The ceiling over there is a bit lower, so the monster is floating 10ft above ground now. Anyone who is 6ft tall or got a reach weapon can reach it.
As Hifu mentions the creature Kravek looks up stopping in his tracks at the strange creature. Not being used to creatures of the underdark he squints his eyes to try and see if hes seeing it clearly.
With Hifu moving behind him Kravek moves forward to Gilgin taking out a handaxe and throwing it at the creature as he moves. When arriving at Gilgin he holds his shield horizontally partially above Gilgin to cover him from the creatures tentacles.

Both Kraveks and Hifus attacks miss and their weapons bounce against the rock before falling to the ground. The monster itself, still smoking where Nyxs attack hit it, flyx of into the darkness of the bottomless shaft and up. Only seconds later you hear a high pitched squeak that suddenly cuts of. All you can hear now is the monotony of the falling water.
If it is gone, Hifu searches the ground to pick up his darts and looks for any goodies that may have shaken out of the pockets of unsuspecting victims. "Wonder where it went and why it left? That creature looked tough, I was surprised that it would fly away. Maybe it was scared to try to eat something as large as you, Kravek, maybe he was worried you would cause indigestion."

Kravek looks strangely at Hifu after his remark. It would take a while to eat me i gues. I suppose it wanted a smaller snack. He grins as he starts searching for his handaxe, using his torch to light the way.
“Don’t be silly, the poor creature was scared of me ha! Rightfully so too! Shall we follow the other tracks and find these little critters! ‘Tis gettin’ late an’ I wanna leave us some time to dig some gems up!”
“Should we look to the west now? Or go to the south and west? We may wish to go west here and see if we can find them without just walking into the middle of them.” Any sign of tracks or movement into the western passage?

The exit that leads west from the room where you encountered the brain monster, opens up into the huge bottomless pit. You can see the wooden bridge you walked on earlier up left and another wooden bridge and some rope crossing the pit down right. Each is around 15 to 20ft higher or lower then you are now. To your right you also see the small creek falling down into the abyss.
James you look up to the wooden walkway that you crossed earlier and you see a red tail and a pointy snout of a small (gnome sized) creature hidden between the beams of the construction.
Excitedly, Gilgin starts following the tracks, ”Hehe , gonna get ye”
