Gale carefully examine the book and the area around the pedestal before reaching out to flip through the book. As he looks through the book he motions to Leareth, "You ever seen anything like this?"
Investigation: (14) for looking around to make sure nothing is trapped
Gale (Rolls did show for me) / Leareth: As you inspect the area and the book, it doesn't seem trapped, and as you start looking over the book, it appears to have a list of spells, with each one being written in Gnomish and Common. The list of spells it shows are for Burning Hands,Detect Magic,Identify,Mage Armor,Magic Missile,Shield,Sleep.
Morgan: The voice on the other side responds frantically. "Shapechangers don't do this! This is much more dangerous! It killed a couple of my friends!"
((I'm so sorry guys! The site didn't give me notifications for this thread.))
Through the door, Morgan replies, "King Korboz, I am Morgan, and these are my companions Leareth, Gale, and Geralt. We just recently killed the Mimic in your wine cellar at the request of your associates, and we seek the help of the Gnomes of Gnomengarde on behalf of Phandalin and her Townmaster, Harbin Wester. Perhaps if you let us in we can help you with your current issue."
He tries to assess the mental state of the gnome on the other side of the door--just in case HE could be the shapechanger...

"A spellbook, hmm? Not really much use to me, I'm sorry to say - never could learn from textbooks - though it's bound to be quite valuable to a caster. Fetch a nice price maybe... Huh. But who's the wizard? The King?" He turned to Gale. "Should we take it? Maybe we can offer it to the King, or something. Like a goodwill gesture, to prove we aren't enemies." He shrugged, feeling like he's grasping at straws.
Morgan, the king doesn't seem like he's acting fishy, more like just crazy and cautious as one would be when their friends and compatriates get killed by a monster.
"A mimic you say? That makes sense, but how do I know you killed it!?"
“Dabbledob is off getting the corpse of the mimic now. It was hiding in the storeroom in the form of a wine cask. It flinched when we hit it with a pebble, so we were able to identify and destroy it,” responds Morgan.
”Ah, here he is now,” continues Morgan, as the gnome brings the mimic corpse to the door.

Morgan, Dabbledob carries the body over, a loud thump can be heard as she let's go and the body hits the floor. "Ugh, that is gross. Korboz get your ass out here." Dabbledob shouts out as she begins to back up. "Good luck." She says before leaving you here. After she leaves, you hear a voice from the other side of the door. "I...is it really dead?"
Morgan, you hear a slight rumble followed by a creaking of the door as it opens slightly. A head peaks out and stares at you. "Where is it?" He whispers to you.
Gesturing to the ruined corpse of the wine barrel/mimic, Morgan says, "Right here, your Majesty. Is this what killed your friends, or is there another threat we should know about?"

Morgan, the King works his out of the chambers and get's close to the mimic, inspecting it thoroughly. "This isn't what it looked like but.." He looks at the teeth. "I'd recognize these nasty teeth anywhere, yes, this is it. Thank you so much! What can we ever do to repay you?"
((Gale, Laereth is looking to you regarding the spellbook.))
”We actually come seeking aid in defending the region from a white dragon which has been sighted. The Townmaster, Harbin Wester, believes you might have some fantastic inventions or magical items which could aid us against such a powerful creature,” responds Morgan, trying to stay on task but wondering where the others had drifted off to.

King Korboz waves you into his chambers as he is happy that the creature is killed. "I shall mount it on my wall, here, follow me." As he leads you inside, you see a luxurious room, compared to the others you've seen so far, with 2 large beds. Tied to a chair against the south wall is, what you can assume, is the other king, King Gnerkli. King Korboz walks over to one of the beds and begins to pull out a chest, placing it on a large table. As he opens it up it reveals a handful of items. He begins to remove them and place them on the table. "Here, for helping out our home, and to help aid you in this defense against this Dragon, I'd like to offer you these."
On the table you see that King Korboz has laid out a Wizard's Hat, an Amulet in the shape of some gears, possibly forming a clock of sorts, A wand with decorations of fire inscribed on it and a 10ft Pole. "I'm unsure of what these are supposed to do, but I'm insured that they al have some sort of magical nature."
While all this is happening, King Gnerkli is sitting patiently restrained, watching from his chair.
Morgan:
“Hello, my name is Morgan. I am a healer, lately of Phandalin. I hear you are having trouble with shapechangers,” he responds through the door.

Leareth shook his head. "Doesn't look like anything special to me. I've seen some grimoires back on Earth, but this is something else."
