"For magical theory purposes, I would highly encourage it. But it should be advised that as we do not know the full extent of the magics surrounding it, that it might be ill advised. As we have seen, Grizzle's magic flared, perhaps it triggers different effects from this. Due to different magical sources, that is. So it depends on how curious you are." Ezri explains quickly, as she pats her pouches. She was practically vibrating with excitement. "Drats! I knew I should have kept a notebook on me. Oh, thank you Kane. For... whatever you were doing."
“No, wait, don’t. We don’t know what will happen.” Kane let’s go of Ezri and stands up. “I’ve been a jerk lately, so.. I’ll do it. If that’s alright with you guys.” Kane then looks at the tree. “I wonder if it is based on our biology...” he murmurs.
Kane sees Ezri looking for a notebook. “Here.” He pulls out a small notebook and pencil. “You can use one of mine. I always bring extra.” He goes to hand it to her.
"Oh no, no, it's quite fine. You... won't be seeing that again if I get my hands on it. I can wait for until we're out of this to put my thoughts down. It will give time to properly organize it, and get some answers, no?"

Seiren nods then hands the stick she's holding to Kane. "Your funeral or however that saying goes. It could be biology-based. Grizzle's magic comes from whatever affected him, so it's inside of him, physically... metaphysically. Semantics. Or it could be completely arbitrary." She tilts her head for a moment, thinking, "It's an estimated guess, but if it's based on some consistency, I'm a half-elf, so magic can't put me to sleep... so I can test it out if I'm willing to bet that touching a tree would make me fall asleep instead of disappear or wherever the Hells Grizzle went."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Whatever we do I don't think touching the trees is going to get us anywhere...well maybe Griz," Zira chuckles. "Are we needing eight hours rest or did this give us the eight hours," she asks. "I don't understand why we wouldn't just start trying to get back to the school not investigate freaky magic trees," she adds looking around to see if she can spot anything that would look like a trail or even the spires of the school itself!
“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
Kane is about to touch the tree when he hears Serien speak about not bing able to be Pitt to sleep. “Actually, that’s a better idea, but maybe we should leave the trees alone.” He tosses aside the stick. He tells Zira, “Our goal isn’t to find the school, but to find out coven leaders. Now, they could be at the school, but they could also be anywhere in this forest.” Kane beings to survey the area for any signs of Grizzle, the academy or the coven leaders. Perception:8
Enoch sighs as people start to wander off towards the enchanted treeline. Briefly, he opens the book still chained to his forearm. He mutters under his breath as he reads a few lines before snapping it shut. "Do what you will. I will take the advice, nay instruction, of our academic masters, and rest here for... approximately 7 hours and 44 minutes, at which time I will endeavor to, as they so delicately put it, 'find them.'" Enoch sinks to the ground carefully and stretches out, careful not to wrinkle his precise apparel.
Grizzle suddenly reappears, trying to eat some bug on the ground. However there is no sign of the academy, or the leaders for that matter.

“Enoch, that’s actually a good idea.” Kane takes out his tome and is about to sit under a tree when he jumps up, not wanting to touch the tree. He looks and around for a boulder to lean on and take a long rest. He sees one and goes on her to it and sits down and reads his book.
“Ah, no, thank you, Grizzle.” She gives him that, excuse me, pursed lip smile that you see in sitcoms so frequently. “We couldn’t see you for a minute there.” Glancing at the nearest tree, she considers it for a moment then mutters to herself, “Aw, what the Hells.” and taps it with her prosthetic hand.
Nothing happens. The hand lacks the primary magic within you.

Such an eccentric person. Seiren has a small smile on her face, very amused by Grizzle's... everything. When her prosthetic hand doesn't trigger anything, she nods to herself as if confirming something then switches hands and hesitantly pokes the tree.
Grizzle has a look at the tree he hugged, to see if it looks any different from any of the other trees. Either way, he'll go hug a different tree, keeping an eye out for more bugs.

All the trees look similar to grizzle. When Seiren switches hands she hears a faint humming, it sounds familiar and not at the same time. As you focus on the sound, you realize it’s a combination of the first song you’ve ever liked and the first song you’ve composed...

"I can hear something," Seiren tells the others, "It's... music that I know." She furrows her brow, thinking, "The trees must have some sort of... reactive magic for which our own magic being in contact with it acts as a catalyst, I'm assuming."
(May I make some sort of check to see if Seiren can deduce more about how these effects are personalized? Arcana, Investigation, or Nature, perhaps?)
