(Yeah, so you can attempt to attack the duargar and most of the attacks will just hit the exoskeleton, which still takes damage and affects the hit points. However, if you attempt to actually strike the duergar it is at disadvantage, but does more damage.)

Qinfaren empowers his staff before striking the mechanical exoskeleton of the duergar. A metallic clang hangs in the air as it strikes the metallic hull.
Then the animals fail to do any damage to the exoskeleton.
Bjorn sighs, "I'm not sure if we are doing any damage to this thing."
He then takes a moment to pause an attempt to shoot the duergar in the suit again.
Bjorn's arrow flies through the air piercing the flesh of the duergar. The exoskeleton begins to turn towards Bjorn before the duergar inside lets out a final groan. The skeleton topples over no longer functioning.
Qinfaren prods the downed duergar with his staff just to make sure he's not moving any more, then looks around the room for any doorways or anything else of interest.
"These people are not very welcoming, are they?" Qinfaren says to the others. "Maybe they need to get more fresh air."
"Well we are basically invading their home," Bàn reminds. "Can't really blame them for taking offense..." He then searches the armor and, as best he can, the person inside to see if there's anything helpful that he can recognize at all while Qinfaren looks over the room proper.
Examining the duergar, Bàn sees that there are a variety of different components running from the mechanical exoskeleton into the duergar. Some of these components are made to torture the individual inside the contraption.
Meanwhile, Qinfaren searches the room and finds that there is not much in the room. Its only purpose is to have the elevator running through it. Yet, there are two directions to head in. A single door leads north, whilst two doors lead east.
"Well which way now?" Bjorn asks

Listening to both sets of doors, Qinfaren hears strange souds from either direction. However, this whole level is full of different noises as the duergars work away in the forge.

Qinfaren opens the door to another room. In this room, the sound of loud mechanical noises echo around the room.
Standing in the middle of the room, facing the double door to the north, is a seven-foot-tall statue of a female duergar in a scale mail robe. The top of its head above the eyes has been sheared off, making space for a stone brazier that gives off a flickering flame. Chained to the statue’s pedestal is an emaciated, malformed creature with rubbery, purplish-grey flesh, a bulbous head with a metal plate bolted to it, and sinister eyes.

Realizing that they were a bit noisy in that last fight with the armored duergar, Qinfaren pauses and tries to listen over the mechanical noises at same time looking carefully into the room.
"The duergar have a knack for shrinking and for turning invisible," Qinfaren says to the others.
Bàn's eyes immediately go to the malformed creature that seems to be tied up but knowing the truth in Qinfaren's caution Bàn doesn't allow himself to act impulsively. Pausing just a step behind and to the side of Qin, Bàn too studies the room and strains his senses in an effort to determine if there is more than what is jumping out at them.

(Order: Bjorn, Bàn, Duergar, Qinfaren.)
The siege machine continues on its assault against Bàn. First it attacks with its claw and then its hammer.
(Claw Attack: 6 Damage: 5 piercing damage.
Hammer Attack: 22 Damage: 9 bludgeoning damage.)

Qinfaren swings his staff hard at the duergar, hoping the magical empowerment from the spell he cast on it helps counter the strength of the armor.
He then directs the animals to all go for weak points in the armour and bite into some skin if they can find it.
Qinfaren - shillelagh Attack: 21 Damage: 6
Giant Badger - Bite Attack: 9 Damage: 3
Claws - Attack: 19 Damage: 6

Qinfaren puts his hand on the handle for the door to the north and looks at Bàn, shrugging his shoulders. "This way?"
He readies his three furry friends to attack anyone hostile to the group and will open the door if Bàn and Bjorn are ready to head that way.
"One way is as good as another," Bàn answers and prepares himself for whatever is next.
Qinfaren nods, and then opens the door (to the north).

Taking a moment to check out the room, Qinfaren fails to see any sign of duergar in the room.
"We know," Bjorn nods behind him. "We've encountered as much since we entered the fortress."
Bàn also looks around, but also doesn't spot any duergar in the room.
"Just what is that thing?"

Qinfaren turns his attention to the 'captive' in the room, giving himself guidance as he does (Nature? 5 plus 1 from guidance)
"A pet, perhaps?"
