Handsome Dog just shrugs. "No food stuff on here this time around." He says. "What we have for provisions are locked in a chest over there, without any way for the rats to get to it." He nods to a chest in one corner. Looking at the hold of the shihp he sighs. "I don't think cleaning the entire place is going to be all that easy out here on the open sea, but we can be more careful with washing and whatnot before we eat. When we reach port we'll empty the hold and do a full cleaning to be sure though." He does help get what can be cleaned cleaned though, helping to carry things up to the upper deck and warming water and using some soap to help wash things up.
Kanlos helps clean for a while before he returns to the deck of the ship to get some air and waits patiently for the others to finish and head back to their vessel and mission.
Aughus, who has been helping with the cleansing, seems quite impressed by the work you all have done. As the group returns to the deck he gives you all nods of approval. Turning to the captain... "My suggestion is to head straight to port, take everything out of the Bold Gem, and scrub her from prow to aft." The captain assures him this will be done. Aughus nods and moves to the rowboat to head back to the Proud Jester. "well done." He tells you all as you head back to the other ship.
Once on board the Jester Kassiopeia excuses herself and goes under deck to her card to change clothes.
She puts everything she had worn on the Bold Gem in a bag and with a bar of soap she returns to the top deck.
„Aughus? Do you have a tub or a bucket I can use? I need to clean my clothes after this. You should probably do the same and everyone who helped with the rat hunt. You might have stepped on something or brushed against a spot. Better be safe than sorry!“
Io says, "I did not think of that but that is a good idea. Thank you Kassio." He goes below deck to bag up his armors, weapons and his Vestments. He comes out wearing a red silken clothes that seem to very well crafted and expensive. It almost looks like something a prince or a king might wear. He carries his old clothes and his armor in a bag.
Returning to the deck after changing his own filthy clothing, Xerronios folds the dirty clothes neatly and lays them out on the deck. Taking out his lute, he strums a few chords, and then sings them clean.
O, the rats were dirty and dank, Illness and filth their measure brought And the smell, so terribly rank My clothes did witness what we fought
After he cleans his own clothing, he turns to the others. "I'd be happy to do the same for anyone else. Any takers?"
Once onboard the Jester, Spyro would toss a bucket tied to a rope over the side of the ship and use sea water to rinse off his clothes and to wash the dirt and grime from Scraps. After the two of them were soaking wet, the satry would summon a gust of wind to quickly dry them off.
Watching Spyro do it, Io would do the same with his clothes and armor though he would wait for them to dry naturally as he does not know the Gust Spell.
As you disembark from the wrowboat Aughus is carrying a staff Captain Hansome Dog gave him just before you left the Bold Gem.
Aughus supplies the buckets and whatever else is requested, taking his own turn to wash up and clean his gear.
After you are all clean, as well as your clothes, you are all summoned to the captain's quarters aboard the Proud Jester. Aughus is there, with the staff in-hand again.
This large staff is made of beautiful coral with a single large pearl at the top.
Gnorcys smiles at you as you enter her quarters and then waves to Aughus. "Aughus tells me how well you did at that work aboard the Bold Gem, and I will add my own appreciation of your care to not bring such a sickness aboard the Proud Jester."
"Handsome Dog gave me this staff before we left his ship." Aughus says, holding up the staff. "Gnorcys and I both agree that one of you should have it." He lays it on a table that is located in the captain's quarters. "From what I have been able to learn, it will aid spellcasters the most, making your spells a bit stronger. It also has the power to grant several people the ability to swim and breathe water."
While holding this staff you gain +1 to spell attack rolls and your spell save DC increases by 1. Once per day you can use an action to grant up to 10 creatures a swim speed of 50 feet and the ability to breathe underwater. This effect lasts for 8 hours.
"Oh well isn't that a shiny stick!" Spyro would say with a grin as he moves closer to the staff. "I've been fishing a long time but never hooked anything like that. I wouldn't mind taking it if you all don't mind. Otherwise one of you can have it." The satry would say as he pulls out his pipe and gives it a few puffs before looking over the staff a bit more.
Xerronios eyes the satyr carefully. He was a sorcerer and his main attack was his spells so a magical staff that enhanced his spells would certainly aid their quest. But what about the other ability? Given that the possessor could grant the ability to multiple people, it would seem that whoever had charge of that ability was of less importance.
Io states, "You can keep it if you want it, Spyro" The man is not particularly worried about loot at this time. He is still thinking of something else.
Ritha looks at the staff with a bit of bemusement. Being neither a spellcaster, nor having troubles swimming or breathing underwater, she smiles but passes up having any sort of closer look at the weapon.
"It is truly a blessing to have such a thing on the high seas. With this, we can explore the many triton settlements of the ocean, and perhaps find more places to resupply than simply on land," she says happily.
You get back under way, the Sinful Devil sailing in your wake, and the Bold Gem heading on its way once more.
Gnorecys leaves the decision of what to do with the Sinful Devil to you guys. She gives you two options. You can make for the port the Bold Gem said they had just come from, which is 2 days travel, and not really out of your way, or you can have the Sinful Devil follow all the way to your original next port of call, which is another 5 or 6 days away. Gnorcys was planning on bypassing this first port, as you do not need supplies as of yet. She is willing to adjust the schedule, if you want to put the Sinful Devil up there, and leave her there as you continue onward. The other option is to take her to the port Gnorcys had planned on for your next stop, and then leave her there.
It won't affect too much game-wise, though, if you do have an encounter you will be split between two ships, and possibly be less able to handle encounters as easily as otherwise. Up to you guys though...
Kanlos looks to the others, "I don't have a strong opinion either way, but I see no reason to delay the punishment these pirates will receive. I'd suggest stopping at the nearer port. Someone there may also have claim to the ship or even a desire to purchase it, and some extra gold could go a long way in aiding our mission. I'd think so anyway."

Xerronios nods and smiles, then sings out the same ditty, though slightly modified. In a moment, Kanlos' clothing is perfectly clean.

But would it serve the needs of fate?
Yes...he believed it would.
”I have no objection, Spyro.”

Kassiopeia looks at the staff with some interest.
“Looks pretty neat. If we ever come across a medium sized one, I‘ll consider it.
This one is at least one size too big for me.“
With these words she turns away, making space for Spyro.
'large' on the staff does not signify anything in relation to how big you have to be to use it. It is just a normal quarterstaff...
