Edvord, Aimee and Lyss approach the goo ready to jump, but the closed door on the other side of it doesn’t leave any space for them to land without risking a little dip.
Edvord - moved 20ft up to puddle
Lyss - moved 20ft up to puddle
Aimee - moved 20ft up to puddle
Kerri - moved 10ft into room
(Waiting on any changes or additions based on the clarification on door)
Seeing the closed door Edvord turns to his brother, "I believe I know a few things about this creatures... and you may be best suited to set foot in the oil puddle to open the door for everyone."
Aldrik steps onto the sticky substance, his foot clinging to the floor. It’s like the floor in some of his less than reputable haunts, and he’s pretty used to having to put his weight into pulling himself free.
Beyond the doorway a narrow hallway turns to the right down a staircase, which three of these little creatures are fleeing down. One is sticky , a trail running from the puddle to it’s feet, another you recognise as being the slippery little scamp that brazenly approached you and tried to rob you. The third, just ahead of them down the hall looks bruised and winded from Cico’s foot and clutches Lyss’s tools.
(3 enemies, 1 that disengaged from Aldrik, one that disengaged from Cico and one that spewed the puddle. You can guess that the other three dashed out of view. Aldrik and Edvord are able to get into melee this round - Edvords extra movement and Aldrik being in the room already. The hall fits two abreast and Thieves tools guy is on the other side of his buddies so can’t be reached by normal means. Ranged attacks can be performed from the top of the stairs once you’ve cleared the goo but cover may be an issue of people get into melee. Some of you have rolled attacks already so feel free to pick a target and describe your blows and use those results)
For targeting priority, Edvord attempts to discern whether one of the two fleeing figures in melee range is injured. If one is injured then Edvord will attack the injured one. Otherwise, if one has empty hands, Edvord will attack the target carrying any of the party's belongings. Past that Edvord doesn't really care which one he attacks.
Aldrik releases Zauberjager from his hand, shouting "Fly, Friend, and claim these thieving creatures!" He then draws Eddie's rapier, and rushes to strike one of the grabbers, no hint of normal rapier finesse in the blow. He'll hold the blade back, ready for Eddie to retrieve at his next opportunity.
As Aldrik trudges out of the puddle, Zauberjager meekly turns back into the room before lowering its blade in resignation and flying over the head of the thieves tools holding thief making a half hearted swing at its head. Zauberjager's blade cuts cleanly through the flesh and its laughter turns to a blood curdling scream as goo pulses from its wound. Its cries are muted as an arrow bursts through it's mouth sending it tumbling down the stairs lifelessly. As if out of nowhere Lyss appears. landing silently on the landing.
Aldrik's Rapier pierces the sticky skin of his prey, requiring considerable force to pull out. Edvord has less luck, his dagger slipping off of the thief's skin, barely even glancing it.
From the reception room, Cico, Kerri and Aimee see a flash of light coming from the statue room. Turning their heads they can see the door swinging shut, and for a brief flash a smiling hooded metal visage peers at them through the crack, waving with a metal hand as a deep, sinister chuckle fills the air.
The dart flys through the cheek of the creature, flying out the other side and landing in their dead companion’s forehead at the bottom of the stairs. You can now see straight through it’s head and it looks very woozy.
in a panic, the pair continue running, taking care not to meet the end of the three blades surrounding them. The more spritely of the two grabs the tools on the floor as they disappear around the corner.

((Is there any wall features, sconces, etc that Lyss may be able to monkey swing from to reach the handle?))

If clear of the goo, Cico will sprint after the boggles using his 45' speed to try and close ground. If that's still not enough, he'll Dash

Cico jumps over the oil (roll per above) and is ready to race forward when he finds the way blocked by the brothers.
He furrows his brow, unhappy that he would have to knock one of them down to keep going after the boggles.
Instead, he pulls out a dart and throws it at the one with the thieves tools.

"New voice in my head? You still there? What's up?"
Okay. One of the others then.
