"Aha! So it is like that!" Ezri claps her hands together with a wide grin. "Hm... these tour guides hopefully will have answers prepared for this. We've barely even been here for... an hour? Half an hour? Imagine what else this forest holds. Can you describe the music, and what sort of other connections it may have to you or the forest?"
"Could the trees teleport us too?" Zira asks looking completely out of her depth. "Each maybe a different magic or lead to a different conjurer? Are we meant to work together at all? I assume we're not in the same covens right? If we're being taught based on essential talents or gifts," she adds musing aloud before looking at Grizzle. "Griz were you invisible? I mean if he was we'd certainly be able to hear him. Did you cast some big magic?" she asks. "Did you cast and then we could see you again," she finishes awaiting the goblins reply.
OOC: DM if we're meant to take a long rest I'd vote we'd time jump and do it everyone resets and we move ahead.

“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
In answer to Ezri's question, Seiren answers, "It's... a mix of songs. Something I composed when I was younger and the first song I remember liking, a lullaby my mother used to sing to me."She hums a few chords to herself then takes her hand off of the tree. To Zira, she says, "I don't believe the trees can teleport us? Unless there's something that has to happen first to trigger such an effect." She shrugs. "I would initially think so as well, about not working together, but... I'm inclined to think we should, regardless? Tests in groups often are meant to draw out how each individual works and their behavior in a team setting. Otherwise, if they wanted to see how we each fared on with our own resourcefulness, I would've assumed we would have been split up. But that's just conjecture." She continues humming the tune from the tree, thinking to herself. "Well, Grizzle could definitely hear and see us, but he said we were 'ignoring him', which means we couldn't hear him. Perhaps a side effect of his Big Magic?" Seiren scrunches up her nose in thought then leans her back against the tree and takes her lute out, strumming the tune idly.
Kane is listening to the conversation. “Maybe it’s a good idea if I do not touch the trees. Since most of my spells are flame based, I could have caught on fire or set the tree on fire or anything like that. I’m curious how we are find our coven leaders. There are no tracks, no hints, they could be trees, animals, plants...these are master spellcasters we are talking about.”
(May I make some sort of check to see if Seiren can deduce more about how these effects are personalized? Arcana, Investigation, or Nature, perhaps?)

As you wonder over the trees mystery it starts getting dark. There is the remains of an old hut that someone made here a long time ago that is large enough for 4 of you to sleep in. The other 2 stand watch for 2 hours before heading to bed and getting replaced. After a long rest, you all see the dim light provided by the sun here once more.

You both realize that these trees are ancient, some 10,000 years old, older than the academy itself. The magic flowing through them is as ancient, almost primal. It seems to be possibly where many of the greats learned their inspiration from, and the very nature of them fuels the magic of the earth and life around them.

Seiren stretches herself out, stifling a yawn behind her hand, still thinking about the trees after her rest. "Hopefully. Anyone want to try climbing up a tree and see if there's anything they can see from up top?" She puts a finger on her nose. "I'm not great at climbing. But. I can catch you if you fall. Magically. If that's any reassurance."
Grizzle touches the tree with the palm of his hand as he jumps up like a kid who can’t reach the top shelf. He stays in contact with the tree for too long however. (roll on the table)

(The moment she suggested it, I internally was like “well, Grizzle’s going to try. Because it’s Grizzle. Duh.”)
Seiren watches him certainly attempt to climb a tree. She feels like she should feel bad for putting the idea out there with the hunch that Grizzle would immediately go for it. Should she feel bad? ..... Nah.
Zira stands with her face in her hands trying to stifle laughter as she blocks her own view of Grizzle.

Kane wakes up from his rest and stretches out. “So, guys, I figured it out. The trees respond to how we use our magic. Maybe if I wear gloves, the tree won’t respond...” Kane takes his leather gloves out of his bag and taps one of the trees.
Seiren cocks her head. "It didn't respond to my prosthetic, so it definitely requires an organic touch, presumably because our magic is present in the organic parts of our bodies. Body. Just mine. But the question is what do we do with that information? Do we want the trees to respond or not? Is there a way, perhaps, we can... use the magic to find the coven leaders if they're elsewhere here?" She's gone into full 'thinking out loud without waiting for a response' mode. "Every forest is a network, so this could be a magical network... Maybe there's a way to tap into that network somehow."
(If I may, I'd like to do, I'd guess, an Arcana and a Nature check to see if Seiren can postulate a way, if there's any, to do such a thing — Arcana: 23 and Nature: 23)
(Edit: The fact that she's rolled two Nat20's in a row on Nature of all things... save those, please, my sweet child...)
It would take some powerful magic to do so, but you could, theoretically, connect with a tree and use the senses of the entire grove. Also, Grizzle becomes size category large, and now is half the height of the tree. Also, with gloves, the tree doesn’t summon any magic within Kane.

Kane takes his hand away after nothing happens. “This sounds crazy but I have an idea. What if we are all holding hands, and one of use touches a tree? Do you think the combined magic would trigger something?”
