The tablets are all inscribed with intricate Sanskriti with highly convoluted language. The wooden tablets appear the simplest and are mostly treatises on the nature of life and death and the permutations of reincarnation, the afterlife and undeath. The stone tablets all seem to be practical or theoretical processes to affect those concepts; it is difficult for Mal to make most of them out. He also comes across two jade tablets of exquisite construction.
Make an Intelligence check DC 10 to interpret the stone tablets, DC 14 for the jade ones.
Mal squints, trying to make out the symbols on the tablets. Intelligence check: 18
Perception check: 21
The stone tablets indeed contain deep, and at times disturbing, commentaries on life, death and the avoiding of both states of being....indeed there are many that speak of stepping off of the wheel of reincarnation entirely.
The jade tablets are another thing entirely; one shifts from Sanskriti into another language entirely unknown to Malambing.
The other contains an alchemical recipe that claims to be an immortality potion.
As Malambing is reading he fancies he can hear a strange faint scrabbling sound somewhere above him....
(Assuming Mal translates this all for the others.) Krikoris looks around to the others, "Is immortality something sought after a lot here? Back home, the dragons who are in power are basically already immortal and no one else usually survives long enough for it to matter."
"Some of these might be of interest to your mistress, Khutulun. We should take what we can and be on our way quickly, I hear something moving above us.'
"If anything it will inform her and provide proof of what is down here and what the temple seems to be involved in. I agree, we should takes some with us."
Khutulun reaches out and places some of the tablets in her backpack.

As Khutulun packed the tablets away there was a sudden cracking sound and dust fell down around the room and then suddenly a huge mass of earth fell into the room covering the pile of tablets, among the dirt and stone was a Lokonan man dressed as a priest of the Shrine and a very large spider.
The spider quickly begins to shift as the legs fuse into first a pair of scaly legs and then a long tail that flicks about. Soon arms form and a reptilian head forms, eyes slowly becoming closer before forming into two distinct sockets. As Gajesh returns to normal he readies for a fight due to the sound of his companions voice.
Krikoris takes the lead from his friend and steps back, raising a small mote of flame in his hand as he prepares to shoot a bolt of flame if the newcomers attack.
Gajesh bounces the arrow off with his shield, the thing made out of some sort of petrified wood. He lets out a hiss and bangs his Scimitar against his shield. His eyes lock onto the one with the bow and he turns to Rushdi. "I shall feast on that one...."
Gajesh nods and looks away as he is warned. If anything comes at them after that he can see he will move ahead of Rushdi and ready an action to attack with his Scimitar for one enemy or to cast Thunderwave if more then one person comes within range of the spell in a hostile manner.
Khutulun whips her head around roll avoid the burst of light and flame.
Looking back she hisses, "So the priests have come to collect their foul necromantic knowledge? This will serve as our evidence against your corruption."
