Dek and Ereina, both of your attacks hit the same one that Ereina has been blasting with her eldritch magic. It falls to the ground. Only 9 remain. The group sets up the ladder, struggling with almost half of their original numbers gone. A loud 'clang' can be heard as the steel ladders hook on to the walls with its little claw grips. Before heading up the barbarians all pull out axes and throw them upward, aiming for your squad.

Attack: 8 Damage: 4
Dek two axes fly at you but only one hits.

Ereina two axes fly at you as well and just like Dek, none hit you.

Attack: 13 Damage: 2
Gideon none of the axes hit you, your armor protects you well enough.
Attack: 8 Damage: 4

Thalion an axe sails past you not even near cutting you.
Attack: 6 Damage: 2
Arson an axe flies past you as well but does not hit.

With a roar, Gideon pulled out his maul and leapt atop the wall, in front of the nearest ladder. "For the honor of the city!" and swung his mighty hammer sideways at the ladder.
Attack: 21 Damage: 11
ooc: The goal here is to knock one of the ladders off the wall. My original plan was to burn them but since they are made of metal (which I have never heard of before). If it's not feasible to jump atop the wall due to positioning or some such, he'll just move in front of one.
You stand on top of one of the crenellations and smash the ladder, everyone starts to hear ringing in their ears. The ladder doesn’t budge. Thalion it’s your turn.
(Is your character some sort of ladder historian?)

Thalion realizes that the best way he can help the defense effort right now is to try and take out as many invaders as possible before they can climb up the ladder. He peers over the wall, aims his longbow and fires at the enemies below them. He takes cover after firing and realizes that Gideon could use some added motivation to knock the ladder down; Thalion screams "FOR THE CITY!" at him. (OOC Bardic inspiration for Gideon as a bonus action)
Thalion, your attack hits one of the barbarians setting up to climb the ladder. It shrugs it off, it seems those that made it this far are the more hardy ones.

OOC: No, but I am 🙂. But you’re the DM so that works.
(Are you playing yourself?)
ooc: Nope...I made that comment OOC :). To Gideon, they are just scaling ladders he was trying to knock sideways...that part was clear right...not that he was trying to knock back but sideways.
Yes. It didn’t move. The steel siege ladder didn’t move. Also the two ladders are one piece, they’re just able to folded over one another and from the distance before it wasn’t obvious. You would have to knock the whole thing sideways.

"Come at me yer lily-livered landlubbers! We'll rip and burn your jolly roger!" Dek roars in surprisingly well structured sentences, as a wild look enters the halfling's eyes. His rapier at the ready, he sets himself to meet the first enemy brave enough to climb up the ladder and meet him head on.
Bonus Action: Enter Rage Action: Ready action to attack any enemy that climbs up the ladder. Rapier Attack:23 Damage:8

Ereina watches as the top of the ladders clang among the crenellations. Whoever built these had serious intentions. Risking a glance over the wall she sees the group setting up down below. As they organise themselves, she sends another blast down into the group, trying to pick out who might be in charge.
Eldritch Blast: Attack: 9 Damage: 10

OOC: Considering the angle of the attack and that we are all standing behind merlons and crenellations, do we get half cover from the axes?
