"You should have seen her Dormark, she was real pretty, not as pretty as Ireena, but..."
At that moment you see Ireena,"Argggh I slept like a log. Sorry what was that Baern?"she says still half asleep.
Ismark wakes roughly, clutching his head,"Wha'... I... My head is pounding. Galqarin?! Is he missing?!" He lets the news sink in,"I warned you!" He storms,"Far too trusting of these strangers!" He gestures to the Vistani camp.
Leaving the strange dreamscape Dormark says, “I think I just did Baern. Anyways just give me a minute I should find him fairly quickly if he doesn’t return. He then kneels down begins praying to Moradin.
Some may notice that where Galqarin had curled up for the night next to the fire, his sad attempt at fashioning a weapon out of a branch remains there.
> Ismark wakes roughly, clutching his head, "Wha'... I... My head is pounding. Galqarin?! Is he missing?!" He lets the news sink in, "I warned you!" He storms, "Far too trusting of these strangers!" He gestures to the Vistani camp.
Ismark's sweeping gesture takes in a number of Vistani, some squatting and breaking fast, others milling around. One tall, slightly stooped, robe clad individual stands apart. They are leaning on a stout quarterstaff and their face is obscured.
Baern awkwardly responds "ahhhh, I was just saying, um, that I had a dream about a warrior woman who, ah, reminded me of you, that's all."
Baern tries to shake off the awkwardness by changing subjects once again and encourages Ismark to stand down. Raising a hand to suggest that Ismark not march into the Vistani camp the dwarf suggests "we'll go find him, don't worry" and he prepares to join Dormark when he's ready.
While he waits Baern randomly comments aloud to no one in particular "I feel different today." "Am I taller or something? Sorry, I know that's stupid."
There were three things Sandu noticed upon waking up. First was the unusually clear dream he had. He vaguely recalled dreaming first about something from his past but the latter dream had all but interposed itself between any fond memories he dreamt of. It marked the second time Sandu had dreamt of something he did not know. What could it mean, he wondered. Was it a glimpse of something to come? Was simply being near such a powerful diviner as Madam Eva enough to have prophetic dreams on your own? And the figures, they seemed to be intent on confronting Strahd as well. Could they be allies? All this thinking made Sandu's head hurt.
The second was that his hand rested on something hard and cold. He blinked until the fog of last night dreams left his eyes and saw that, in his sleep, he had reached out and pulled the box containing the book closer to him, almost mimicking how a child would sleep with a stuffed animal. The cold wood and latches rested on his arm. Sandu moved the box and his arm, roused from its sleep, responded with a barrage of pins and needles. He balled his hand into a fist a couple of times to quicken the process.
The last, and far more pressing matter, was a sharp pain that felt like something cold was poking him in the chest. With his free hand Sandu loosened the top of his shirt to see. The source of the pain was his pendant. It had changed somehow. Sandu had to look twice to be sure but, indeed, the silver raven was different from how it was the night before. The red crystal set as its eye had a brighter gleam to it but that did not concern Sandu as much as seeing that the bird now had one wing spread open, the tip of which was poking his flesh and drawing a small trinkle of blood. Sandu rearranged his clothes and pendant so it would rest against his chest as normal and wiped away the droplet of blood with his finger.
Sandu sat upright and reached for a piece of bread to get him going. He chewed slowly while watching the others go about their morning as a way to kickstart his own. Valerie was practising some sword moves he vaguely recognised from his dream, - Another shared dream? - Dormark was praying to his god and Baern and Ismark were having an argument. It seemed like Galqarin had snuck away during the night. Every bugbear related cliché filled Sandu's mind at once and his mood soured.
He stood up, clicked open the box and tucked the book under his arm as best he could. He had an appointment with Madam Eva he had to get to. Sandu did not openly announce his departure but he did not attempt to sneak out of camp either. When he passed Baern, he paused for a moment.
'Your beard is longer.' He told the dwarf in the same manner someone might remark on the weather. Sandu then continued his trek towards Madam Eva's tent.
Baern instinctively touches his beard as Sandu passes, thinks for a fraction of a second and chuckles. "Haha, I guess no one could say you are wrong, eh?"
Baern then resumes glancing around for Galqarin while he waits for Dormark, occasionally glancing at Ismark to ensure he doesn't overreact just yet.
As Baern glances around, the tall, robed Vistani approaches him.
Beneath the robe's cowl is a mask:
The aged leather has been intricately tooled in the likeness of a raven’s visage, stained black. A delicate waft of lavender scent drifts towards the dwarf.
Valerie joins the group after finishing her morning exercise.
She sits down to catch her breath. "... So... what’s the plan for today?..." She takes a deep breath and looks around. "I had... a strange dream again. People I’ve never met. I think... I’m not alone." She takes a big chuck from her water skin and looks up to the sky to look for the Ravens. "I wonder are they some kind of vision? From a force that wants to oppose Strahd or... it could be a trap from Strahd himself?"
Baern looks up at the tall masked figure and silently, uncomfortably leans as far away as possible without moving his feet. After a quick glance at the mask he tries not to look at the dark face again. After an awkward moment he says "ahhhh, might I help you with something?" "I'm looking for my friend."
“Ugh. Why am I plagued by these dreams.” Ioben roused from a restless sleep. The dream had been so vivid that he found it hard to distinguish from his memories of the day before.
Looking around the camp he noticed the bugbear was missing. He was probably off somewhere preparing for the day. The others were in various states of motion.
“Ah, might I help you with something?” He hears Bearn say and Ioben turns to see the masked man watching the group.
“Hello,”he calls out. “Are you ok? We arrived last night and Mahdame Eva said we could stay here.”
The tall figure is dressed in fine Vistani clothing and wears an intricate mask you believe to be in the form of a raven. Unfortunately his face is completely obscured by the mask.
As the party wakes from its slumber they discover they are a member down. The Vistani camp is relatively quiet as most of the inhabitants appear to be ferreted away in their respective tents / wagons - some potentially worse for wear from the previous night.
Baern & Dormark & Ioben - Currently engaged in conversation with a curious new addition to the camp; A tall Vistani gentleman with fine silken clothing, wearing an intricate raven mask, wielding a finely carved staff, and smelling of lavender. Ismark is with you both and demands to know what has happened to Galqarin;"You there! What is the MEANING of this! I must see Madam Eva this instance!"
Valerie -As you sit at the camp, checking the skies for ravens - you do not see any. Ireena is there with you,"Dreams? Baern mentioned about a dream earlier. Something about a warrior woman that reminded him of me." Ireena looks perturbed by the revelation,"You think these dreams could be from Strahd? That does not bode well. To think that he could enter your thoughts like that! You have to take caution Val! Did that Madam Eva say anything about the dreams?"
Sandu - As you approach Madam Eva's tent you are greeted by the now familiar red glow emanating from within. You hear Eva's voice ring out from within,"Come in, come in, Sandu. There is much to discuss."
Galqarin - Is still no where to be found!
((I thought it best to give an overview of where everyone currently was.))
Looking curiously over Galqarin, Ismark nods,"Glad to see you well Galqarin, I must admit I assumed the worst. Probably best you obscured your identity moving forward... must admit, you had me fooled."He chuckles softly.
