Spark coughs in surprise.

”Barely anything’s broken, my good man.  You hardly needed an artificer of my skill to fix this.”

(Should I roll something to reconnect?)

"How do we prove we're official, paid up, registered order folks? We don't get cloaks, do we get badges or pins or something?"

Aimee signs with a magnificent flourish taking up far to much space on the page.

"For 15 gold I want a badge! That is a lot of books!"

(Spark, you can make a sleight of hand check or dexterity check with tinkers tools)

”Well young Book Wyrms, the order doesn’t give out badges. By signing you can now be recognised by senior members and magisters, you could call it a magical badge. I do have these Book Wyrm badges though, an ill advised merchandising tool, but I think they look nice.” The wizened dragonborn chuckles, handing you three badges with the logo of the shop on them

Tinkers: 12

Lyss shoves the coins towards him and happily takes a Book Wyrm badge and pins it on. 

"We don't have a name for our group, I don't want to step on your trademark, but if you like our work and want to be our sponsor, maybe we can work something out and have some sort of cross promotional thing!? Like if people buy a certain amount of books, they can get a wooden nickel good for a free drink across the street, once we've got the Tavern up and running, or maybe we take jobs as the Book Wyrm Brigade? No need to say yes just now, think it over, it could be the BEST! Enjoy your old wine! We should go tell Uncle Spark we've got a job already!"

"Oh, did we want to visit any other shops, we are out of pastries..."

"Ooooh! So nice! Thank you!"

Aimee slaps on the badge,

"I read that old wine is the best! Unless it isn't! Good luck!"

She nods approvingly at the idea of cross marketing, clearly people buying books also want complimentary alcoholic drinks.

"Ohh! And if people buy a bunch of alcohol at our place we can give them a wooden token so they come here after for books!"

Aimee remains oddly quiet on the name suggestions but does nod encouragingly.

"Let me drop off the books and then pastries!"

Spark, as you try to reconnect the piece you scratch up many of its components, failing to fix it. Nevercott watches, checking his timepiece. “How’s it getting along then?

At the Bookshop Rishaal chuckles, “Yes, old wine is great.” Checking the bottle suspiciously he puts it to the side. “I like the first idea better than the second, are you planning to re-open the tavern?” 

"Sure, maybe!"

"Maybe we can get the ghost to make drinks!"

"Or play drums for Threestrings when he plays!"

"Ooooh! Maybe it can do both?"

Spark growls.

”Did I not say no talking?”

At the bookshop 

Rishaal chuckles, "Well, I wish you the best of luck! I look forward to seeing you soon with news of from the underhill!" His mage hand brings him over a book, as he puts his reading glasses back on and buries himself in it. (Back to the Manor then?) 

At the Manor

The halfling keeps quiet until Spark is finished. It has taken him much longer than expected to complete, but he made it eventually. "Oh, are we finished? Such expediency, I am truly impressed!" The halfling bows. "Please take these 50 Dragons as payment for your services. My benefactor will be most pleased. You see, this was a little test, which you have passed. your technical skills are certainly there, but my benefactor requires.... discretion. Let us see if you can provide that. You see... there's a man I often tailor suits for, a large heavyset individual who goes by the name of Laertes Hansberg, I swear I've never seen a noble so fat. Anyway, he'll be picking up a new hat from me tomorrow evening. On his way home, I want you to be there, and I want you to snag a handkerchief out of his pocket, and I want you to ensure that handkerchief gets to Yra, a little tiefling girl who lives down by the docks in a box. You can do that, right?"

((If we're headed back, Lyss will pop into the nearest shop, give them the other bottle of wine and say hi, then duck out.))

"Did we want to get more pastries! I was hungry before, but now I kind of want to go see Pepperman!"

"Perhaps we should find Sparks first," Kerri suggests, wincing and rubbing her temples.

Spark narrows his eyes.

"And what might the reason for this be?"

"Merely, a test of your resolve. It's clear you have some skill with your tinkering, but my benefactor is most secretive, and needs to be sure that you are too to trust you with such delicate matters. We have observed your hostilities toward other nobles, and though you are lucky enough that I find your hostility to me somewhat charming, my benefactor feels it may be more conducive if your rebellious spirit was slightly directed. Of course, you would profit greatly from our alliance." He drops the fifty gold pieces on the side as he picks up the weapon.             

"I have lingered too long here, it has been a pleasure young Spark. If your task is completed, I'll know you have accepted." He tips his hat, bowing to the Genasi as he takes his leave.

"Yeah, okay, let's go let Uncle Spark know. Are you alright Ms. Kerri? You keep rubbing your head, you have a headache? I know a good treatment for that, you want me to make it for you?"
